Recent Form

With so many different names in the field this week, it seems like an opportune time to review who is playing well and how they are doing it. So while there is no course history this week, here is deeper dive into recent strokes gained data.

Only 10 golfers have accumulated multiple top-10s in the last 11 weeks. Garrick Higgo is one of those, a budding star from South Africa via the European Tour. Joining him are Seamus Power and Peter Uihlein. Uihlein’s three top-10s all came on the Korn Ferry Tour, while Power had one come on the PGA Tour and one the Korn Ferry Tour. David Lipsky’s two top-10s were also done on tours other than the PGA Tour, as were Danny Willett‘s. That leaves six golfers with multiple top-10s on the PGA Tour: Ian Poulter, Lucas Glover, Patton Kizzire, Keith Mitchell and Brandt Snedeker.

While Adam Schenk hasn’t had top-10 upside, he has been able to get inside the top 25 three times while only missing two cuts over the past 11 weeks. Camilo Villegas is in the same boat.

Lastly, there are only five golfers in the field that have competed at least four times and haven’t missed a cut: Snedeker, Power, Tyrrell Hatton, Vincent Whaley and Alex Noren.

Strokes Gained

With the course measuring almost 7,700 yards but playing to a par 71, length off the tee will matter this week, as the generous landing zones should help the longer hitters use shorter clubs going into the par 5’s. We will focus on strokes gained total and strokes gained off the tee for the last nine tournament weeks.
