Allen Hurns Expected To Miss Three Months

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Allen Hurns (wrist) has a wrist injury that requires surgery and is expected to miss the next three months. He was unable to suit up in Saturday's preseason game against the Chicago Bears after sustaining a wrist injury earlier in training camp. The 29-year-old was on the roster bubble and competed with Albert Wilson, Jakeem Grant, and Mack Hollins for a spot on the Dolphins wide receiver depth chart. Hurns is expected to be placed on the injured reserve in the coming days. The former Jaguar hasn't played since 2019 after opting out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19. Hurns hauled in 32 catches for 416 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games for the Dolphins in 2019. Wilson, Grant, and Robert Foster are expected to see increased opportunities in the preseason while Hurns is sidelined.

Allen Hurns Fighting For A Roster Spot

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Allen Hurns is in danger of missing the cut later this summer at training camp. Will Fuller, rookie Jaylen Waddle, DeVante Parker, Preston Williams and Lynn Bowden Jr. are likely locked into the first five receiver spots. Hurns is a versatile veteran, but he'll be competing with Albert Wilson, Jakeem Grant (an All-Pro kick returner) and Mack Hollins, who also stands out on special teams, for the remaining one or two spots. Wilson and Grant might have the early edge on Hurns heading into training camp. It didn't help that the 29-year-old opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 after producing 32 catches for 416 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games (seven starts) for the Dolphins in 2019.

Dec 29th · 03:52 PM
Allen Hurns Won't Play In Season Finale

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Allen Hurns (ankle, neck) is inactive for Week 17 against the Patriots. Hurns will end the 2019 season with 32 receptions on 47 targets for 416 yards and two touchdowns in his first year in Miami. The Dolphins are facing one of the top secondaries in the NFL to close out the season, so it could be tough sledding for all of their pass-catchers with Hurns out. Devante Parker will likely lock horns with shutdown cornerback Stephon Gilmore. Albert Wilson could be a sneaky DFS play with Hurns out, while Isaiah Ford should operate as the No. 3 wideout in Week 17.

Dec 27th · 08:44 PM
Allen Hurns Questionable Against Patriots

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Allen Hurns (ankle, neck) was limited in practice on Friday and is questionable for Week 17 against the Patriots. Hurns has just 32 catches for 416 yards and two touchdowns on the season, so he hasn't really been on the fantasy radar to begin with, let alone in a tough matchup against one of the league's best secondaries. He had just one catch for 13 yards in the first meeting with New England on Sept. 15. If Hurns doesn't suit up, Albert Wilson could be an intriguing DFS sleeper out of the slot in a game where the Dolphins will likely have to pass often. Isaiah Ford would be the No. 3 wideout behind Wilson and Devante Parker if Hurns is inactive on Sunday.

Dec 12th · 08:07 PM
Allen Hurns A Full Practice Participant

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Allen Hurns (ankle, knee) returned to a full practice on Thursday after being a spectator at Wednesday's session. It puts him on track to play in Week 15 in a sweet matchup against the Giants. It could become even sweeter if one or both of Devante Parker (concussion) and Albert Wilson (concussion) are unable to get cleared from the league's concussion protocol. Hurns has only 29 catches for 366 yards and two touchdowns on the season, but he could become Miami's No. 1 wideout if both Parker and Wilson are inactive this weekend. That'd put Hurns on the streaming map in DFS and deeper leagues.

Dec 11th · 11:29 PM
Allen Hurns Misses Practice Wednesday

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Allen Hurns (ankle, knee) did not take part in practice on Wednesday. All three of Hurns, Devante Parker (concussion) and Albert Wilson (concussion) are in danger of missing the Week 15 contest against the Giants. Hurns has become the No. 2 behind Parker late in the year, but he still has only 29 receptions (44 targets) for 366 yards and two touchdowns on the season. Hurns will only be worth a flier as a flex play in deeper leagues if Parker is inactive this Sunday. Receivers Trevor Davis, Isaiah Ford and Mack Hollins could be forced into heavy playing time this weekend as well.

Nov 29th · 05:59 PM
Albert Wilson, Allen Hurns Good To Go

Miami Dolphins wide receivers Albert Wilson (chest, hip) and Allen Hurns (ankle) both practiced fully on Friday and are good to go for Week 13 against the Eagles. Wilson has just 20 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown in eight games this year and is behind Devante Parker and Hurns in the pecking order in Miami, so he's more of a WR5 in PPR leagues with minimal upside. Hurns has 21 catches for 265 yards and two scores this year. He also is a low-upside fantasy dart throw as a WR5, but he's a bit more attractive than Wilson against Philly.

