Adam Shaheen Inactive For Week 15

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) is officially inactive for Week 15 against the New York Jets after coming into the game listed as questionable. With Mike Gesicki ahead of him on the tight end depth chart in Miami, Shaheen hasn't been relevant at all in fantasy. He's caught just 12 passes all year on 16 targets for 110 yards and no touchdowns in nine games played. But with Shaheen out of the mix on Sunday, it should open up more snaps for Durham Smythe and rookie Hunter Long behind Gesicki. In a great matchup against the Jets, Gesicki has the potential to be a top-10 fantasy tight end when all is said and done in Week 15.

Adam Shaheen Has Questionable Tag For Week 15

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) was limited in practice all week and is questionable to face the New York Jets on Sunday. Shaheen has missed the last two games with his knee injury, but the fact that he practiced all week bodes well for his chances of returning in Week 15. If the 27-year-old misses his third straight game, it'll open up more playing time for Hunter Long behind starter Mike Gesicki. Shaheen hasn't been a fantasy asset all season long with just 12 catches on 16 targets for 110 yards in nine games played. That will continue to be the case for the rest of the season unless Gesicki misses time with an injury.

Dec 3rd · 09:25 PM
Phillip Lindsay, Adam Shaheen Doubtful To Face Giants

Miami Dolphins running back Phillip Lindsay (ankle) and tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) were both listed as doubtful to play in Week 13 against the New York Giants. Lindsay had two limited practices with a DNP mixed in on Thursday, while Shaheen was limited all week. Lindsay had a surprising season-high 12 carries for 42 yards in his Dolphins debut last week, but he'll likely step aside and let Salvon Ahmed resume his duties as a change-of-pace back behind starter Myles Gaskin this weekend. Even with Lindsay likely out, Ahmed isn't an inspiring fantasy option. Shaheen's likely absence in Week 13 will mean a few more looks for starting TE Mike Gesicki, while Durham Smythe will once again see more playing time.

Phillip Lindsay, Adam Shaheen Limited Wednesday

Miami Dolphins running back Phillip Lindsay (ankle) and tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) were limited in Wednesday's practice. Lindsay played 15 offensive snaps in his team debut in Week 12 and carried the ball 12 times for 42 yards behind Myles Gaskin. Lindsay's addition is obviously bad news for Salvon Ahmed's rest-of-season outlook, but Lindsay won't have much standalone fantasy value in this offense as the No. 2 running back. Shaheen missed last week's win over the Carolina Panthers but is on track to return in Week 13 against the New York Giants. But as the No. 2 behind Mike Gesicki when healthy, Shaheen has no fantasy value. He's caught 12 of 16 targets for 110 scoreless yards in nine games in 2021.

Adam Shaheen Ruled Out Against The Panthers

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) missed practice all week and has been ruled out for the Week 12 game against the Carolina Panthers. Shaheen hasn't done much this year in fantasy behind Mike Gesicki, as he's caught 12 of 16 targets for 110 yards and no touchdowns in nine games for the Dolphins. With Shaheen out this weekend, Durham Smythe and Cethan Carter could see the field more to spell Gesicki. The Panthers defense hasn't allowed a ton of production to opposing tight ends this year as one of the better pass defenses in the NFL, but Gesicki should still be considered at least a midrange TE1 at the weakest position in fantasy. Gesicki put up a donut in Week 10 but rebounded with five catches for 50 yards on six targets in Week 11.

Nov 25th · 01:11 AM
Adam Shaheen Misses Practice Wednesday

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) wasn't able to get on the practice field on Wednesday. Shaheen suffered the injury in the Week 11 win over the New York Jets. He'll need to get back on the practice field on either Thursday or Friday if he hopes to play in Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers. Shaheen hasn't been fantasy relevant at all this year while playing behind Mike Gesicki. The 27-year-old has caught 12 of his 16 targets for 110 scoreless yards in nine games played. If Shaheen's injury is serious enough to keep him out of action this Sunday, Durham Smythe could see some more playing time behind Gesicki.

Sep 15th · 04:20 PM
Adam Shaheen Coming Off COVID-19 List

Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores said that tight end Adam Shaheen will be back at practice on Wednesday after coming off the COVID-19 list. Shaheen was inactive in the Week 1 win over the New England Patriots, but he should make his 2021 season debut in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills, and he could see some looks in two-tight end sets. However, Durham Smythe, Hunter Long and Mike Gesicki saw snaps in the season opener, so there are a lot of bodies at the tight end position in Miami. Shaheen is mostly useful for his blocking, so fantasy managers can look away. Gesicki has the most fantasy upside of this group, but his stock is dropping quickly after he played just 21 offensive snaps in Week 1.

