Venue: FedExField — Landover, Md.

Week 1 was a rough one for the Giants. Hosting the Broncos, New York could not get their running game going, so all of the pressure was put on the arm of Daniel Jones. While he did look improved, he still could not do enough to put up points. Part of the issue was the red-zone offense, as the Giants went 0-2 in their red-zone trips prior to a last-second touchdown. Defensively, they were carved up by Teddy Bridgewater, and they gave up a huge run to Melvin Gordon. While they are better than what the final score showed, it may not be by much.
Washington suffered more than a loss on the scoreboard. Ryan Fitzpatrick exited early with a hip injury, and he does not have a clear timetable for his return. This means Taylor Heinicke will get the start once again. He looked more than capable in Week 1, and he should be able to move the ball against New York. Defensively, there is no doubt that Washington has a strong unit. However, they did not show it in Week 1. They allowed the Chargers to convert on 14 of 19 third-down opportunities, which is an easy way to lose the game.
