PGA DFS: Opening Remarks
PGA DFS: We are only four calendar weeks into the season, but the more data we get, the better this article and tool will become. In fact, we only have four golfers that haven’t played at all in the last 11 weeks. The most starts title still goes to Rehin Gibson, who sets the pace with seven. Two more, Matt Kuchar and Sebastian Munoz have six, and 30 golfers have five.
PGA DFS Recent Form
*Just a reminder, we are looking at the last 11 weeks of competition.
PGA DFS Positives
- Jon Rahm has been the most steady golfer over the last year it seems, but certainly in the last 11 weeks. He has four starts, four top 10s, two runner-ups and one win. Only Collin Morikawa has the same number of consecutive top 25s, let along top 10s, at four. Webb Simpson and Ryan Palmer have three straight top 25s, and in fact, Simpson is working on three straight top 10s.
- Branden Grace, Max Homa, Vaughn Taylor, Scottie Scheffler, Gary Woodland, Tom Hoge, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele and Cameron Smith have all been on the first page of the leaderboard at least twice in the last 11 weeks.
- Matt Kuchar gets a note, having come in the top 25 four times, one of only four golfers to do so. He did it in six tries.
- Only nine golfers have come in the top 25 in each of the starts over the last 11 weeks, and only eight that have had more than two. Those who haven’t been mentioned yet include Brandt Snedker, Sean O’Hair and Corey Conners.Â
PGA DFS Negatives
- 10 golfers are entirely out of form missing at least three cuts in there last three tries, including Aaron Wise, Russel Henley, Roger Sloan, Nelson Ledesma, Wyndham Clark, Bo Van Pelt, John Senden and Vince Covello.Â
- 62 golfers haven’t had a top 25 in the last 11 weeks. That’s over 33% of the field. 29 of them have had at least four starts. Mackenzie Hughes, J.J. Spaun, Martin Trainer, Kyle Stanley, Luke List and Patton Kizzire do not have any in five starts.
