Whether you are a pro making your own PGA betting picks or just getting into the game, betting on golf provides a great way to sweat the action. Like most other professional sports, there are plenty of ways you can bet on golf; with outright winners, head-to-head matchups and plenty more, golf betting offers a wide array of wagers. There will certainly be an edge to be found every week, and I’ve found a few for this week’s Sony Open.
That’s why we are debuting our PGA betting series. It consists of three articles:
- Outrights & Each Way
- Head-to-Head Matchups (this one)
- Jason’s Bet of the day (stole this idea from Awesemo’s own Ben Rasa).

PGA Betting Round 1 Matchups
Sebastian Munoz (-110) vs. Scott Piercy
Munoz’s run over the last three days and past success at the Sony Open are all I need to take advantage of the matchup that I have priced at -125. Sure, that’s not much value, but it is one I still want to exploit given the circumstances.
Brendon Todd (+125) vs. Kevin Kisner
Todd played just as well, if not better than Kisner last week, so why is he the dog here? Whatever the reason, it’s there, so I’ll take advantage of it.
When parlayed together, these matchups will give you a +330 payout.

Brendon Todd +350 vs. Grillo/Harman/Kokrak/Howell
This is another way to buy in on Todd this week given his recent form. Only Grillo has truly matched his form as of late, with each of the others missing at least one cut in the last eight tournament weeks. If it comes down to Todd versus Grillo at +350, that sounds like a good deal to me.
