This column is a quick-hitter article to give you the stats you need to make informed PGA DFS picks for your DraftKings and FanDuel daily fantasy golf lineups. We’re in search of a few recommendations for the fourth round of the WGC-Workday Championship. In a typical Showdown GPP, DraftKings will offer upwards of $50,000 to first place for second- and third-round tournaments, and sometimes up to $100,000 for the final-round contests. They also provide weekend-long contests that have been offering $25,000 to first place on average. FanDuel has tried to get into the weekend-long and final-round contests, offering $10,000 and $5,000 to first place in their PGA DFS Showdown contests. Let’s take a look at PGA DFS picks for Round 4 of the WGC Workday.
Round 4 PGA DFS Showdown Picks: WGC Workday
Previous Round Recap
An incredible streak continues in Round 3, as Collin Morikawa is on a run with his approach game like few we’ve seen before. He cooled off a bit, gaining 1.10 strokes on Saturday. At one point in the day, he had a lead by 6, but a couple of bogeys and a streaking Bermuda Billy Horschel dropped the lead to just 2. Sore-neck Brooks Koepka was able to scrape together a 1-under round and also sits 2 back.
The biggest moves of the day belong to Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland, who both came in with 66 moved inside the top 10. For Hovland — who made a quadruple-bogey on his 18th hole yesterday — it’s a great bounce-back round to give himself an outside chance to win. He is also losing a stroke with his putter.
Quick Hitter Round 3 Stat Recap
McIlroy put together a complete round on the day, gaining over as stroke in every facet of the game. Max Homa found his form again, also gaining in all four categories. Aaron Rai was the only other golfer to accomplish this, and he was also bogey-free on the day.

General Strategy and WGC Workday PGA DFS Picks
A long-awaited change to weekend tee times is that twosomes are all going off at the first tee. It’s great on a few different levels, including the betting markets, setting up the possibility of 36 matchups to choose.
For PGA DFS purposes, this is just a friendly reminder that finishing points are allocated to golfers in the next round.
PGA DFS Picks for Round 4 of the WGC Workday
- Collin Morikawa ($9,100): I just wanted to write some thoughts about Morikawa’s price and ownership for tomorrow. It is pretty clear that, again, he presents some great value, but given the fact that he’s not the most expensive guy on the slate and only up $700 from yesterday’s price, the ownership could reach nosebleed levels. I’m talking 60%-plus.
- Rory McIlroy ($10,000): I can’t say I’ve seen a guy gain a stroke in all four categories of strokes gained in a long time, and maybe ever. In any case, McIlroy has been trending all week, and while Sunday he hasn’t been the best version of himself, maybe tomorrow is when that snaps.
- Viktor Hovland ($8,900): Another one of the chalkier plays on the slate tomorrow, Hovland has looked so good outside of that quad on Friday. His putting hasn’t hit yet, and with the way he’s hitting the ball right now, one good day with the putter could put him close to the lowest score of the week. Hovland likely needs something in the 64 range to have a chance to win the event.
- Sergio Garcia ($7,600): There are a handful of golfers in this range that are all at either -9 or -8: Louis Oosthuizen, Abraham Ancer, Jason Kokrak and Garcia. Stacking all four isn’t that crazy, though I would really like to get the lowest owned of the bunch because I think they are all playable. If you have a lean on any of the four, go with that one; I rate all these guys rather equally but would go with Garcia first.
Sneaky PGA DFS Pick for Round 4
Aaron Rai ($6,300)
Part of my fill-ins last night, Rai continued to impress in Round 3 shooting a bogey-free 69. Unless you play the Euro Tour, you may not know Rai, who jumped all the way to No. 79 in the world. There was a four-week stretch last year, after the COVID-19 layoff, where he finished second, first and third. Since then, he hadn’t been great at golf until he a finished 25th at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship a few weeks ago. I will roll him out in the more aggressive lineups.
