All of the PGA DFS content and fantasy golf picks this week are geared toward providing information that will help with DraftKings and FanDuel daily fantasy golf, PGA odds and betting predictions in the best way possible. With the help of the Awesemo expert , this is the last of the week-long written PGA fantasy picks material for DraftKings and FanDuel at the 2022 Valero Texas Open.
PGA DFS Golf Picks: 2022 Valero Texas Open
This column will include 6 to 12 players as part of the core, which earns my highest allocation on DFS and is matched with bets across the board. Heading towards the Masters, only one of my favorites, Jordan Spieth ($10,600), will tee it up this week. While his play hasn’t been great this year, with his putter being his worst attribute, he still sets up as one of the top plays on the slate. I’ll be solidly overweight the projected ownership this week.
PGA Weather Forecast
Warm temperatures and spots of wind on Friday are in the forecast for the next few days, but there doesn’t look to be much of an advantage for either side.

Valero Texas Open Fantasy Golf Picks & Projections
These golfers will have anywhere between 20% and 50% allocation.
Rory McIlroy ($11,000 DraftKings/$12,000 FanDuel)
It’s been almost nine months since McIlroy missed his last cute. Since that appearance at the Scottish Open back in July, he’s teed it up 14 times, played the weekend in all of them, and has four top-fives and five top-10s. That’s a very high rate of return, even for the highest-priced golfer this week. It doesn’t go unnoticed, however, as he’s expected to be highly owned across the board. I’ll be slightly overweight the projections this week.
Bryson DeChambeau ($10,200 DraftKings/$11,600 FanDuel)
DeChambeau is the exact opposite of McIlroy, with no wins, top-fives or even top-10s in the last eight months. He will be searching for his game a week prior to the year’s first major. Ownership is also expected to be quite low. That presents an opportunity to get a high-ceiling golfer with low ownership in a weak field.
Davis Riley ($8,400 DraftKings/$9,500 FanDuel)
A large part of Riley’s success on the professional stage can be attributed to this course. Winning the Korn Ferry Tour event here last year propelled him into the top 25 of the Korn Ferry Tour, and he earned his PGA Tour card. In his first 13 starts on tour, he earned one top-10 and another top-20, but his confidence continued to grow. That resulted in a second-place finish at the Valspar Championship, a playoff loss to Sam Burns. Coming off of his best start as a pro and heading back to a course where he’s had success in the past, this week should spell a continued run of good form at the Valero Texas Open.
Rasmus Hojgaard & Robert MacIntyre ($7,900/DraftKings, $9,400 FanDuel)
There is equal pricing across the sites this week for MacIntyre and Hojgaard, two of the better talents that play most of their golf on the DP World Tour. Hojgaard has shown in the past that he’s a form golfer and can compete at a multitude of places when in form, while MacIntyre seems to fit on driver-heavy courses. Hojgaard is in the mix of one of those good spurts, not missing a cut since the Shriners Children Open over the fall circuit and coming in sixth at last week’s Corales Puntacana Championship. Lastly, TPC San Antonio rewards golfers that are good off of the tee, which should fit MacIntyre’s game. Each of them is projected for less than 10% ownership, which will present an opportunity to double the field and still be under 20% this week.
Sahith Theegala ($7,800/DraftKings, $9,900 FanDuel)
If one were to make a shortlist of golfers that they’d expect to break through sooner rather than later, Theegala is likely in the top five of that list. After a great West Coast swing that featured a third-place finish at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Theegala missed the cut in his first two appearances in Florida. But a seventh at the Valspar and a 22nd at Corales have him on an upswing again. Maybe this time will be the time he seals the deal and earns an invite to next week’s Masters Tournament.

Fantasy Golf Picks: $7,500 or less
With such a top-heavy field, there aren’t many names that should earn a core place this week, but there are a few golfers on whom I’ll get close to core ownership:

- Alex Smalley ($7,100 DraftKings/$8,700 FanDuel)
- David Lipsky ($6,900 DraftKings/$8,400 FanDuel)