Sep 27th · 07:40 PM
Albert Wilson Questionable, Allen Hurns Out

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Albert Wilson (calf, hip) is listed as questionable for Week 4 against the Chargers, while receiver Allen Hurns (concussion) has been ruled out. Wilson was limited in practice all week and has a good shot to return since going down with an injury in the season opener. If he's active, he'll mix in on three-receiver sets with Devante Parker and rookie Preston Williams. Jakeem Grant would be the biggest loser if Wilson returns. The Dolphins could surely use Wilson back in the offense in the slot, and he could be a sneaky weapon in deeper PPR leagues, but those in standard-sized leagues can afford to wait and see in this bad Dolphins offense.

Sep 24th · 04:13 AM
Allen Hurns In Concussion Protocol

Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores said that wide receiver Allen Hurns (concussion) is in the protocol and is on his way back to Miami. Hurns was hospitalized after suffering a head injury in the Week 3 loss to the Cowboys. The 27-year-old has just one catch in each of the first three games of the season, totaling 41 yards on six targets. He'll be questionable, at best, to play in Week 4 against the Chargers, but he's not on the fantasy radar in most leagues. Miami will continue to roll with Devante Parker, rookie Preston Williams and Jakeem Grant in three-wide receiver sets until Albert Wilson (calf) is able to return. Stay away from the Dolphins offense.

Aug 28th · 03:43 AM
Allen Hurns Unlikely To Make Roster

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Allen Hurns appears unlikely to make the 53-man roster behind Devante Parker, Kenny Stills, Albert Wilson, Jakeem Grant and Preston Williams. Brice Butler and Isaiah Ford are also on the bubble but have made cases to stick around. Hurns has fallen far since his 1,000-yard season with the Jaguars in 2015. He was an absolute bust in his lone season with Dallas in 2018, catching 20 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns and he might be working for work again soon.

Jul 26th · 02:18 PM
Dolphins Sign Allen Hurns

Just a couple of days after the Dallas Cowboys released him, the Miami Dolphins have signed wide receiver Allen Hurns. Hurns suffered an ankle injury in the playoffs last year that limited his offseason workout time, but he's expected to be ready to go for Week 1. In Miami, he'll compete with Davante Parker and Kenny Stills for snaps on the outside. Hurns' will most likely wind up as the number-four receiver in Miami behind those two and Albert Wilson, a role that won't lend itself to much fantasy production.

Jul 23rd · 05:06 PM
Cowboys Release Allen Hurns

The Dallas Cowboys have released wide receiver Allen Hurns, who broke his fibula in a playoff game last season. It's unclear if Hurns was going to be ready to go for the Cowboys when training camp began, but he was expected to play this season. He'll have a chance to latch on somewhere else, but it would be a stretch to expect Hurns to be a fantasy relevant player in 2019. His departure from Dallas might help Tavon Austin see the field more, but Hurns wasn't a threat to compete for snaps with Dallas' top three wideouts.

Jun 11th · 04:57 PM
Allen Hurns Moving To Individual Drills

Dallas Cowboys wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal said that wide receiver Allen Hurns (ankle, leg) ran routes against air last week and is moving to individual drills at minicamp on Tuesday. Hurns suffered a devastating leg injury in the playoffs last year. He was a disappointment to say the least in his first year in Dallas over a full season, catching just 20 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns. With the addition of Randall Cobb as a free agent in the offseason behind Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, Hurns won't have much of a role in the passing game unless an injury occurs ahead of him in 2019.

May 27th · 10:58 PM
Allen Hurns Expected To Return For Training Camp

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns (ankle, leg) is expected to return at some point in training camp after suffering a gruesome lower leg injury in the playoffs last season. He continues to rehab a dislocated left ankle and fractured left fibula, and the Cowboys will give him a chance to win a starting job behind Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and Randall Cobb. The 27-year-old caught just 20 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns in his first season with Dallas, though, and he won't be on many fantasy owners' radars going into drafts this fall. The Cowboys can save $5 million in salary cap space if they release Hurns, so he's not guaranteed to stick with them.

May 25th · 04:00 PM
Allen Hurns Not Taking Part In OTAs

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns (ankle) will not take part in organized team activities. Also sitting out are defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence (shoulder), wide receiver Tavon Austin and linebacker Leighton Vander Esch (pelvis). Hurns, 27, was a disappointment in his first year in Dallas, catching only 20 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games. With Randall Cobb now in the fold alongside Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, Hurns is even less appealing in deep fantasy leagues.

