Best NBA Bets Today: Player Props & Expert Betting Picks

Spurs vs. Pelicans Over 232.0 Points

This important contest is the first game of the night with a 5:00 p.m (ET) tip. The Spurs and Pelicans are battling with the Lakers for the final two play-in spots in the Western Conference. Expect this game to be a fun and hard-fought affair.

San Antonio (29-44) sits in 10th place in the conference, although the Spurs are just 1.5 games behind the Lakers and the Pelicans. The Spurs have won each of their first two games of a four-game road trip with victories over the Warriors and Trail Blazers. This is only their third game of the week.

San Antonio is 6-8 since the all-star break. The Spurs have increased their scoring by five points a game in the second half of the season as they have gotten to the foul line a lot more. While their scoring is up over their last 14 games, especially on the road where they are averaging over 122 points in their last six contests, the Spurs are giving up more points. The Spurs’ defense has given up 120 points on 49% shooting from the field and 37.7% from the 3-point line since the all-star break.

New Orleans (31-42) is tied for ninth in the conference with the Lakers.  The Pelicans have won three of their last four games. They are 8-6 since the all-star break as they have been excellent on the offensive end, registering a 54.9% effective field goal percentage and a 32.2% offensive rebound rate during this stretch. However, they have continued to struggle on the defensive end. There is a chance that Brandon Ingram could play for the first time since March 6.

The point total has dropped 1.5 points since the opening line. The Pelicans and Spurs just met on March 18 with the Pelicans coming out as they put up 124 points. Moreover, the Pelicans average 120 points at home over their last seven games, and the teams combined for 238 points the last time they met in New Orleans. Furthermore, the over has hit in 22 of the 37 games at Smoothie King Arena.

Bulls Moneyline (+120) Over Cavaliers: Over 223.0 Points

Chicago holds a 1.0 game lead over Cleveland and Toronto for the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference. Taking the Bulls is a good bet only if DeMar DeRozan ( left abductor) plays and that scenario is likely. Alex Caruso (lower back) is also expected to play.

Chicago (42-31) is struggling down the stretch as they have dropped five of their last six. Injuries and major defensive woes have been a huge problem for the Bulls. They also have not played well on the road, going 1-5 away from home since the all-star break. However, the Bulls are getting healthier and the did beat Cleveland (101-91) in Chicago on March 12.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers (41-32) are in a deadlock with the Raptors for the conference’s last non-playin spot. Like the Bulls, the Cavs have struggled lately as they remain without Jarrett Allen. Cleveland has lost two straight and five of eight. Defense has also been a major issue for them, particularly on the interior.

The point spread has increased three points since the morning line.

Damian Jones Over 10.5 Points

Jones has gotten the start and saw increased minutes the last few games for the Kings with Richaun Holmes and Domantas Sabonis sidelined. He possesses a nice yet limited offensive game. Jones has scored in double figures in each of his last two games and averages 10.6 points on 76.9% shooting from the field in his seven starts this season. He is projected for 12.85 points tonight in an excellent matchup against the Magic. OddsShopper gives the over a 65% chance of hitting with an expected ROI of 20%.
