Most Profitable NBA Round 2 Playoffs Bets For Friday 5/6/22

Tonight is a huge night for both conferences teams that are facing each of the No. 1 seeds, as the home teams could end up down 3-0 in their series. The 76ers will look to avoid that fate against the Heat as they return to the City of Brotherly Love for the first time since falling to the Raptors in Game 5 of the first round. The Sixers lost both of the first two games by double figures and will once again be without Joel Embiid. Meanwhile, the Mavericks have not been overly competitive in their first two games. Phoenix put up 69 points in the first half and coasted the rest of the way. Then on Wednesday, after trailing by 1 at halftime, the Suns put 70 points on the board, including 40 in the fourth, and they won by 20.

Best NBA Bets and Player Props Today

Heat Spread (-3) over 76ers

While there have been only two games played, it is evident that Miami is going to win the series. The only question is, will the Heat have a hiccup or two? That will likely depend on if Embiid is able to play in either of the next two games in Philadelphia. The point spread has increased by a half point since the morning line. OddsShopper gives Miami a 55% chance of winning the game. Embiid has officially cleared concussion protocols though it remains unclear whether he will play.

Miami is the much deeper team and Bam Adebayo has had his way against the 76ers, tallying 20 points and grabbing nine rebounds in each of the two games. Adebayo is averaging 23.5 points, 10.5 rebounds (3.0 offensive) and 3.5 assists while shooting over 71% from the field in the conference semifinals. He is also 17-for-19 at the charity stripe in the last two contests. He has scored at least 20 points in each of his last three games.

While Adebayo has been the catalyst, Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler are also having strong series. Miami is averaging 112.5 points on 47% shooting from the field through the first two games. The Heat are doing an excellent job getting into the paint, hitting the offensive boards and getting to the free-throw line. Meanwhile, the Heat defense has been able to stymie the 76ers by handcuffing James Harden. Harden is shooting just 39.1% from the field and 25% from the 3-point line and turning the ball over eight times. Miami has completely shut down the Sixers from the 3-point line and has limited their free-throw attempts. Plus, there is a chance that Kyle Lowry (hamstring) will play for the first time this series.

Suns Moneyline (-110) Over Mavericks

This game has the potential to be the best of the series thus far. The contest is at American Airlines Center, where Dallas has one of the best home records in the league. The Mavericks are 2-1 there in the postseason, having dispatched Utah 102-77 in Game 5 of the first round.

However, Phoenix has handled Dallas pretty easily this year. The Suns have won all five of their meetings this year by at least 7 points and have won 11 straight overall. The Suns have had one big half in each of the previous two games this year, winning Game 2 129-109 after putting up over 70 points over the last 24 minutes. OddsShopper gives the Suns a 53% chance of winning the game tonight and a 1% return on investment.

Devin Booker, Chris Paul, Deandre Ayton, Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson have all been stellar offensively for Phoenix. However, it is the sterling defensive job that the Suns have done on everyone but Luka Doncic that has stood out. This specifically speaks to the defense on Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwiddie, who is shooting under 33% from the field over the first two games. Doncic has scored 80 of the Mavs’ 223 points in the series.

Other Top NBA Bets Today

  • P.J. Tucker Over 6.5 Points
  • Danny Green Under 7.5 Points
  • Spencer Dinwiddie Over 2.5 Rebounds
