Yahoo Cup PGA DFS Picks: The AT&T Byron Nelson Classic

Looking for a way to learn PGA DFS without jumping in with both feet? We have a perfect solution for you. This year, Yahoo and Yahoo Fantasy are offering a $10,000 freeroll called the “Yahoo Cup.” This contest awards a winner for weekly events and one winner at the end of the season who has the most cumulative points. That winner will receive $1,000. Ultimately, winning the Yahoo Cup comes down to picking the right golfers. Today I will provide my top three value PGA DFS picks based on Yahoo salary, a couple of lineup fill-ins and two different lineup variations for building lineups this week at the AT&T Byron Nelson Classic.

New to PGA DFS? Awesemo is the only site with projections from the No. 1 daily fantasy player in the world. We also have loads of free content, including grades, rankings, leverage scores and comprehensive articles like The Winning Element. Come visit the Awesemo PGA Home Page for all of our FREE content for the AT&T Byron Nelson Classic.

Transparency Corner

Right or wrong, it’s important to keep track of how the picks performed the week prior. Here are the players and my corresponding lineup from the previous week.

  • Kyle Stanley (26th)
  • Justin Suh (Missed Cut)
  • Matt Wallace (Sixth)

Top Three Values for The AT&T Byron Nelson Classic

Aaron Wise ($26)

In his fourth year of professional golf, Wise is still only 24 years old. With young players comes volatility, but typically when they get in a groove, they stay in it for a little while — see Sam Burns as of late. Wise seems to be in the midst of one of those stretches, finishing ninth last week and having a couple of good starts prior.

Wise also has the second-highest point projection of any golfer that is under the $30 salary mark this week, behind only Doug Ghim.. Check out the full set of Awesemo PGA DFS projections.

Luke List ($21)

Typically, List is a player that finds himself doing better on courses that require elite ball striking and only marginally good putting rather than a ton of birdies. That might profile perfectly here. List is in a good spot with his form, and it would be silly to jump off a train that’s moving along nicely, especially at this salary.

Keith Mitchell ($20)

Speaking of good form, Mitchell is playing some of his best golf in over two years. Outside of a broken putter at the Valspar, he has put together a string of good starts. Was last week’s sixth-place finish the climax, or does he have another couple of good starts in him? As of now, he would need to win this event to earn a spot in next week’s PGA Championship.

PGA DFS Yahoo Cup Lineup Fill-ins

  • Thomas Pieters ($34)
  • Scottie Scheffler ($45)
  • Bryson DeChambeau ($47)

PGA DFS Yahoo Cup Lineup Builds

Aggressive Build

Pairing all three of the top values together gives one the ability to get virtually any three studs in the lineup. The salaries for the top golfers this week are slightly different, with Harris English coming in above Scheffler and Jordan Spieth. For those who want to play for game theory, English might not be a bad PGA DFS pick.

Conservative Build

Those that believe the climax for Mitchell was last week can replace him with Pieters and should still be able to get two quality studs in the lineup without suffering that much.
