As an analyst of the game, one of my goals is to educate to the best of my ability, not just from the golf side but from the PGA DFS and fantasy golf side as well.

2022 PGA DFS Preview: DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Golf Tips & Advice

Important Trends & Statistics from Last Year: PGA DFS Info

Beyond all the stats and making the right picks, the most important thing when evaluating a golfer on a weekly basis has nothing to do with his skill, at least for daily fantasy sports purposes. That thing is the ownership % of the golfer. Playing the right chalk and fading the right chalk in PGA DFS will make a break a week, month, or even season.

Top 10 Bold Predictions for 2022 PGA Tour Season & Major Winners

It is always fun to look back on who and what you were high or low on at the beginning of the year. Here is a quick recap of my bold predictions from last year:

  • Justin Thomas did not win the Masters as predicted but did win the Players Championship.
  • Jon Rahm did not win the British Open but did win the U.S. Open and became the No. 1 golfer in the world.
  • Patrick Cantlay did not win the PGA Championship, but he did have a massive year, winning the biggest prize in golf.
  • Bryson DeChambeau did not win the U.S. Open back-to-back to years.
  • Tony Finau did not win the Tournament of Champions but did win the Northern Trust.
  • Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland each added another win, while Matthew Wolff missed much of the year to focus on his mental health.
  • Tiger Woods was playing fine before the car accident.
  • Jordan Spieth did win again, going against the prediction on that side, and he came in the top 10 of two majors and made the cut in all four.
  • Justin Rose continued his decline but just managed to stay in the top 50, ranking 43.
  • Abraham Ancer got his first win. Scottie Scheffler did not but had a great year, and Will Zalatoris earned membership to the PGA Tour.

Latest PGA DFS Content

The following, in no specific order, cover 10 different golfers.

  1. Collin Morikawa will win the Masters and will have a chance in Brookline to complete the Grand Slam by winning all for majors. He will also become the No. 1 player in the world.
  2. Jon Rahm will win the British Open at St. Andrews and will battle back and forth with Morikawa for the No. 1 ranking.
  3. Jordan Spieth will not win the PGA Championship but will come in the top three of the event and come just short of the Grand Slam. He will pick up a major this year, however, by winning the U.S. Open at The Country Club.
  4. Sticking with the theme of not winning the grand slam, Rory McIlroy will have his best chance at the Masters this year since his back-nine debacle years ago but will ultimately lose to an in-form Morikawa.
  5. Viktor Hovland will join the major champion category by winning the PGA Championship.
  6. Scottie Scheffler will get his win this year as one of only three first-time winners on the year. The others will be Maverick McNealy and Harold Varner III.
  7. Justin Thomas will come in the top 10 in all four majors but goes winless in them.
  8. Dustin Johnson will have his winning streak snapped and have his worst year on tour.
  9. Sam Burns will remain in the top 25 in the official world golf ranking but will not win.
  10. Aaron Wise will win again on the PGA Tour and finish the year inside the top 25 in the world ranking.
