PGA DFS Picks: The RBC Heritage Optimizer Picks & Leverage Leaders for DraftKings & FanDuel Lineups | 4/13

Yet again, The Masters delivered a tremendous four days of golf. Up next, the PGA Tour makes its way to Harbour Town Golf Links (par 71, 7,121 yards) in Hilton Head, South Carolina for the RBC Heritage. The DFS industry has a full slate of high-end GPP plays available for tournament. Below, you will find some of my favorite PGA DFS picks for both DraftKings and FanDuel, using Awesemo’s Top Golfers Tool.

PGA DFS Picks: RBC Heritage

Harbour Town Golf Links is your classic Pete Dye-designed course. Distance isn’t all that important, but finding the right spots in the fairways to attack these Bermuda greens is an advantage. Like every Dye track, the putting surfaces are small, and that places a heavy emphasis on approach play. Including Webb Simpson, who broke the tournament record at -22 last season, three of the past four Heritage winners have ranked inside the top eight in strokes gained on approach during their victories. At Harbour Town, the holes to focus on are the par 4’s . Over the last decade, each winner has finished third or better in strokes gained on the par 4’s. Following the smaller field and cut line at The Masters, The Heritage presents a field of 137 players, with the top 65 and ties advancing through the cut after the second round.

Patrick Cantlay

Awesemo PGA DFS Leverage Scores: DraftKings: 4.7%, FanDuel: -1.1%

From a GPP perspective, Cantlay is a must-have on DraftKings this week. According to the Awesemo’s Top Golfers Tool, he is only projected for 7.8% ownership and has a 21.2% chance of finishing inside the top six. The lack of interest in Cantlay is a result of back-to-back missed cuts, but a trip to Harbour Town could be exactly what the doctor ordered. He skipped this event a year ago, but the three previous seasons, Cantlay finished third, seventh and third.

He has not finished outside the top 20 in his six previous events before this current missed-cut streak. It is a very sharp move taking Cantlay to regain his form at a track that he knows well.

Chase Seiffert

Awesemo PGA DFS Leverage Scores: DraftKings: 1.6%, FanDuel: 0.7%

Seiffert is a blossoming young talent that yet is still cheap and getting overlooked. Via Awesemo’s Top Golfers Tool, he is projected to be less than 3% owned on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Seiffert has been competing on the weekend in seven of his past nine starts, with some very impressive finishes during this run. He has finished 18th or better in four of these events, with the highlight being a third place at The Honda Classic, which was only Seiffert’s second career start at the daunting PGA National.

This will be his debut at Harbour Town, but Seiffert has all the tools to succeed at this par 71. Seiffert is a terrific iron player that does most of his damage on par 4’s. Over his last 12 rounds, he ranks sixth in greens in regulation and 10th in strokes gained on par 4’s. He is a spotless 3-for-3 on Dye designs since joining the tour, including a 12th at the American Express back in January.

J.T. Poston

Awesemo PGA DFS Leverage Scores: DraftKings: 0.9%, FanDuel: 1.5%

Poston’s results at Harbour Town are too compelling to ignore at these low price tags. He has teed it up at Hilton Head the past two seasons, finishing sixth and eighth. Poston has gained strokes in seven of his eight career rounds at this venue and just carded a 22nd0-place finish at TPC Sawgrass for The Players. That famous Florida track was also designed by Dye, and this is the third time Poston has finished top 25 or better in his last six starts on tour.

Based on Awesemo’s Top Golfers Tool, he is expected to carry sub-5% ownership levels on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Aaron Wise

Awesemo PGA DFS Leverage Scores: DraftKings: 2.7%, FanDuel: 1.9%

Wise missed the weekend last season in his Heritage debut, but he was in serious funk at the time, missing six of his previous eight cuts before the trip to Hilton Head. Now Wise enters this week making three straight cuts, proceeding to the weekend at eight of his past 12 PGA events. He has flashed some great upside this season, generating four top-25s, most notably a runner-up at the Mayakoba Golf Classic in December.

His current form sets up rather well for Harbour Town, with Wise ranking 11th in strokes gained tee to green, eighth in greens in regulation, sixth in birdie-or-better percentage and seventh in DraftKings points across his last eight rounds. With essentially no expected ownership this week on either site according to Awesemo projections, Wise is a true sleeper pick that is worth rolling the dice on.
