Another splendid day of action out on Honolulu, with Russell Henley in pole position heading into the weekend. With the conditions being easier than normal, we knew the day would yield a few low rounds. Going into Round 3, Henley had just two golfers within four shots, but after an average Saturday round of 68, there are now seven golfers within that number. Let’s recap the third round and take a look at how we need to be structuring our Round 4 fantasy golf lineups and go over some of the best PGA DFS picks for the final round of the 2022Sony Open today.

Sony Open Round 3 Recap
Hideki Matsuyama adds a big name to the top of the leaderboard with the best round of the day, a 63, the only one to go that low today. Lucas Glover, Russell Knox, and surprise name Ben Kohles all came in with 64. The course is getting noticeably firmer and faster, thus affecting the scoring average by quite a bit.

Going into the final round, the leaderboard is so tight outside of the top 7 golfers that looking at golfers that are in a Tie for 32nd or better isn’t out of the question.
- Talor Gooch ($9,500): One of the hottest players on the planet right now, Gooch has been slowly working into his game this week. A great close to his Saturday with a few late birdies, Gooch has gained strokes in all four facets of the game thru three rounds. So while the win for Gooch may be out of the question, the top five certainly isn’t.
- Keith Mitchell ($7,700): Speaking of catching fire late in the round, Mitchell did just that, birdieing three of his last four holes. He did that by gaining strokes through the bag in a well-balanced attack. He could match Gooch and get into the top five and be a pivotal piece in tomorrow’s round.
- Seamus Power ($9,200):Â The total transformation of Power’s game into a steady contender on the PGA Tour is quite remarkable. He’s not just doing it in one statistical measurement, but a well-balanced game thriving in all areas. He finds himself in the top 5 heading into Sunday. Granted, he’s expected to be higher owned but is worth it at this point.
- Kyle Stanley ($6,900): This equation is simple. His ball-striking looks elite like it does so often, but his putter is so bad. Maybe one Sunday, this Sunday it won’t be.
