The Titans won the Jadeveon Clowney sweepstakes, and he will help to solidify what was already a talented defense. Tennessee ranked 11th in scoring defense last season, and that was in part due to an offense that was very efficient in running the football, led by the league’s rushing leader, Derrick Henry. The bruiser went on an absolute tear down the stretch of last season, averaging 149.1 rushing yards over his final nine games. His success is vital to this entire team’s success, as the passing game is set up by the threat of Henry.

The Broncos entered this season with the most money invested in their defense in the league. Unfortunately, their leader, Von Miller, went down with an injury that will keep him out at least three months. Losing Miller is obviously a blow to their pass rush, but it is a domino effect on the rest of the defensive front, with the offensive line now calling out Bradley Chubb or someone else pre-snap.

Things went from bad to worse for Denver. While their defense had all the money invested in it, they built their offense primarily through the draft. They have an inexperienced receiving corps, outside of Courtland Sutton. He was also injured in practice this week. While it is not season ending, he is likely out for Monday. This places a lot of pressure on the two top wide receivers, who are rookies, and the quarterback, who is in his second season. They better hope they play beyond their years here.
