PGA DFS: This tool, at least in my eyes, will be most useful in the middle of the season, helping us identify undervalued golfers for PGA DFS lineups. But for now, we only have roughly nine events over the last 11 weeks. The most for a PGA Tour Player is Rhein Gibson with seven starts in that time frame. Still, recent form analysis will include the Hawaii swing, the back half of the fall circuit and the last couple of weeks on the European Tour, so it is not an awful sample size.
PGA DFS Recent Form
We are looking at 11 weeks for our recent form, and because we are early on the season, we only will have one or two that reached eight starts. In fact, this week the highest number of starts is Gibson’s seven. Patrick Reed, Tony Finau and Cam Davis each have five.
PGA DFS Positives
- There are only 15 golfers in the field that have made every cut in all of their starts in the last 11 weeks. A lot of that is likely due to many of the players making their first or second start of the year, including the fall swing. Only four players have made all three cuts in at least three starts: Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler, Rickie Fowler and Sungaje Im.Â
- Patrick Reed is the only golfer with four top 25’s in the last 11 weeks. The four golfers I just mentioned each have three, as do Bo Hoag, Justin Suh, Lanto Griffin, Tony Finau and Justin Rose.Â
- Fowler and Schauffele will be going for their fourth straight top 10, while Cam Smith, Jon Rahm and Rose aim for their third straight.
- 11 golfers in the field have come in the top 25 in each of their starts. Most of them are listed above, but that number also includes Joel Dahmen, Hideki Matsuyama and Ryan Palmer.Â
PGA DFS Negatives
- Eight golfers are entirely out of form, missing their last three cuts: Luke List, Mackenzie Hughes, J.J. Spaun, Doug Ghim, Vince Covello, Kevin Stadler and John Senden.
- 24 golfers have had at least three starts in the last 11 weeks with no top 25s. Among those are Roger Sloan, Jim Herman, Keith Mitchell, Charley Hoffman, Doc Redman and Xinjun Zhang.Â