Adam Shaheen Placed On COVID-19 List

The Miami Dolphins placed tight end Adam Shaheen and left tackle Austin Jackson on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday. Cornerback Jamal Perry was elevated to the active roster as a COVID-19 replacement. Shaheen landed on the list due to a positive COVID-19 test, although he doesn't have any major symptoms. Due to the NFL's protocols, the 26-year-old will be out at least 10 days and will not be available for Week 1. A former second-round pick by the Chicago Bears, Shaheen has become a fantasy afterthought and had just 12 receptions for 150 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games (five starts) in his first season in Miami in 2020. Mike Gesicki is the tight end to target in fantasy for the Dolphins.

Aug 27th · 11:49 PM
Adam Shaheen To Miss Preseason Finale

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen (hamstring, knee) has missed the last couple of practices with hamstring and knee issues, according to a source. An MRI exam on his knee came back negative, but he will miss the team's preseason finale this weekend, and his short-term status beyond that is unknown. The 26-year-old shouldn't really be on anyone's fantasy radar as the backup to Mike Gesicki. He managed to catch only 12 passes for a career-high 150 yards and three touchdowns in his first year in Miami in 2020. Along with the injury concerns, rookie third-rounder Hunter Long figures to be a threat to Shaheen's playing time this year.

Dec 14th · 12:49 AM
Adam Shaheen Hauls In Two Receptions

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen was sadly not heavily involved in the gameplan during the Week 14 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. He hauled in two of his three targets for 26 yards in the loss. Normally, his outings aren't noteworthy, but Mike Gesicki (arm) went down in this game. Shaheen might be a possible streaming option next week, assuming Gesicki remains out. Although, the New England Patriots have a tough defense, so he'd be a risky streaming choice.

Oct 31st · 05:38 PM
Adam Shaheen Listed As Questionable Against Rams

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Week 8 against the Rams. Shaheen was a limited participant in practice all week, so he has a good shot at playing this Sunday. Just signed to a two-year extension worth up to $7.85 million this week, the 26-year-old has scored in each of his last two games. He had his best performance of the season in Week 6, catching all three of his targets for 51 yards and the score. But Shaheen has just seven targets and five catches for 58 yards in six games this year and remains behind Mike Gesicki in the tight end pecking order in Miami. Shaheen shouldn't be considered for starting fantasy lineups in Week 8.

Oct 30th · 11:25 PM
Adam Shaheen Might See Higher Usage

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen (shoulder) has pretty much gone unnoticed in fantasy leagues until Week 6. He hauled in all three of his targets for 51 yards and one touchdown in the victory over the New York Jets. The team recently signed Shaheen to a new two-year $7.6 million deal. Clearly, the Dolphins want to keep Shaheen involved in their gameplan moving forward. Although, it's unclear how many targets Shaheen will see with new quarterback Tua Tagovailoa taking over under center. Shaheen is questionable at the moment for Week 8 and his workload is uncertain. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on him and see if he's able to develop chemistry with Tagovailoa.

Oct 28th · 03:37 PM
Dolphins Signing Adam Shaheen To Extension

The Miami Dolphins are signing tight end Adam Shaheen to a two-year contract extension on Wednesday that's worth a maximum value of $7.85 million, including $3.2 million fully guaranteed, according to a source. Shaheen's deal was set to expire after the 2020 season. The 26-year-old has done very little since the Bears took him in the second round in 2017. He has only 31 catches for 307 yards and six touchdowns in 33 career games (15 starts) and has caught five of his seven targets for 58 yards and two touchdowns in six games in 2020 in his first season in Miami. Shaheen had his best game in Week 6 against the Jets, catching all three of his targets for 51 yards and a score, but Mike Gesicki is the fantasy relevant tight end for the Dolphins.

Oct 19th · 03:33 AM
Adam Shaheen Finds The End Zone

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen was able to find the end zone for the second straight week. He hauled in all three of his targets for 51 yards and one touchdown in the victory over the New York Jets. It was a nice performance by Shaheen who surprisingly put together a solid game. However, it'll be tough to trust him in fantasy leagues going forward since he's not a big part of the offense. He probably won't be on the fantasy radar against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8 following the bye week.

Adam Shaheen, Others Available For Trade

Chicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen, Indianapolis Colts safety Malik Hooker, Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle P.J. Hall and Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Rasul Douglas are players that are available via trade in advance of this week's draft. Chicago already released tight end Trey Burton recently, and Shaheen could be the next to depart the Windy City after they signed Jimmy Graham in free agency. Shaheen, 25, has played in just 27 games since being drafted in the second round in 2017, and he had just nine receptions for 74 yards and no touchdowns in eight games in 2019 due to injuries. If he stays in Chicago, he'll only be worth owning as a low-end TE2 if Graham misses time due to injury.

Nov 30th · 06:04 PM
Bears Put Adam Shaheen On Injured Reserve

The Chicago Bears placed tight end Adam Shaheen (foot) on Injured Reserve on Saturday, ending his season. Shaheen failed to capitalize this year with Trey Burton injured and ineffective for most of the year. The 25-year-old had just nine receptions for 74 yards and no touchdowns in eight games after securing just five catches for 48 yards and one touchdown in six games in 2018. Even at the thinnest fantasy position, Shaheen won't be on the fantasy radar entering drafts next year. With both Shaheen and Burton on IR now, Ben Braunecker should be Chicago's primary tight end the final four games. He's a desperation TE2 in a dysfunctional offense, however.

