Having a variety of viewpoints and data points can be both a curse and a blessing. In this article, I sift through all the data and give you top picks from all four statistical angles that make up PGA DFS. The swing season continues with the CJ Cup and our first no-cut event of the season. This year’s host will be the Summit Club in Las Vegas, the first time a PGA Tour event will be held at this venue. Therefore, there is no course history section to apply this week.

Data Deep Dive & PGA DFS Picks for The CJ Cup

Recent Form

While Dustin Johnson has not been in the winner’s circle since winning the green jacket almost a year ago, he is one of only two PGA Tour golfers in the field to have four top-10s in the past 12 weeks. That also comes with two missed cuts. Kevin Na is the only other from the PGA Tour, while Yoseop Seo and Hanbyeol Kim have four top-10s each on the Korean Tour.

Sam Burns was on track to join Johnson and Na with his fourth top-10 in the last 12 weeks, holding the lead through 36 holes, but a poor weekend prevented him from doing that. Instead, he added his sixth top-25 over the time span, with only Na Seo and Kim having six or more. Erik van Rooyen, Sungjae Im, K.H. Lee, Sanghun Shin and Harold Varner all have five.

Negative Recent Form

Ten golfers have not recorded a top-25 over the last 12 weeks, with the most surprising name being Collin Morikawa. While his Ryder Cup debut would tell a different story, Morikawa has struggled since his win at the British Open. Some of the other big names that do not have a top-25 either include Rickie Fowler, Emiliano Grillo and Jason Day.

Jason established his roots in the littlest state that could...Rhode Island. But after 29 years of bitter cold, and only being able to play golf 4 months a year, upended those roots and moved to Florida. Now two years later, Jason is a husband to Sarah and father of James as well as two Labradors (Choco and Bella) and he dedicates his time to serve as the lead of PGA content at Awesemo.com. In the time he is not diving into the PGA stats and covering this week's current tournament, you can find him researching and trading stocks, on the golf course, or somewhere hopefully lost in nature with his dogs guiding him along the way.
