Holes in one, big names making moves, and a condensed leaderboard all made Saturday an exciting Round 3 for the Rocket Mortgage Classic at DraftKings and FanDuel. Given who missed the cut this week, the weekend had a grim future, but, alas, fireworks were seen after all. Rickie Fowler & Bubba Watson got it going early, and although they both stumbled coming, they yielded great value for PGA DFS gamers in Round 3. The biggest daily fantasy golf showdown contests this week are for the final round as we look to make back some of those Bryson loses or compound those fading Bryson gains in DFS golf!

PGA DFS Showdown Picks: Rocket Mortgage Classic Round 4
Previous Round Recap
Troy Merritt has been in solid form for almost two months now, and that certainly continued here today. A hole-in-one for Merritt would propel him to a two-shot lead but would be caught at the end of the day by Joaquin Niemann. Merritt, who had been relying on his putter, parlayed the hole in one to over 2.5 strokes gained on the approach while adding .5 with his putter and .28 off the tee. The struggle, if you call it that, was around the green. For Joaquin, his off the tee game was superb, like it typically is, but it was actually his around-the-green game that helped him catch Merritt late, gaining over 1.3 on the day.
Hank Lebioda continues his hot form as well, shooting a six-under 66, getting him to 13 under and just one back of Niemann & Merritt. Cameron Davis also shows his continued form this year, and at a course well suited for him, as he’ll have a chance to win his first PGA Tour Tournament.

Rocket Mortgage Classic PGA DFS Picks
Scores of the day were scattered a bit, from golfers that teed off early in the morning like Watson & Scott Stallings, but then others like Lebioda were more in the middle of the pack to start the day. No real advantage based on tee time.
Niemann presents the most obvious play, given that he’s the best golfer in the field in the top 10 and happens to be tied for the lead. That will come with a lot of ownership as the highest-priced golfer on the slate.
PGA DFS Picks for Round 4 of The Rocket Mortgage ClassicÂ
- Kevin Kisner ($9,500)Â A bit of a letdown today with the irons, only gaining slightly on his approach, but in true Kisner fashion, his putter bailed him out. Having one of his worst years on memory, Kevin can erase all that with one good ball-striking day. He’s not going to wow you off the tee, but if he carries over the good Sunday vibes from last week, then he should have a shot to win this tomorrow.
- Cameron Davis ($8,700)Â A big transformation in his game this year, the young Aussie has finally found the ability to tap into his potential. When a golfer can do that, the sky is the limit, especially with the pedigree Davis has following him. This will be his best shot to win on the Tour, and he won’t have the last group nerves either.
- Hank Lebioda ($7,500)Â Form is undeinable. Whether it holds up for one round or not is another question, but that’s why we all love PGA DFS. The variability in which it provides is intoxicating. Hank, though has put together an incredibly solid year that puts him firmly inside the playoff number. He didn’t have that same fortune last year, coming in 140th, limiting the number of starts he’d get this year. But he’s made the most of it and can sure up his job for next year with a solid finish tomorrow. Anything inside the top 5 should be enough to secure his spot in the playoffs this year.
Sneaky Pick for the Round 4 Showdown
- Byeong Hun An ($6,300)Â As Hank has risen up the board, Bennie has fallen. Not in our hearts, with one of the best Twitter personalities out there, Receiving 8 first tee times over the last couple of months, An has struggled to find consistency in the early rounds and has failed to make the weekend. But a break with the PGA Tour this week, and them finally taking notice of something rather unfortunate, An made the weekend and put his ball striking to good use. His irons got even better today, gaining almost three strokes, showing there’s plenty of fire in the bag. If he can make just a few putts tomorrow, he can pay off his measly salary rather quickly.
Happy Fourth of July, everyone. May you all enjoy fireworks, friends and family on this joyous day. Oh, and make sure you tag @AwesemoHOF when you win tomorrow’s $50K to first showdown prize!
