UFC 263: Adesanya vs. Vettori Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

Deiveson Figueiredo -220 (William Hill)

Starting right away with one of the two title fights on this card, Deiveson Figueiredo stands out as a sharp pick over Brandon Moreno. With the line moving against Figueiredo, waiting to hit this line may prove advantageous. Previously fighting in December, the original bout ended in a draw after Figueiredo lost a point for groin strikes. While Figueiredo won the fight without a point deduction, a number of factors worked against him in that bout. Typically training from Brazil, the short notice nature of the bout kept Figueiredo in the United States. He also had to be hospitalized the night prior to his title defense after a nasty weight cut. Despite the troubles, Figueiredo still managed to get off 137 strikes and a pair of takedowns against Moreno. He finished four straight fights prior to the first Moreno bout. For those looking for better odds, Figueiredo by knockout at +175 also looks enticing.

Lauren Murphy +120 (BetMGM)

Lauren Murphy enters this bout on a four-fight winning streak and is taking on another potential title contender In Joanne Calderwood. Forgoing a chance at a title shot last year, Calderwood lost to Jennifer Maia via submission before winning her most recent fight. While Calderwood is a formidable striker, Murphy has a distinct advantage on the mat. Murphy isn’t much of a submission threat, but she averages 1.18 takedowns per bout. Calderwood has 58% takedown defense, creating a direct path for Murphy to win rounds. While Calderwood’s path to victory is her striking, Murphy has an above-average 63% striking defense. As a slight underdog, Murphy’s well-rounded game gets the job here against Calderwood and makes for a solid UFC betting pick this weekend.

Brad Riddell +125 (William Hill)

A true striker’s paradise, Brad Riddell faces Drew Dober as the featured bout on the UFC 263 prelims. Dober is fresh off a loss to Islam Makhachev, again displaying his weaknesses on the mat. On the other side, Riddell enters this bout on a three-fight winning streak. An experienced kickboxer and Muay Thai striker, Riddell has the technical ability to stand and trade with Dober. While Riddell relies on his striking, he has also landed a takedown in each of his UFC fights. Riddell could fall back on Dober’s 55% takedown defense to win rounds despite not relying on submission game much. From a striking perspective, Riddell averages more significant strikes per minute with better accuracy than Dober. Dober has the edge in UFC experience, but Riddell can fall back on an experienced career outside the UFC. This fight should be a pick-’em, so getting Riddell at +125 UFC betting odds provides solid value on this card.
