PGA DFS Round 3 Recap
Finally, we are done with the course rotation thing and can focus on the one course with shot tracker. Andrew Landry has been the surprise all week, keeping pace with Scottie Scheffler, who played very well on the stadium course today with a 6-under 66. Rickie Fowler was able to string together a couple of late birdies, which was enough to get him into the final pairing tomorrow but still sits 4 back.
PGA DFS Statistical AnalysisÂ
Maverick McNealy had it going early in the round, but his putter failed him big time later on in the day, losing 1.85. He gained ball striking, however, about .9, which gave him the title of the highest differential between the two of golfer that made the cut. Brian Harman shows up on this list, which is a rarity, as he lost over a stroke on the greens today. Scottie Scheffler, who gained 1.9 on the day, followed by Daniel Berger and Brendan Steele round out the top-five golfers in shots gained ball strikings versus putting.
Andrew Landry leads birdies with 23, Grayson Murray has 21 and Max Homa has 20. Scheffler has 19 with two eagles, but no other golfer has surpassed the 20 birdie mark. Other than Scheffler, there are four other golfers that have 19 birdies and three of them you would not expect: Talor Gooch, Anirban Lahiri and Matt Every.Â

PGA DFS Final Round PicksÂ
Top 10 Pick
Max Homa ($7,300)
Very late in the day, Homa caught fire and now sets himself up for a run at big money tomorrow. He relies on a hot putter, and when he gets hot, he stays that way. He’s also priced up a bit, so I don’t suspect ownership to be all that high, and since he’s already in the top 10, his positional points will be a nice added bonus as well.
PGA DFS Stud or Value Pick outside of Top 10
Denny Mccarthy ($7,500)
After a lackluster day one, McCarthy has bounced back with rounds of 68 and 63. That should give him plenty of momentum going into tomorrow, sitting two shots outside the top 10. We know he’s one of the best putters on tour, so we have that to rely on, but his ball striking needs to follow. If it does, this could be a nice pick with not a lot of ownership due to his starting position.
Sneaky Pick Outside of Top 10
Brendan Steele ($6,800)Â
Steele seems to have shaken off his dreadful collapse rather quickly. He shot a 2-under 70 in round one, but it only got better from there, with a 65 at the Stadium Course Saturday. Another one of those tomorrow and he could be looking at his second straight top 10, something he hadn’t done in almost two years.
PGA DFS Lineup Fill-InsÂ
Abraham Ancer ($9,100)Â
Cameron Davis ($7,400)
Chesson Hadley ($6,300)
