PGA DFS Daily Fantasy golf picks Yahoo Cup RSM Classic free expert picks this week ownership projections rankings

Looking for a way to learn PGA DFS without jumping in with both feet? We have a perfect solution for you. Yahoo and Yahoo Fantasy are offering a $15,000 freeroll called the PGA “Yahoo Cup.” This contest awards a winner for weekly events and one winner at the end of the season who has the most cumulative points. It will go for 39 weeks, with the lowest nine weeks of scoring being dropped from your total score. Each week also features a $150-to-first contest, making every round matter just as much as the last. Let us dig into this week’s top value plays for the RSM Classic.

Course Preview: Sea Island Resort

The PGA Tour heads to Sea Island, Ga., for the last event of the fall swing. The event is played on both courses at the resort: the Seaside Course and the Plantation Course. The Seaside Course is used for three of the four rounds and is a par 70 that stretches 7,000 yards with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Top Three PGA DFS Value Picks for the RSM Classic

Denny McCarthy ($22)

The most news McCarthy has gotten this offseason is the fact that he broke Viktor Hovland’s driver a few days before Hovland won his second straight Mayakoba Golf Classic. However, McCarthy has been linked to Bryson DeChambeau this offseason, training with one of the World’s longest drivers. While it will not make McCarthy one of the world’s best golfers, it does add an element to his game he did not have before. Results have also picked up since being linked to DeChambeau, as he has made four of his last five cuts and has three top-20s. At this salary, he would just have to make the weekend to provide a return.

Joel Dahmen ($25)

Dahmen had his breakthrough win on the PGA Tour last year. His form since that breakthrough win, however, has not been as good, with only one top-10 since March of last year prior to last week. But the form had been trending, as he has now made four straight cuts to start the season, including his second top-10 since his win last week at the Houston Open. Coming in with all the momentum and having won on a coastal track already, Dahmen should end his season on a bright spot and earn his second straight top-10 this week.

Russell Henley ($34)

About two years ago, before COVID-19 began wreaking havoc on the world, Russell was ranked 201st in the Official World Golf Rankings. A tie for eighth at the Honda Classic proved to be all he needed to work on his game during the forced break. Out of the break, he has gone from being ranked over 200 in the world to just outside the top 50 and on the verge of a Masters invite. Henley was a fixture on the leaderboard through much of the summer, but he could not ever put four rounds together to seal the deal. He gets one more chance at it this season, and a win would automatically qualify him for the Masters next year since he would be ranked inside the top 50 in the world. However, a top-10 this week might do the trick as well. Given his salary is not one of the top 10 most expensive this week, he also holds value in a balanced build.

PGA DFS Yahoo Cup Lineup Fill-Ins

  • Mito Pereira ($35)
  • Cameron Smith ($41)
  • Scottie Scheffler ($42)

Jason established his roots in the littlest state that could...Rhode Island. But after 29 years of bitter cold, and only being able to play golf 4 months a year, upended those roots and moved to Florida. Now two years later, Jason is a husband to Sarah and father of James as well as two Labradors (Choco and Bella) and he dedicates his time to serve as the lead of PGA content at Awesemo.com. In the time he is not diving into the PGA stats and covering this week's current tournament, you can find him researching and trading stocks, on the golf course, or somewhere hopefully lost in nature with his dogs guiding him along the way.