Jan 6th · 03:58 PM
Allen Hurns Dislocates Ankle Saturday, Undergoes Surgery

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns (ankle) suffered a gruesome dislocated ankle in the wild-card victory over the Seahawks on Saturday and underwent surgery on Saturday, according to a source. Hurns is expected to be ready to return to football by August, barring any setbacks or complications. The injury was difficult to watch and Hurns was in an extreme amount of pain, but the good news is he should be ready for next season. The 27-year-old had just 20 catches (35 targets) for 295 yards and two touchdowns in his first year in Dallas and won't be on the fantasy radar heading into 2019 with Michael Gallup's role increasing going into his second year.

Nov 29th · 11:20 PM
Allen Hurns Playing Against Saints

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns (thumb) is active for Thursday night against the Saints. Even in a good matchup against New Orleans' defense, Hurns has no business being in starting fantasy lineups. The 27-year-old has four catches and one touchdown in the last four games. Amari Cooper is the only Cowboys wideout that should be utilized by fantasy owners on Thursday.

Nov 23rd · 03:22 AM
Allen Hurns Catches One Pass for Seven Yards on Thanksgiving

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns had a typical 2018 Allen Hurns game on Thanksgiving, catching just one pass for a seven yard gain. Hurns is barely a part of the offense at this point, as the Cowboys focus on getting the ball to Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper. Hurns is droppable in most formats at this point.

Nov 21st · 05:36 PM
Allen Hurns Unusable in Week 12

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns is not a realistic fantasy option in a Week 12 matchup against Washington. Hurns was not even in the box score in Week 11, catching zero passes. For the season, he's caught 16 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns despite being active for every game. He's fallen far behind several other wide receivers in target share and at this point should only be rostered in the deepest leagues.

Nov 14th · 03:55 PM
Allen Hurns Not a Strong Option Even With a Good Matchup

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns is not a recommended fantasy option in Week 11 despite a good matchup against a soft Atlanta Falcons defense. He's at best the fifth option in a low-yield passing game, making him nearly unusable in fantasy outside of the deepest of leagues. He can be dropped in most formats.

Nov 12th · 03:38 AM
Allen Hurns Catches Two Passes in Week 10

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns caught two passes on Sunday night, gaining 40 yards. Hurns was again barely a part of the passing game and now with Amari Cooper on the team, Hurns is trending downward more than he was before. He's barely on the fantasy radar and should be a depth piece in deep leagues at best.

Nov 6th · 05:15 AM
Allen Hurns Brings In a Touchdown on Monday Night

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns caught just one pass on Monday night, but he made it count, scoring a 23-yard touchdown. Hurns embarrassed Titans defensive back Malcolm Butler, breezing past him with a double move. Despite Monday's touchdown, Hurns is too low on the pecking order to rely on in most fantasy formats, especially after the addition of Amari Cooper.

Oct 31st · 03:46 PM
Allen Hurns Not a Fantasy Starter in Week 9

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns can't be trusted as a starter in Week 9. The Cowboys will take on the Tennessee Titans, and the newly acquired Amari Cooper will bring the other Cowboys receivers down to a lower ranking than before (which was already low enough.) Hurns has caught just 13 passes this season and is nothing more than a dart throw in the deepest of leagues.

Oct 17th · 05:24 PM
Allen Hurns Not Recommended In Week 7

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns is not a starting fantasy option in standard-sized leagues for Week 7 against the Redskins. Hurns did not record a catch in Week 6 despite being targeted five times and now has eight catches for 84 yards total this season. That makes for a promising first half in fantasy, not so much for six whole games. The Cowboys passing game is in shambles and the entire offense runs through Ezekiel Elliott with special guest appearances from Cole Beasley. Hurns is way off the fantasy radar and should be dropped by anyone still holding on.

Oct 15th · 03:03 AM
Allen Hurns Doesn't Show Up on the Week 6 Box Score

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns was targeted five times in Week 6, but ended up with no catches. The disappearing act was just another disappointing day for the Dallas wide out. Expected to take over as the team's WR1, Hurns has instead recorded a total of eight catches for 84 yards through all six games. He's more or less droppable in redraft leagues, as there's sure to be someone on a box score somewhere available on the waiver wire.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
