Oklahoma City Thunder Spread (+9.0) Over Washington Wizards

Neither team enters the game in good form, so there are two big questions heading into tonight’s game. First, and most importantly, can the Wizards finally find some consistency? Washington (20-20) is just 4-6 in its last 10 games, including splitting its last six home games. The Wizards are clearly the more talented and more explosive offensive team here. The Wizards will also almost have the entire band together, as Montrezl Harrell (health and safety reconditioning) is expected to return after missing several games. However, Washington is coming off just a 2-point road victory over offensively challenged Orlando on Sunday, as the Wizards shot just 40% from the field.

The second main question is, can Oklahoma City score? While the Thunder have demonstrated they will bring it every night on the defensive end, their problem is putting the ball in the basket. The Thunder have held their last 10 opponents to a solid 51.1% effective field goal percentage, but they have won only three of those games as they have only produced a league-worst 47.2% effective goal percentage. Meanwhile, Washington has given up 117 points over their last five games, as their opponents have connected on 47.2% of their field goal attempts. Oklahoma City will not have the services of Kenrich Williams or Isaiah Roby.

Saying that, the Wizards are not 10 points better than the Thunder, even though they should win. The Wizards defeated the Thunder by 2 points earlier in Oklahoma City. Moreover, just 40% of the Wizards games have been decided by double digits, with Washington picking up only five victories (16 games). Conversely, Oklahoma City is 25-14 against the spread, while Washington is 1-10-1 against the spread in their last 12 games versus teams with a losing record. OddsShopper gives the Thunder a 54% chance of covering and an expected ROI of 8%.

Golden State Warriors Moneyline (-125) Over Memphis Grizzlies

This game should be fantastic as it features two of the best teams in the league. Golden State is the league’s best defensive though the Warriors have shown some vulnerability on that end of the floor lately. However, the Warriors turned in a spectacular performance on Sunday, holding the Cavaliers to a season-low 82 points on 42.2% shooting from the field and 29.2% from beyond the arc while also forcing 18 turnovers. Klay Thompson was tremendous in his return after a two-absence as he finished with 17 points despite being limited to 20 minutes of floor time. Thompson is a boon to the Warriors, though they will be without Draymond Green (calf) tonight while Otto Porter (shoulder) and Gary Payton II (ankle) are questionable. Golden State is 6-4 in its last 10 games.

Memphis has been red-hot, winning nine straight since falling at Golden State (113-104) on Dec. 23. The Grizzlies have produced the league’s fourth-best offensive and sixth-best defensive ratings during their winning streak. However, the Grizzlies will be without Dillon Brooks (ankle) and possibly Steven Adams (health and safety).

The teams split their two games in San Francisco, but the Grizzlies have no one to check Stephen Curry and Thompson. In those two contests, Curry put up 82 points on 47.1% shooting from the field and 44.1% from beyond the arc. OddsShopper gives the Warriors a 58% chance of winning the game and an expected ROI of 5%.

Ivica Zubac Over 7.5 Rebounds

Zubac has been rebounding the ball well since Paul George has been sidelined, and he has an excellent matchup against Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. Zubac is averaging 10 rebounds over his last 10 games, and he has recorded four double-figure rebound games and grabbed at least eight boards in six of his previous eight outings. A big reason for his big rebound numbers is his work on the offensive glass, as Zubac has totaled 27 rebounds on that end of the floor over the last six games. He is posting career highs in rebounds (eight) and offensive rebounds (2.8) per game.

Zubac is projected for 8.27 rebounds tonight. He had 17 points and 11 boards (four offensive) in 28 minutes the last time the Clippers and Nuggets played. Centers are averaging 13 rebounds a game against the Nuggets, including four on the offensive end this year. OddsShopper gives the over a 67% chance of hitting and an expected ROI of 34%.

Nikola Jokic Over 13.5 Rebounds

Jokic has been an animal on the boards over the last month. He has averaged 15.5 rebounds since Dec. 11, as he has brought down at least 16 rebounds in eight of 13 games during this stretch. Jokic collected 22 rebounds in the first meeting against the Clippers and is projected for 15.06 tonight. OddsShopper gives the over a 66% chance of hitting and an expected ROI of 32%.
