This week, the stars have come to play as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay look to go wire-to-wire here at the 2022 Zurich Classic. They’ve been dominant all week, from the first two holes, where they went birdie-eagle, and have never looked back. They shot their second straight 60, or better, in the best-ball format and again shooting the best round of the day. The 61 in round three also pushed them further away from the field and will go into the final round with a five-shot lead. This article will take you thru some of the round 3 action and provide some PGA DFS Picks for the final round slate.
PGA DFS Golf Picks Today: The Zurich Classic Round 4
Round 3 Recap
Cantlay and Schauffele would always be the focal point starting the day with a one-shot lead, and they didn’t disappoint on Saturday. After an opening 32 on the front, the team birdie 8 of the nine hones on the back nine, separating themselves from the rest of the field. Garrick Higgo and Branden Grace would try and stay within an arm’s length after shooting 65 in the alternate shot yesterday and would back that up with a solid 63 on the day, the third-best score recorded but still three shots behind Xander and Patrick.
Mark Hubbard is looking to improve his standing on the PGA Tour, as he and recent winner Ryan Brehm had the second-lowest round of the day, with a nine-under 62.

Best PGA DFS Picks Today for The Zurich Classic DraftKings Showdown
A couple of things in play for this week’s final round showdown slate. First and foremost is the five-stroke difference between first and second, which seems insurmountable at this point. Then there’s the fact that there’s only a five-shot difference between third place and 18th. So a packed leaderboard, outside of the top team and already starting with more fantasy points in their finishing position than normal, given that there are only 33 or so teams left, the board should be wide open to choose from.
Max Homa and Talor Gooch ($9,000)
The last three rounds of alternate shot have gone superbly for this team of good buddies, as they’ve been able to shoot under par in all of them. Clearly comfortable with the format and pairing, Homa and Gooch have been lurking all week but just haven’t been able to maintain momentum. While first place is likely out of the question for the pair, they’ve got a chance to earn a big chunk of change with a good finishing round.
Byeong-Hun An and Sungjae Im ($8,400)
One of two teams that are playing for a bit more than just pride and money tomorrow. The other is team Jason, with Day and Scrivener; neither Hun An nor Scrivener have any status on the PGA Tour. A top 10 this week would get them into next week’s Mexico Championship, as they both try and earn a PGA Tour card the hard way.
Davis Riley and Will Zalatoris ($8,200)
While the week hasn’t gone exactly as planned for the former roommates and noted friends but, they’ve hung around even though some of the poor below from Zalatoris. Given that they are pretty far down the leaderboard and have never really threatened it all week, they should be rather low owned for the final round slate.
Low Owned GPP Targets for the final Round Slate:
- Curtis Thompson and Nick Hardy
- Ryan Armour and Michael Gligic
