While the Millionaire Maker for PGA DFS is still the back burner, that doesn’t mean there aren’t life-changing amounts of money to be won and interesting fantasy golf picks to be made. In fact, this week it’s the biggest prize pool this year, with $1 million guaranteed and $250,000 going to first place. There will be 156 players teeing it up at the Farmers Insurance Open, so we’ll have plenty of options with which to go against the grain in DraftKings PGA and FanDuel PGA contests.

Farmers Insurance Open Fantasy Golf Picks | DraftKings + FanDuelÂ
PGA DFS Picks: $9,000+
- 12 Golfers
- Total ownership of around 175%
It is no surprise to see the highest number of golfers at $9,000 or above this week with the strongest field set to play. But the ownership isn’t following all that much, or at least not as much as we’ve seen in recent weeks. The total for the golfers at or above $9,000 is around 175%, with 30% of it going to San Diego’s own Xander Schauffele. Seen as the easiest option to get into lineups up here, it’s no surprise to see his ownership spike a bit. Next is Jon Rahm, who is in a bit of a tricky spot, having to withdraw last week due to a sore back. Then there’s Rory McIlroy, who is also trending over 20% even after his long trip out in Abu Dhabi.
After these three, though, there is a bit of ownership drop-off as Harris English and Hideki Matsuyama aren’t projected much higher than 15%. A week after he was the chalk of the slate, Scottie Scheffler is trending to be under 15% owned, and it’s not like he missed the cut by much; he missed it on the number. Others like Viktor Hovland, Sungjae Im and Matthew Wolff are all projected around the 10%. That’ll leave us a couple of few under 10% owned this week: Brooks Koepka, Tony Finau and Patrick Reed.Â

In fact, I actually like all three of the golfers that are projected under 10%. Finau is a price thing, as his form is great. Reed is coming in off a missed cut and no salary decrease, and Koepka is seen as out of form. I’ll buy into all three.

PGA DFS Picks: Nos. 12-33 Priced Golfers ($7,500-$8,900)
- 25 Golfers
- Total ownership 245%
This event’s real meat and potatoes come in this section, as 25 golfers fit the description. They total roughly 250% ownership, leaving the smallest amount for the next section. While the total ownership may be high, there aren’t that many golfers that I’d consider chalky. Corey Conners seems to be leading the way, coming in close to 20%. Jason Kokrak, at a reasonable price, checks in at around 15% ownership, as does Cameron Davis, who had his best finish on the PGA Tour last week with a solo third.
Billy Horschel, who had a hot putter and driver in Hawaii, is also in this 15% owned range, as is Ryan Palmer. In this range, seven others are projecting around 10% this week, including Gary Woodland and Francesco Molinari, both of whom had their best start in a long while last week.
Speaking of their best start in a while, last week’s winner, Si Woo Kim, is also projected to be around 11% owned, the same as defending champion of this event Marc Leishman. Cameron Champ and Carlos Ortiz are also both projected to be 10% owned this week.
That’ll leave us 13 choices that should be at or under 10% owned this week. A few that I am interested in this week are:
- Jason Day
- Sam Burns
- Louis Oosthuizen
- Emiliano Grillo
- Will Zalatoris
- Jordan Spieth
- Byeong Hun An.
PGA DFS Picks: The Rest ($7,400 and Below)
- 114 golfers
- Total ownership 180%
With the added golfers in the field, it should be no surprise that we have the largest pool of players to choose from below $7,400. More than 110 golfers are in this tier, and only one should get over 10% public ownership: Jon Huh. Others that are comfortably going to get over 5% but not 10% are:
- Tom Hoge
- Joel Dahmen
- Matt Jones
- Max Homa
- Mackenzie Hughes
- Jhonattan Vegas
- Harry Higgs.
Still, with plenty of quality golfers left to pick from (most of them under 5% owned), we can find value with one of:
- Wyndham Clark
- Justin Suh
- Cameron Tringale
- Doug Ghim
- Luke List
- Adam Hadwin
