FREE EXPERT UFC LONDON PICKS TONIGHT: Must-Bet MMA Picks for Volkov vs. Aspinall | Saturday 3/19/22

The UFC is traveling to London this week for their first trip outside of the United States besides Fight Island in Abu Dhabi since the pandemic started in early 2020. Obviously, since the card is in London, the UFC tried to get as many UK fighters on the card as possible, including the heavyweight main event where countryman Tom Aspinall will look to vault up the rankings when he faces perennial top-5 heavyweight Alexander Volkov. A lot of the fights have very juiced moneylines of -350 or wider, which are only good for parlay building blocks, but there are a couple of live underdogs and multiple UFC props that can be taken advantage of. This gives bettors multiple ways to bet when making their UFC picks tonight. As always, when shopping for the best UFC betting odds and lines, make sure to use OddsShopper to find the top odds at various sportsbooks. It is easily the best sports betting tool when it comes to shopping for the top ROI odds for the fights, and it will save bettors a lot of money in the long run. Below are my UFC picks tonight when filling out your betting card. Let’s dig into some of the best UFC London predictions, picks and best bets for this amazing card for UFC London: Volkov vs. Aspinall.

Expert UFC London Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Tonight

Mike Grundy vs. Makwan Amirkhani

In a matchup and very talented featherweights, England’s own Mike Grundy will take on Mr. Finland, Makwan Amirkhani. Grundy is best known for his wrestling prowess winning a bronze medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Olympic Freestyle wrestling. That success hasn’t totally translated to the UFC, as he has a 1-2 record but won his UFC debut in this same arena in 2019 with a TKO finish of Nad Narimani. Amirkhani has lost four of his last five UFC fights, most recently getting knocked out in the second round by Lerone Murphy. Do not be fooled, however, Amirkhani is an extremely dangerous fighter, especially in the early rounds. He is wrestling-based as well but he is most known for his front chokes. Four of his six UFC wins have come by submission, and all of them in the first or second round. Amirkhani has very poor cardio because he exerts so much energy trying to get the fight to mat, that he has nothing left by the second half of the second round. It is very possible he can catch Grundy in a transition and submit him especially in the first round. If the fight gets extended and it Amirkhani tires, Grundy can take over with his wrestling and power and potentially finish this fight. I was a bit surprised to see plus-money on the fight not going to distance considering Amirkhani is basically a kill-or-be-killed fighter.

Best UFC Pick Tonight: Grundy/Amirkhani Does Not Go To Decision +145 (FanDuel)

Nikita Krylov vs. Paul Craig

In a battle of light heavyweights, Ukraine’s Nikita Krylov will take on Scottish submission artist Paul Craig. This fight should be binary to break down with a striker against grappler matchup. However, watching tape on Krylov, he basically shoots for takedowns in every fight regardless of opponent. If Krylov goes into this fight with the same game plan and tries to take Craig down, he will be entering Craig’s world. No one has more triangle submissions in UFC Light Heavyweight history than Craig, and most of them have come off his back. If Krylov just tried to stand and trade with Craig he is very live for a knockout. Craig’s striking has gotten better over the years, but it is far from his best attribute inside the octagon. Craig, on the other hand, will look to take Krylov down and hunt for submissions. Besides triangles he has an armbar and a rear naked choke on his resume. An issue I have with Craig is if he does get taken down and can’t find the submission, he does not look to get up. That being said, Krylov has been known to put himself in disadvantageous spots on the mat before. So while it may not be the binary fight, it should be the bet here if someone gets finished.

Best UFC Pick Tonight: Krylov/Craig Fight Won’t Start Round 3 -112 (FanDuel)
