I am primarily a GPP PGA DFS player and enjoy making up to 450 different lineups. As such, these allocations are likely not exact, but they are targets for the mass-entry GPPs. If this is your first time reading it, let’s go over what you can find in it.

Free Expert Tennis Projections With one of tennis' grand slam events ongoing, we've made Awesemo's expert Tennis DFS projections FREE for the entirety of the French Open. These Tennis DFS Projections are generated from 1,000 simulations and data points, using surface-based statistics for each player. Our projections will not only give you expected points for DraftKings, but a statistical projection breakdown that includes sets won, games won, aces and clean sets.

Key/Legend

The following sections define who will play and what recommended allocation you should play them at:

  • Core: We will start with these golfers in every lineup. At least two from my core will be in every one of the lineups.
  • PFs: We all have our guys, and these are mine. They will be in the player pool at a minimum of 20%.
  • Chalk Zone: These golfers are expected to be the most popular golfers of the week. They are supposed to be widely owned, and so, in a massive GPP, a winning lineup likely won’t have more than one of the guys listed in this area.
  • Alternates: On the PGA Tour, alternates are lucky to get in the field each week. However, it happens all the time due to injuries. In this section, we’ll identify a few lineup alternates that can help fill a lineup and still provide some decent upside.
  • Recommended Allocation: The percentage of time said golfer should be in your lineups, or at least what we are advocating.
  • Projected Ownership: The percentage that the field will have said golfer in their lineups.
  • Variance: The difference between Recommended Allocation and Projected Ownership. A favorable variance gives you leverage.

Last Week’s Recap

Even with Jason Kokrak and Jordan Spieth among my higher owned, a few big misses down below, including Joel Dahmen, cost me a chance at a profitable week. Plus, if you didn’t have 6-for-6, you had no chance to cash given the high percentage. Hopefully we can have a bankroll building week and earn some ammo for the big contests at The U.S. Open.

Expected Weather

Rain will absolutely play a factor this week.

The Memorial Tournament PGA DFS Picks | DraftKings & FanDuel

The Favorites

With Spieth being the highest-priced player in daily fantasy golf yet again and coming off a bad Sunday, there is all the more reason to head to another favorite, Collin Morikawa, for the $555 on FanDuel. It is still worth getting about double the field on Spieth in MMEs this week. Bryson DeChambeau also makes for an intriguing GPP play. Patrick Cantlay seems to be trending in the right direction, but there are still plenty of holes to pick at in his game. It may take another good week to get back to him.

Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel

  • Total expected player pool: 64
  • Expected number of lineups created: 300

Jon Rahm ($11,100 DraftKings/$12,300 FanDuel)

Some may see Rahm’s top-10 at the PGA Championship a few weeks ago as a bit of a backdoor top-10, but Rahm had a chance earlier in the week as well. He came to the 17th tee a couple under for his day already and within an earshot of first, but he decided to take on way too much of the water and made double. He was still able to hang around and earn a good finish, and as the defending champion of the event, Rahm should be in great spirits this week.

Viktor Hovland ($9,900 DraftKings/$11,400 FanDuel)

Surprisingly, neither Hovland nor Rahm have qualified for the Tournament of Champions next year, meaning they haven’t won. But both of them have played some of the most consistent golf of anyone. Hovland coming into this week has five top-fives and just one missed cut all year, back at The Players. He was a bit volatile at The PGA Championship, which can happen at times, but having played this course more than once now, he has a good chance to improve on his 30th-place finish a few weeks ago.

Xander Schauffele ($9,700 DraftKings /$11,200 FanDuel)

At this price about two months ago, Schauffele would be 25% owned, and he is on pace to get half of that this week. That is a great chance to buy a little low and catch the win that he’s been hovering around for so long.

Tony Finau ($9,200 DraftKings/ $10,800 FanDuel)

Finau and Schauffele work in the main lineup on FanDuel, taking advantage of the softer prices. Typically the higher-dollar golfers like Rahm, Spieth and Rory McIlroy go higher owned on FanDuel, while the more value-oriented plays are lesser owned. Finau is a perfect example of this, trending towards the 20% owned mark in DraftKings but under 15% on FanDuel.

Billy Horschel ($8,100 DraftKings/$9,400 FanDuel)

This is another product of pricing on FanDuel, as Horschel is coming off a round on Sunday where he gained strokes in all four facets of his game. Add that to the decent course history, and he is a good pivot from the expected Keegan Bradley chalk this week.

Gary Woodland ($7,900 DraftKings/$9,700 FanDuel)

Everything is pointing in the right direction for Woodland, who finally seemed to find some form after going through a pretty large dry spell. That came after the COVID break, and he lost a considerable amount of weight, which then led to some injuries. He seems healthy now, and as long as he can avoid the big numbers this week, he should be right there.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout ($7,600 DraftKings/ $9,200 FanDuel)

Bezuidenhout has quietly made every cut in every professional tournament he has played since last September. That includes eight PGA Tour events, with his worst finish being 41st and his best seventh; he brings four rounds every week. This range is not going to produce a winner for higher-dollar buy-ins, but Bezuidenhout should be around the top 30 on Sunday. If he can put together a final round, he will pay off the salary quickly.

Golfers Below $7,500

  1. Talor Gooch — He had a solid week last week with all things clicking rather well. If Gooch can wake up the putter a bit more, he could be a sneaky top-10 candidate.
  2. Aaron Wise — Everyone has been waiting for a Wise breakout because the talent is there. Now it seems his putting is getting better and the results will follow. Nothing else in his game is a concern.
  3. Carlos Ortiz — Similar to the approach with Horschel, Ortiz put together a great final round and really just struggled with his putter over the four days. Hopefully that will flip this week.
  4. Henrik Norlander — The plan was to find pivots off of Kyle Stanley this week, but it didn’t really work out that way because FanDuel has Stanley priced appropriately. That’s where Norlander comes in, as he seemed to be getting close last week and has a good fit here.
