Identifying edges in the betting market can be tough, which is why OddsShopper by Awesemo.com is here to help. This article focuses on my two favorite NFL picks and prop bets for Sunday Night Football and which sportsbook offers the best odds for each. Let’s right into it.

NFL Odds + NFL Picks: Sunday Night Football Best Bets & Props
NFL Prop #1: Drew Brees OVER 278.5 Passing Yards

The Prop Report is riding an insane heater right now: 8-1 the past five articles, and 5-0 in the past three primetime games. Nick Mullens came up enormous by blowing his passing yardage prop out of the water for us on Monday. And in tonight’s NFC South showdown between the Buccaneers and Saints, we’re going to be swinging big at quarterback again with Drew Brees and the over on his 278.5 passing yards prop.
Let’s start with the obvious: Michael Thomas is scheduled to return tonight after a prolonged absence from a hamstring injury/suspension for fighting a teammate/trade rumors/who-knows-what-else. He’s arguably the most talented wide receiver in all of football, and his presence on the field in any capacity is a huge boost to this Saints offense. And with this (partially true) narrative that Drew Brees can’t throw the ball downfield anymore, the short aDOT nature of Michael Thomas makes it substantially easier to see the Saints targeting him early and often to rack up yardage.
The one thing that keeps me from unloading on this prop is the weather. Twenty mile-per-hour winds with gusts up to thirty is certainly not ideal for accumulating passing yardage. But Alvin Kamara and his insane ability to rack up yards after the catch exists (by far the most in the league at 525), so that certainly helps Brees’ box score to overcome the elements. Overall, the Saints are back to some semblance of their 2019 selves now. And as three-point dogs on the road, I see the Saints leaning on substantial passing game volume to combat a Bucs defense holding their opposition to a ridiculous 70.4 rushing yards per game. I like this even money bet for half a unit tonight.
NFL Prop #2: Latavius Murray OVER 26.5 Rushing Yards

Okay, so this doesn’t play into Brees’ big passing game narrative whatsoever, but hear me out. While the Bucs certainly specialize in stopping the run, Michael Thomas’ existence back in the lineup tonight presents a number of new issues for defenses facing this Saints squad. Just like the best friend of a quarterback is a strong running game, the best friend of a running back is a strong passing game.
And it’s not like Murray has been non-existent this season. He’s currently averaging 40.3 yards on the ground in a shade over 10 carries per game, and there’s upside for more if the elements prove to be a problem. With only 26.5 yards being the number to beat, I see no problem pairing this bet along with the Brees prop. Fire it for half a unit as well.
