Knicks vs. Grizzlies Best Bet
The Knicks are on the road as they travel to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies on Friday night. New York comes into this contest looking to extend their win streak to four games, coming off a 107-77 road win against the Mavericks in their previous contest. Memphis took care of business at home against the Pelicans, cruising to a 132-111 victory over New Orleans on Tuesday night. These teams met once back on Feb. 2 with the Grizzlies winning 120-108 on the road in Madison Square Garden.
New York enters the night with a 28-38 record on the year. The Knicks’ play-in hopes are still alive in the East, but it will take a strong finish to the season for any chance to climb into the playoff picture. Quentin Grimes (kneecap), Nerlens Noel (foot) and Cam Reddish (shoulder) are all out on Friday. Obi Toppin is questionable with a hamstring injury. He has missed the past four games, so even if he is able to suit up, Toppin will most likely be on a minutes restriction. Julius Randle is starting off the month strong averaging 26.2 points in five games. The Knicks’ recent success can also be tied to their defensive efforts from Randle and RJ Barrett, as they rank fourth in defensive rating over the last five games. The Knicks are averaging 105.8 points on 43.6% shooting and allowing 106.8 points to opponents. New York has been able to rip down the rebound this season, ranking second in the league with 55.4 rebounds per game, only behind the Memphis Grizzlies.
Memphis bounced back from a surprising loss to the Rockets by dominating the Pelicans on Tuesday night. The Grizzlies are sitting at 45-22 on the season and lead the Southwest Division by 4.5 games over the Mavericks. Memphis averages 114.2 points on 45.9% shooting and allows 109.3 points to opponents. This team ranks fifth in offensive rating and eighth in defensive rating on the season. Ja Morant leads the team in scoring, averaging 27.5 points, while Desmond Bane is putting up 17.9 points a game. Memphis loves to produce points in the paint, ranking first in the league with 57.6 points per game. The Knicks will provide a tough test for Memphis, as New York is holding opponents to the third-fewest points in the paint per game, so the battle down low is extremely important here.
The Knicks are in their sixth straight road game and will have one more road test against Brooklyn on Sunday before returning home. New York has managed to hold two of their last three opponents under 94 points. Tom Thibodeau will try to replicate the team’s defense from the win in Dallas and if he manages to repeat a similar performance, the Knicks hope to keep this one within striking distance. Memphis is 16-16-1 over/under at home this year and 2-5 over/under in their last seven games. New York is 17-17 over/under on the road this year. Grizzlies games this season have posted an average total of 223.2. This total feels a few points too high, so ride the under in Friday’s matchup.

Jazz vs. Spurs Best Bet
The Jazz and Spurs face off at the AT&T Center on Friday night. Utah has found some momentum, as they have rattled off 11 wins in their last 14 games overall. San Antonio has been in a slump, losing five of their last six games overall. These two teams have seen each other twice this season, splitting the series 1-1 with the road team winning in both matchups. The Spurs (25-41) find themselves two games out of a play-in spot in 12th place in the conference. The Jazz (41-24) sit at fourth in the Western Conference, 11.5 games back from the Suns for the top spot.
The Jazz will be without Bojan Bogdanovic after he suffered a bruised right leg in their previous contest. His absence is a disappointment for the Jazz, as Bogdanovic was heating up scoring 27.6 points over the last three games. Outside of his injury, the Jazz come into this with a healthy roster. Donovan Mitchell has been off to a slow start in the month of March failing to score more than 20 points in three of the five games this month. The Utah Jazz are averaging 113.7 points on 47.3% shooting and allowing 107.3 points to opponents.
The Spurs could be without several role players once again on Friday. Joshua Primo (illness) and Keita Bates-Diop (back) are both doubtful for tonight’s contest. Romeo Langford (hamstring) has been ruled out. Devontae Cacok (heel) is probable for Friday. San Antonio is averaging 112.7 points on 46.9% shooting and allowing 113 points to opponents. While Jakob Poeltl has been hot as of late, upping his scoring average to 16.7 points per game in six games since the All-Star Break, tonight will be a tough challenge going up against the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Rudy Gobert. Poeltl averaged 8.0 points and 6.1 rebounds in 15 career games versus Utah. Dejounte Murray is another player who has not had much success versus Utah in his career. In 15 games, Murray has only surpassed 20 points scoring once.
The total has gone under in four straight games for Utah. The Jazz are 14-17-1 over/under on the road this season and 1-4 over/under on totals at 230 points or higher. Expect the Jazz to control the pace and slow down the tempo in tonight’s matchup. The total ended at 214 and 254 combined points in both matchups this year. The Spurs are top 10 in fewest 3-pointers allowed to opposing teams. If the Spurs can lock in on the perimeter defense, this game has a great chance to go under 230 points. Take the under in tonight’s Western Conference showdown.
