The Heaters: UFC Fight Island 8 MMA Betting Picks
Manon Fiorot -200
I know this may sound crazy, but Manon Fiorot should win this fight handily. Fiorot is a ferocious striker with aggressive intent and a well-rounded skillset. I don’t love the line at -200, but I think she should dominate this matchup.
Mounir Lazzez -230
I know these picks are at minus money, but rightfully so. I feel confident in Mounir Lazzez‘s skillset, and I think the UFC might have a contender here. Warlley Alves is a tough opponent and won’t go down without a fight, I just think Lazzez can beat him in all facets of the game. This is not the most value on this card in terms of betting, but I feel good about a Lazzez win at -230.
Michael Chiesa by Submission +325
Look, I’m not in love with the prop bets this week, but I have to highlight a possibility. I expect both Michael Chiesa and Neil Magny to have moments in this bout, but it’s clear, Chiesa needs to close the gap and implement takedowns. Magny needs to keep this fight at range on the feet and refuse to be put on his back. Magny has shown some deficiencies when he is put on his back, and he has been submitted by the likes of Rafael dos Anjos, Demian Maia and Sergio Moraes. Chiesa completely outclassed dos Anjos on the mat, with suffocating top control. Chiesa shouldn’t welcome the idea of going five rounds with the high-paced Magny. We have plus money for Chiesa’s quick victory path at +325.
