Looking for a way to learn PGA DFS without jumping in with both feet? We have a perfect solution for you. This year Yahoo and Yahoo Fantasy are offering a $10,000 freeroll called the PGA “Yahoo Cup.” This contest awards a winner for weekly events and one winner at the end of the season who has the most cumulative points. That winner will receive $1,000. Ultimately, winning the Yahoo Cup comes down to picking the right golfers. Today I will provide my top three value PGA DFS picks based on Yahoo salary, a couple of lineup fill-ins and two different fantasy golf lineup variations for making PGA picks this week at the Wyndham Championship.
Transparency Corner
Right or wrong, it is important to keep track of how we are doing. Below are the results of the lineup I made last week using the top three values and the lineup fill-ins.
Top Three Value Picks for the Wyndham Championship
Louis Oosthuizen ($44)
Oosthuizen has done everything but win this year. Of all the courses on tour, this one grades out the absolute best in terms of his statistical fit. Given that he is not the highest-salary golfer and ranks third highest in projected points at 83.4, the value is substantial at his salary this week.
Anirban Lahiri ($20)
After an encouraging couple of days at the Olympics and a solid run of form, Lahiri needs to make the cut this week and come in the top 40 to make the playoffs. It would be a sweet result after a challenging year for him. He is the minimum salary and pairs nicely with Oosthuizen to free up salary.
Austin Eckroat ($20)
A missed cut last week at the Barracuda Championship will likely steer most gamers clear of Eckroat. In an aggressive build, one that would allow for three golfers over $35 to be in the lineup, Eckroat is one of the names to consider at this salary. Davis Thompson and Akshay Bhatia are another couple of options in this range.

PGA DFS Yahoo Cup Lineup Builds
Aggressive Build
To really stack the top of the board, sub in Sergio Garcia for either Matthew Fitzpatrick or Paul Casey; that should provide the salary flexibility. Garcia was the best player tee to green a few weeks ago at the 3M Open, but he was equally bad with his putter. However, he needs just one good round with the flat stick to provide value at the minimum salary.
Conservative Build
Subbing in Mito Pereira, who has been on fire lately, and taking out the volatile Eckroat gives a more balanced approach. With about $106 in salary available to spend, it should be possible to get at least one more stud in the lineup. Pereira projects as the top-scoring golfer at $30 or below this week.
