Top Money Making NBA Betting Picks Tonight | 3/10/2022

The NBA has a really small slate of games today, although both contests are super games with major playoff implications. Each will be televised on TNT. The Nets and the 76ers will get things started in Philadelphia at 7:30 p.m. (ET). Philadelphia sits half  game behind Milwaukee, as they are tied for the third-best record in the Eastern Conference with Boston and Chicago. Meanwhile, Kevin Durant helped the Nets snap a four-game losing streak on Tuesday and, in doing so, got them back to .500 (33-3). Brooklyn is in eighth place in the conference, though they are still waiting on Ben Simmons to make his debut. The struggling Warriors will face the surging Nuggets in the nightcap.

76ers Moneyline (-190) Over Nets; Over 235 Points

This game should be a lot of fun and contentious, with the game being James Harden‘s first facing one of his former teams. Brooklyn will have Durant and Kyrie Irving, so there should be a bunch of points on the scoreboard.

Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey seem to be really enjoying playing with Harden. The 76ers are 5-0 with Harden in the lineup, and they have topped 120 points in each of those games and won by 6 or more points. Harden has recorded three double-doubles and a triple-double while averaging nearly 25 points, 12.4 assists and 7.6 rebounds with the team. Embiid has continued to play like an MVP candidate and is coming off a 43-point performance in the Sixers’ win over the Bulls on Monday, marking his third 30-point outing in the last six contests. Meanwhile, Maxey is playing like he did at the beginning of the season and is averaging 23.5 points on 59.5% shooting from the field and 61.2% from beyond the arc.

Brooklyn can really score the ball, though they continue to struggle on the defensive end. The Nets have scored at least 120 points in two of the three games since Durant has returned from injury. However, they have also given up 113 or more points in each of those three games. Durant has shot the ball decently and topped the 30-point plateau twice, although he has had difficulty with turnovers. Irving has also been on fire in the three games that he has played following the All-Star break, averaging 35.7 points on 58.7% shooting from the field and 54.2% from long distance.

Warriors and Nuggets Under 228 Points

The Warriors and Nuggets have been trending in opposite directions lately. They met on Monday, with Denver coming out on top 131-124 over a shorthanded Golden State team with Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Stephen Curry among the players sitting out. While Thompson, Wiggins and Curry are slated to play, the Warriors still will not be at full staff; Andre Iguodala, Gary Payton II and Otto Porter remain sidelined, along with Draymond Green and James Wiseman.

Denver has been terrific since the All-Star break, winning four straight and posting a 7-1 record, as they have been exceptionally efficient offensively. The Nuggets averaged nearly 121 points while shooting over 50% from the field. Nikola Jokic has been the catalyst during this stretch, averaging 30 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists a game. Defensively, they have held their opponents to 52.7% effective field goal percentage and have done a fantastic job rebounding the ball on that end of the floor. Meanwhile, the Warriors are one of the best defensive teams in the league despite their recent lull, and they turned in a spectacular performance in their last outing against the Clippers. Curry and Thompson have struggled offensively as well. Plus, several Nugget players are dealing with injury issues, with Will Barton, Jeff Green and Bones Hyland questionable. OddsShopper gives the under a 55% chance of hitting and an expected ROI of 5%.

Nicolas Claxton Over 5.5 Points

This is an even-money bet (+100). Claxton could get some extended run if Andre Drummond gets into foul trouble banging with Embiid as LaMarcus Aldridge remains sideline. Claxton has not been very efficient lately, but he has played well against the Sixers. In three games this season, he is averaging 10 points on 63.8% shooting from the field. Claxton is projected for 8.13 points. OddsShopper gives the over a 70% chance of hitting and an expected ROI of 43%.
