Week 12 Wednesday Football Prop Bets | Ravens vs. Steelers

NFL Prop Bet No. 1: Ben Roethlisberger UNDER 276.5 Passing Yards

I didn’t think it would happen, but after countless COVID outbreaks and multiple reschedulings, it’s time for Ravens (6-4) at Steelers (10-0). This AFC North showdown is chock full of postseason implications, as the Steelers sit a game ahead of the surging Chiefs for first in the conference and the Ravens desperately need a win to tie for a final playoff spot. The massive 10.5-point spread in favor of Pittsburgh indicates just how dire the situation has become for Baltimore, who can barely field a team today let alone be competitive on the road with Robert Griffin III at the helm of the offense. And while I’d normally advise taking the points on the double-digit dog in a divisional rivalry game, there’s enough uncertainty surrounding this matchup to make me stay away from betting a side.

Betting Ben Roethlisberger‘s passing yardage prop, however, is a completely different story. The renascence of Roethlisberger in his 17th season cannot be understated. Currently sporting 24 touchdowns to just five interceptions, a 101.4 QB Rating and passing the eye test with some unbelievable deep balls, the future Hall of Famer might be playing some of his best football ever at 38 years of age. But this is a numbers game, and the 276.5 passing yards prop available at BetMGM is simply too high.

As I said before, the Steelers are massive favorites at home. Alarms bells go off in my head every time in these sorts of situations, as big leads support run-heavy game scripts. That means the 38 passing attempts per game Roethlisberger has averaged so far this season might be a tad high to expect today, especially considering he threw the ball only 32 times for a measly 182 yards against this same Ravens defense in Week 8. I certainly expect more than that from him today, but at only a 253.4 yards per game average for the season, there’s still a ton of room between that and 276.5. I recommend one unit on the under here in anticipation of the beatdown.

NFL Prop Bet No. 2: Gus Edwards OVER 40.5 Rushing Yards AND Justice Hill OVER 19.5 Yards

I’m going to keep this brief. While there was news floating around that running backs Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins would be activated off the COVID-19 list before Wednesday’s game, neither made the flight to Pittsburgh yesterday. That means a steady stream of carries are on the way for Gus Edwards this afternoon, with Justice Hill sprinkled in. Awesemo’s projections currently peg Edwards for nearly 80 yards rushing and Hill for 40, so it’s easy to see why I’m bullish on hammering both overs here.

Warning: I fully expect these lines to get bet up — or possibly even taken off the board — so get two-plus units on both immediately. Hill’s prop is only available on William Hill right now, but it’s certainly worth the time to sign up with such an advantageous number.
