Week 12 Thanksgiving Day NFL Picks + NFL Odds Boosts To Watch | Ezekiel Elliott + Deshaun Watson

When it comes to NFL betting, there is often few better wagers to gamble on than NFL odds boosts. They are bets that are exactly what they sound like: promotions from sportsbooks that move the odds in your favor on certain bets. Most of them are the specific prop bets that you might be searching for by yourself, and oftentimes the odds are fairly enticing. Rarely can you make a lot of money on these bets because of limits, but our job is to highlight the best NFL prop bets and NFL picks to wager on every weeks. We scour the internet trying to find the best NFL odds boosts for you every day from every sport. Today we feast on the Thanksgiving Day duo of contests now that Baltimore-Pittsburgh has been postponed.

On the face of it, the two games we have on Thanksgiving Day aren’t the most attractive options on the Week 12 slate. However, there are several excellent odds boost options on the market for your Thanksgiving Day betting picks before you settle in for that nap. The early game between the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions offers plenty of excellent chances to win some money early in the day with Deshaun Watson. The Texans quarterback has quietly had a great season and he’ll have a chance to show off against the Lions defense. In the afternoon contest, Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys are a good spot to place your money on Thanksgiving Day after their big win last week.

NFL Odds: Thanksgiving Day NFL Picks + Prop Bets

NFL Picks: Ezekiel Elliott 60+ Rushing Yards & Rushing Touchdown (+180 PointsBet)

Last week was a big breakthrough for Elliott and the Cowboys offense as the running back had his first 100-yard game of the season. Elliott has also showed off on Thanksgiving Day typically with at least 71 yards in all three of his Turkey Day appearances and three touchdowns. Washington is the best passing defenses in the league statistically, but is in the middle of the pack against the run. Dallas made it clear last week that it wanted to be a run-first football team again, which bodes well for this particular matchup. Elliott has only eclipsed 60 yards in half of his games, but the running back we saw tear apart Minnesota last week was eons better than the version of Elliott we saw in the first half of the season.

Elliott has five rushing touchdowns in 10 games this season, but he hasn’t scored on the ground in the last five weeks. That feels like it should change on Thanksgiving as Dallas settles into an offense without Dak Prescott that features a legitimate NFL starter under center. The Cowboys offense we saw last week was vastly different than the one we saw in the four weeks after Prescott’s injury, which gives me confidence that Elliott will return to the form we expected from him this season. If he gets another 20-25 touches against Washington, it will be difficult for him not to find the end zone at least once on the ground.

NFL Picks: Deshaun Watson 2+ Passing Touchdowns & Texans Win (+110 PointsBet)

Watson has thrown multiple touchdown passes in seven of his last eight games, and that one exception was in miserable Cleveland weather two weeks ago. Otherwise, he has been keeping the Texans offense afloat with his arm and he has the perfect matchup this week against Detroit. The Lions rank 25th against the pass and the secondary has been exposed by P.J. Walker and Alex Smith over the last two weeks. Watson arguably has some better weapons around him than either of those two signal callers and he’s thrown for 300 yards in five of his last seven games.

Houston’s offense is completely dependent on Watson as the Texans rank dead last in rushing yards per game and second-to-last in rushing attempts per game. David Johnson does have three touchdown runs, but it has otherwise been Watson’s arm doing most of the scoring. Having Will Fuller and Brandin Cooks has given the Texans a strong one-two punch at receiver, but Randall Cobb and Darren Fells have also caught three touchdowns apiece for Houston. The Patriots defense couldn’t slow down this Houston offense last week, so Detroit has little chance to do much better this week.

NFL Picks: Brandin Cooks 68.5+ Receiving Yards & Texans Win (+235 DraftKings)

Cooks is an interesting pick for this wager because he really is the secondary wide receiver in Houston behind Fuller. However, he does have 68 or more receiving yards in four of his last six games and he had at least eight targets in five straight games before last week. He isn’t as much of a scoring threat as Fuller, but he’s equally likely to see plenty of passes coming his way on Thanksgiving. The Lions allowed a pair of 70-yard receivers last week and the week before, Washington had four players with at least 50 yards.

NFL Picks: Either Game Goes To Overtime (+400 PointsBet)

On such a festive holiday, I decided to throw in a bonus odds boost just to whet the appetite. Chances are the Texans will beat the Lions without the need for extra time, but Dallas and Washington could very well need overtime to decide things. You need to go back to 2005 for the last time a Thanksgiving Day game went to overtime, but that year was also the last time there were only two games on the holiday. Plus, it was the Cowboys who went to overtime on that day only to lose to Denver. So if you have a few extra bucks to spend with a small chance for profit, this is a great spot.
