This column is a quick-hitter article to give you the stats you need to make informed PGA DFS picks for your DraftKings and FanDuel daily fantasy golf lineups. We’re in search of a few recommendations for the third round of the Genesis Invitational. In a typical Showdown GPP, DraftKings will offer upwards of $50,000 to first place for second-and third-round tournaments and sometimes up to $100,000 for the final-round contests. They also provide weekend-long contests that have been offering $25,000 to first place on average. On top of that, FanDuel has tried to get into the weekend-long and final-round contests, offering $10,000 and $5,000 to first place in their PGA DFS Showdown contests. Let’s take a look at PGA DFS picks for Round 4 of the Genesis Invitational.
Round 4 PGA DFS Showdown Picks: Genesis Invitational
Previous Round Recap
About two hours into the round, the wind started to kick up and the PGA Tour suspended play for about four hours. When play resumed, winds continued to bluster, wreaking tons of havoc, and the leaders finished about 14 holes. Sam Burns kept it together until his last two holes, where he missed two short ones for par and now only leads by 2. Matthew Fitzpatrick was able to get out a bit before the leaders and play the most inspired golf, especially with his approaches, were he gained over 3 strokes through 17 holes.
Burns and other leaders will have the benefit of playing their remaining holes in the calmer conditions tomorrow morning but will also have to be up at the crack of dawn, as play resumes at 6:50.
One of those that won’t have to be at the course at 5 a.m. is Tony Finau, who sits just 5 back. He could wind up 2 or 3 back when he shows up to work tomorrow morning since Burns has difficult holes ahead of him.

General Strategy and Genesis Invitational PGA DFS Picks
Winds are supposed to be calmer on Sunday, providing better playing conditions. Since we don’t know exactly what the leaderboard will be heading into Round 4 as of writing, I’ll update in the morning with my final thoughts after Round 3 play finishes.
PGA DFS Picks for the Genesis Invitational Final Round Slate
- Patrick Cantlay ($10,500): Many lineups tomorrow are likely to start with Dustin Johnson and Cantlay, and I think it makes sense to do that, as they are the best players closest to the top of the leaderboard. Cantlay will start his day in the fairway bunker on 17, but finishing with a couple of birdies would give him momentum and could make him the first guy in the clubhouse at 7 under.
- Tony Finau ($9,300): A couple of eagles and 13 birdies have Finau as one of the top point earners heading into the final round, but every step forward was met with a step backward. While he may be a bit far off to win the event, he’ll come in well rested for his 10 a.m. tee time and look to put up an eagle and a few birdies early to set the tone.
- Branden Grace ($6,600): Having gained strokes in all facets of the game over the first three days, Grace seems like he’s trending in the right direction. If stacking a couple of studs, you are going to need some low-priced guys, so Grace and the next guy should help.
Sneaky PGA DFS Pick for Round 4
C.T. Pan ($6,200)
Having battled the elements rather well today, including an eagle on the first, Pan has been simmering with his irons over the first two rounds and finally broke out today, gaining about 3 strokes. I’ll ride that, a lukewarm putter and a consistent tee game for tomorrow’s final round.
DraftKings and FanDuel Genesis Invitational Lineup Fill-Ins
- Jordan Spieth ($9,100)
- Patrick Rodgers ($6,700)
- James Hahn ($7,400)
