The PGA Championship is next week and will have a lot of money up for grabs. Before that, however, there is one more event on the schedule and a chance to rack up some extra cash in One and Done Pools. This field for the AT&T Byron Nelson 2022 is not nearly as strong as next week’s, but there are still some top-end players to potentially use for AT&T Byron Nelson One and Done picks this week.

PGA One and Done Picks: AT&T Byron Nelson 2022

The Wells Fargo Championship 2022 One and Done Recap

Max Homa

The winner last week was Max Homa, who is solidifying himself as a legitimate threat every time he tees it up. Homa has not made an impact in majors, but it feels like just a matter of time considering his winning pedigree the last few years on tour. He cashed a $1.6 million check, which helped those who played him vault up the standings in One and Done pools.

Matthew Fitzpatrick

Last week was a bounce-back spot for Matthew Fitzpatrick after a bad missed cut at Heritage. He came through, rebounding at the Wells Fargo with a tie for second and a $681,000 payday. He is still waiting for a breakthrough win on tour, but he showed that he still can bank serious cash despite not finding the winner’s circle.

Sergio Garcia

Sergio Garcia was a solid punt option last week, as his off-tee game has been fantastic. The irons have kept him out of contention in most weeks, but the hot putter certainly gave him some upside heading into the last tournament. Garcia was able to find the weekend, but a few too many mistakes landed him in a tie for 21st and a pedestrian $98,000.

Joaquin Niemann

Joaquin Niemann makes a lot of sense this week given his abilities and the fact that this is expected to be an easy course. Niemann has the ball striking and game to post -20 or better, which is what is needed to win at TPC Craig Ranch. The biggest problem is most people do not have Niemann available, as he has been a popular choice several times this year. With a win under his belt at Genesis this year, it would not be shocking to see another win before 2022 comes to an end, and he makes a solid choice where available.

Xander Schauffele

Xander Schauffele’s current outright odds of 22-1 put him among the top-end favorites this week. It is a somewhat large opportunity cost for a guy who contends in majors and WGCs, but at the same time, that has worked with some of these lesser prestigious events. After missing the cut at Augusta in a horrendous performance, Schauffele rebounded with a win at the team event at the Zurich. Regardless of how much one may think that matters, the form is strong with his off-tee game leading the way. If not saving him for the bigger tournaments this summer, it is a fine spot to target a guy who should be in the mix.

Jhonattan Vegas

For a more aggressive shot, take a look at Jhonattan Vegas this week. He is always strong off the tee, but his entire game is firing lately, with three straight top-20 finishes. Last week at Wells Fargo, Vegas gained 10.1 strokes on the approach and added a few more with the flat stick. At a course like this where he can be aggressive off the tee, he is going to have numerous birdie looks and potential eagle opportunities on the par 5’s. He may not be in play again for One and Done the entire season, and the form does not get much better than this.

Byron Nelson 2022 One and Done Pick: Xander Schauffele

Vegas is a solid option, but Schauffele’s 22-1 outright price shows his win equity is among the highest in the field. The Zurich was a catalyst to get Schauffele back in form for the second part of the season. He is one of the best off-tee players in the field, and his well-rounded game should allow him to take apart this course. Outside of the Masters and Players, which are the two biggest events so far this season, Schauffele has not missed a cut, and this should be another top-end finish with a real chance come Sunday.