Nov 15th · 07:05 PM
Trey Burton, Adam Shaheen Ruled Out

Chicago Bears tight ends Trey Burton (calf) and Adam Shaheen (foot) both missed practice on Friday and have been ruled out for Week 11 on Sunday night against the Rams. Burton really has done nothing of note in the passing game this year, so it's not a huge blow for the Bears offense. It means that Ben Braunecker will be the primary pass-catching tight end on Sunday night against the Rams, but he shouldn't be looked to as a fantasy streamer at the thinnest of positions.

Sep 24th · 06:52 AM
Adam Shaheen Catches One Pass Against Washington

Chicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen caught one pass for seven yards in the Bears win over the Redskins in Week 3. Shaheen was featured early as the Bears flashed a lot of heavy formations on offense. But the athletic tight end seemed to disappear after making his only reception of the game. The former second-round pick has a reputation of struggling to recover after incurring in-game contact and this game was no exception. Shaheen has little fantasy value but has the potential to catch a few short-yardage touchdowns in the red zone this season for the Bears,

Sep 16th · 12:56 AM
Adam Shaheen Surprises With Three Receptions

Chicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen caught three passes for 24 yards in the Bears comeback win over the Broncos in Week 2. The former second-round pick has the talent but has been a mercurial asset for the Bears in his career. But he made some nice receptions in this game, including one moment when he caught a pass, broke a tackle and picked up a big first down. Shaheen has struggled with injuries throughout his career so he will have to string a few more games together before he can even be considered for a roster spot in fantasy.

Aug 20th · 02:11 AM
Adam Shaheen Slow To Progress

Chicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen is still working his way up to full speed with three weeks until the regular season begins. The third-year tight end suffered a back injury early on in camp and has been slow to get back into the swing of things. Shaheen has excellent 50/50-ball talent and is a red zone threat but has struggled mightily staying healthy during his short career. The chances of Shaheen making an impact early on in the regular season are getting slimmer by the day.

Aug 16th · 10:00 PM
Adam Shaheen Not Likely To Play Friday

Chicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen is not expected to play in the team's second exhibition game against the Giants on Friday. Shaheen has been dealing with a back injury since the beginning of camp and has been slow to work his way back. Even if he is currently healthy, the Bears will not risk further injury to a player that has failed, thus far, to tap into his potential. The former second-round pick has struggled to stay on the field through the first two years of his career. Shaheen has talent but is not fantasy viable until he can prove to consistently be able to stay on the field.

Apr 11th · 05:16 PM
Adam Shaheen Could Be More Of Blocking Tight End

Chicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen, who has appeared in just 19 of a possible 32 regular season games during his career due to injury, could be in line for more blocking duties in 2019. He could see more time as the "Y" blocker now that Dion Sims is no longer with the team. Shaheen can also create mismatches in the red zone, but Trey Burton is the team's primary pass-catching tight end, giving Shaheen limited fantasy upside. Chicago could elect to draft another in-line blocking tight end to help Shaheen this season.

Nov 19th · 06:28 AM
Adam Shaheen Enters Concussion Protocol

Chicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen did not finish the Bears 25-20 win over the Vikings and is currently in concussion protocol. Shaheen was activated this week for the first time this season but now it is possible he may miss more time. Shaheen possibly suffered the concussion coming down with 50/50 ball from quarterback Mitch Trubisky for a two-point conversion in the second half. The second-year tight end has the physical tools to be a real threat in the red zone. But staying on the field has been a different matter all together and his status for Week 12 looks bleak with the Bears heading towards a Thanksgiving showdown against the Lions.

Nov 6th · 04:56 PM
Adam Shaheen Could Return To Practice This Week

Chicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen (foot), who has been on Injured Reserve since he injured his foot in the preseason, could resume practicing with the team as early as this Wednesday, according to head coach Matt Nagy. However, it'd start a three-week window for him to be activated, and he'd unlikely be ready to play in Week 10 against the Lions. It'd give the Bears another weapon in the passing game, but Shaheen is unlikely to unseat Trey Burton as the main pass-catching tight end, although it could eat into Burton's snaps a bit. Shaheen showed pass-catching upside at the end of his rookie year in 2017, and he finished with 12 catches on 14 targets for 127 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games.

Sep 3rd · 04:35 AM
Adam Shaheen To Be Put On IR

Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace said tight end Adam Shaheen (ankle, foot) will be put on Injured Reserve. Shaheen had a promising end to his rookie season, but he won't be able to return until after Week 8 this year. You can leave him on the waiver wire. Trey Burton should be the team's main pass-catching tight end and isn't a bad TE2 target.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
