This column is a quick-hitter article to give you the stats you need to make informed PGA DFS picks for your DraftKings + FanDuel daily fantasy lineups and give you a couple of recommendations for the second round of the Corales Puntacana Championship On a typical Showdown contest, DraftKings will offer upwards of $50,000 to first for rounds 2 and 3 showdown and sometimes up to $100,000 for the final-round contests. They also provide weekend-long contests that have been offering $25,000 to first for most weekends. Lastly, FanDuel has also tried to get into the weekend-long and final-round contests, offering $10,000 and $5,000 to first.

Previous Round Recap

Day two of no shot tracker or featured groups, and whacked out scoring today is was Matt Jones going from +3, all the way to -4, inside the cut line, and Peter Uliehin going from +8 on the day to +5. It’s undoubtedly adding another layer of tilt onto this week, while simultaneously giving hope to golfers that played poorly.

Hudson Swafford is making the most out of his major medical start this week, as he leads by two over another guy playing on a major medical, Sean Ohair, and upstart 21-year-old Justin Suh, whose in a position to possibly gain access to the tour with a win this week! Remember this is a full FedEx cup event, so if Suh wins, he’ll be in next year’s Master’s, full status, among many more accolades. The biggest weekend in his professional life is in front of him. I’ll be rooting for him the whole way with each way, DraftKings shares, and even a decent outright on him!

A couple of tournament favorites also busted out today with a good score, including Adam Long’s 65 and Mackenzie Hughes 66, putting them just three back of Swafford. Another name to watch out for is Luke List, who went out in a bogey-free 65 today and sits just two back. He didn’t have the best score. Today, however, that honor went to Graham DeLeat, who shot an eight-under 64, but missed the cut on the number. Ouch.

Lineup Review from Round 2:

Both Adam Long & Graham DeLeat were in the winning lineup today, a tough break. The article did feature three of the top 10 scores, though with Suh, Burns, & Hughes, and was able to get a min-cash in the big GPP, which means it would have likely cashed in any event entered. In fact, if we took it a bit further, I wish I had played Luke List instead of Detry, who was also in the article, but hey, we get another chance at it tomorrow!

Top 10 Breakdown and PGA DFS Picks

James Hahn finds himself inside the top 10 as the weekend comes for the second straight start, looking to fulfill his medical terms. In fact, we’ve got three that are trying to do the same thing. Tyler McCumber is enjoying his surfing and golfing this week, as he’s got his best start going in quite some time. Patrick Rodgers also finds himself putting to the top of the leaderboard, as he and Sepp Straka have the worst green in the regulation rank of golfers indie the top 10, well after Swafford, that is, whose using some around the green skill to maintain his lead.

Justin Suh ($7,300)

Having been in a similar position at the Barracuda a few weeks back, Suh really looks like he’s found his game again. They made it a significant point on the telecast today to talk about how he struggled when he didn’t make it on tour, and his three “buddies” Wolff, Morikawa, Hovland all did have each already won a tournament. Some people would take that as a motivating factor, but for Suh, it looked like it damaged him more than it motivated him. However, something has definitely turned his way since the restart of professional golf, and he seems to be back to the type of form he showed throughout most of college, where he’d beat the aforementioned three superstars on a routine basis. If he has some of that pedigree in there, which I think he does, then he’s the favorite heading into the weekend, in my opinion.

Stud or Value Pick Outside of Top 10

Adam Schenk ($9,100)

Another made cut for Schenk, both here at Coarles and for his streak, paying off the Fit & Form article recommendation. He ranks inside the top 10 in GIR and boasts above-average fairways hit the mark, hitting over 70%. So we’ve got him coming in with good form, hitting his irons well, and likes the course, as well as 12 birdies thru the first two rounds? That’s a sign me up for some “shank-ige” on moving day Saturday. I also love Emiliano Grillo in this spot. He will find his putter over the weekend. HE WILL!

Sneaky Pick Outside of Top 10

Thomas the Tank Engine ($6,700)

Tom “joohyung” Kim is now two for two in cuts made on the PGA Tour. He had to do it in fashion today, though, shooting a bogey-free 69, while hitting over 85% of his fairways and ranking inside the top 10 in GIR. That’s a good combo to have for an 18-year-old, and now his price has come way down from the start of the week. It looks like he hasn’t been able to get his putter going over the first two rounds, but I’m ok betting on that for a guy ranking inside the top 10 in both driving accuracy and greens in regulation.

Lineup Fill-Ins

Emiliano Grillo ($9,000)

Matthias Schwab ($8,100)

Xinjun Zhang ($8,500)

Matthew NeSmith ($7,400)
