Packers vs. Saints Game Info
Green Bay Packers (2-0, 1-0 Away) vs. New Orleans Saints (1-1, 1-0 Home)
Date:Â Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020
Time:Â 8:20 p.m. EST
Venue: Mercedes-Benz Superdome – New Orleans, LA
Coverage:Â NBC
The Packers are entering this game with the top offense in the league, scoring 42.5 points per game. They have looked unstoppable through two weeks, but coach Matt LaFleur did come out on Friday to say that Davante Adams is considered doubtful for the game. On an offense that was considered to not have much depth at wide receiver after Adams, could this be Green Bay’s first sign of struggle this season?
On the other side, the Saints may also be without their top receiver, with Michael Thomas not playing last week, and he has not practiced yet. However, the Saints have more names after him that are household names, like Emmanuel Sanders and Jared Cook. We also saw Tre’Quan Smith step up in Thomas’ absence last week, finishing with 86 yards. However, Drew Brees threw just one touchdown in the loss, with many questioning if he has the arm strength capable of leading this Saints team on a deep postseason run.
Neither team has looked overly impressive on the defensive end to start the 2020 season. However, after Brees’ comments on social issues this offseason, Packers’ pass rusher Za’Darius Smith posted an image of this game being on his radar, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
