Best NBA Bets Today & Player Prop Picks from Awesemo Data Scientists | Hornets & Danilo Gallinari 3/25/22

The Phoenix Suns ensured themselves of entering the NBA playoffs with the best record by defeating the Denver Nuggets 140-130 last night behind Devin Booker‘s 49 points to cap off a slate of games that saw each of the five end with a double-digit differential. While the Miami Heat can’t clinch anything, they will look to increase their lead in the Eastern Conference tonight, as the Milwaukee Bucks moved to within one game with a 114-102 victory over the Washington Wizards. Heat – Knicks is just one of seven matchups on the league’s docket, headlined by the Dallas Mavericks at the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Best NBA Bets Today: Player Props & Expert Betting Picks

Hornets Spread (+4) Over Jazz

Charlotte and Atlanta can’t seem to get any separation from each other. The Hornets sit in ninth place in the Eastern Conference, one game ahead of the Hawks as well as one game behind the Nets. Meanwhile, the Jazz are in a dogfight with the Mavericks for the fourth and fifth seeds in the Western Conference.

Charlotte had its five-game winning streak snapped by New York the last time out. The Hornets continued to shoot the ball well but struggled mightily on the defensive end, as the Knicks connected on 51.8% of their shots, including 20 3-pointers at a 44.4% clip. Terry Rozier continues to play at an elite level.

Utah has stumbled lately, as they have dealt with several injuries. The Jazz have lost two straight and are just 6-6 over their last 12. Five of those losses have been on the road, where they have been outscored by over 7 points a game. Offense has been a problem for them away from home during this stretch. The Jazz are averaging slightly over 103 points while shooting less than 42% from the field and 34.4% from the 3-point line over their last seven road contests. These numbers are significantly down from their season road season average. Rudy Gobert has been a non-factor offensively for most of the season, and the Jazz will not have the services of Bojan Bogdanovic (calf) and possibly Hassan Whiteside (foot).

The point spread has increased since the opening line. Charlotte has played decently well at home this season (19-18). Meanwhile, Utah has failed to cover the spread in 21 of 36 road games.

Pistons Moneyline (-180) Over Wizards

Even though Washington still has a slim shot at a playoff berth, they have been playing like their season will end in a couple of weeks. The Wizards are just 3-11 since the All-Star break, including losing each of their eight road games during this stretch by an average of 10 points. Offense has been a problem for them on the road, as they are averaging 103 points on 45% of shooting during this stretch. Plus, the Wizards played last night and won’t have Kyle Kuzma (knee) for a second straight game. They are 1-4 without Kuzma in the lineups this year, with each of the setbacks being by 4 or more points.

Meanwhile, the Pistons have been playing decently well of late and have been much better at home than on the road. Detroit is 4-4 at home in their last eight games, and they have won seven of 15 games since the All-Star break. Cade Cunningham has been playing well lately, while Jerami Grant, Saddiq Bey and Marvin Bagley are nice complement players during this stretch. OddsShopper gives the Pistons a 58% chance of winning the game.

Nicolas Batum Over 6.5 Points

This is probably Batum’s lowest prop total of the season. Batum has seen his minutes reduced the past few games as Robert Covington has seen more time on the floor and now that Marcus Morris Sr. is healthy. But the point total seems a little low, and Covington (hand) is questionable for the game. Batum is coming off a nice game in limited minutes against the Nuggets on Tuesday with 9 points and five rebounds. He has tallied at least 8 points in two of his last three games and averages 7.5 points for the month. Batum is projected for 7.48 points tonight against the 76ers. OddsShopper gives the over a 58% chance of hitting and an expected ROI of 19%.
