Best NBA Betting Picks Tonight | Dec. 7

Nets vs. Mavericks

The Brooklyn Nets enter Tuesday leading the Eastern Conference with a 16-7 record. Brooklyn is coming off a 111-107 loss on their home court to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday. Tonight they head on the road to face Dallas for the start of a four-game road trip. The Nets have fared well on the road this season, holding an 8-2 record away from home. The Dallas Mavericks have dropped seven of their last 10 games and has struggled to stay healthy. Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis both missed Dallas’ last game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Porzingis was able to practice Monday after missing the last two games and is probable for tonight’s matchup. Doncic was also able to get a practice in on Monday but still has a questionable tag, so keep an eye on his status throughout the day for updates. One key injury note to watch is Tim Hardaway Jr., who is listed as questionable with a knee injury. Hardaway has yet to miss a game this season, so if he is unable to go, the Mavericks will need Jalen Brunson and others to step up the offensive production for the second unit. Willy Cauley-Stein will not play due to personal reasons. The Nets are still without Kyrie Irving and Joe Harris indefinitely.

The Nets are 12th in the league in offense, averaging 109.5 points per games. Kevin Durant leads the league in scoring with 28.6 points per game. Steve Nash and staff is hoping to see more consistent production out of James Harden, who still seems to be adjusting to the new NBA foul rules. The Mavericks are 21st in offense, averaging 104.5 points per game. The Nets have not performed well against elite talent this season, but they have managed to handle games against the middle- to lower-tier teams.

Dallas is just 3-8 against the spread at home this season and 3-5 as an underdog. Brooklyn is 3-2-1 against the spread after a loss with an 11.8-point margin of victory. Brooklyn is top seven in field goal percentage, free-throw percentage and 3-point percentage. Dallas ranks 26th in opponent 3-point percentage and 27th in opponent field goal percentage. With Hardaway, Doncic and Porzingis working through injuries, Dallas is going to struggle to keep up with Brooklyn’s high-power offense. Take Brooklyn tonight in a bounce-back effort against a banged-up Mavericks squad.

Knicks vs. Spurs

The New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs match up on Tuesday in San Antonio at the AT&T Center. Two teams heading in opposite directions. The New York Knicks look to snap a three-game losing streak. The Spurs look to get back to their winning ways after dropping a close one last night in Phoenix, losing 108-104. Dejounte Murray was the Spurs’ leading scorer with 17 points, 14 assists and six rebounds. All five Spurs starters finished with double figures scoring. Prior to last night’s loss to the Suns, the Spurs had won four straight, including two road wins against the Warriors and Trail Blazers. The Spurs will begin a five-game home stand as they look to improve on their 8-14 record this season.

The Knicks are struggling on the defensive end of the floor, allowing 114.9 points per game over their last three outings. To make matters worse, New York’s offense has not been that impressive, averaging 44.1% from the field this season — 24th in the league. R.J. Barrett is struggling this season shooting 39.6% from the field. Tonight the Knicks will try to turn things around going up against a Spurs team that ranks 23rd in offensive rating. While San Antonio may not be a threat from 3-point range, ranking last in the 3-pointers made per game, they are shooting 46.8% percent from the field, fifth in the league.

Both teams without any major injury concerns. While the Knicks have the rest advantage with the Spurs on the second end of a back-to-back with travel, San Antonio is 5-2 against the spread over their last seven home games and 5-1 against the spread in their last six. The Spurs are playing well as of late, and the Knicks continue to struggle to close out games. Until the Knicks can prove some consistency, the play is to fade New York. Take the underdog at home, and look for the Spurs to pull this one off at home tonight against New York.

Best Bet for Tonight’s Game: San Antonio Spurs +2.5 points
