Amari Cooper Makes Just Two Catches In Week 13

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper returned to the field in Week 13 after a two-week absence due to COVID-19 but played sparingly, making just two catches for 41 yards. He ended up only seeing two targets in his first game back after testing positive for COVID-19 without being vaccinated. Cooper only played on 35% of the offensive snaps for Dallas in this game. He should be back to his full role in Week 14, but he won't be able to be relied on as more than a high-floor WR3 in that game.

Amari Cooper Active Thursday Night

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper (illness) will play Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints, but on a limited workload. Cooper has missed two weeks due to the NFL's protocols for unvaccinated players, but there was a strong possibility that he could miss his Week 13 matchup. Fortunately Cooper will play, but fantasy managers should remain hesitant in starting him if they have viable bench options, as he is not fully healthy and is expected to be limited. As for the Cowboys other options, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb remains a WR1, receiver Michael Gallup is a flex-worthy option, tight end Dalton Schultz is a low-level TE1 and running backs Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard are both startable. Even if Cooper performs poorly this week, his activation is a very encouraging sign for the fantasy playoffs in the near future.

Amari Cooper Officially Questionable Against Saints

Dallas Cowboys wide receivers Amari Cooper and Malik Turner (illness) are both questionable to play on Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints. Cooper returned to a limited practice on Wednesday after being activated from the COVID-19 list, and he's expected to play after missing the last two games. Still, given Cooper's long layoff and the fact that he wasn't feeling well earlier this week, it's fair to wonder if he'll play a full complement of snaps in his return. The Cowboys will also have CeeDee Lamb (concussion) returning from a one-game absence and Michael Gallup, so it's entirely possible that Cooper plays more of the third wideout role with Cedrick Wilson (ankle) ruled out. Cooper will be a shaky flex play if he's officially active Thursday.

Amari Cooper Activated From COVID-19 List

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper has officially been activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday. Cooper is expected to travel with the team on Wednesday and play on Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints. He tested positive for COVID-19 and has missed the team's last two games, so it's unclear if Cooper will be in line for a normal amount of snaps. Head coach Mike McCarthy himself said that Cooper was still feeling under the weather earlier this week, and he hasn't been on the field in over 12 days. With CeeDee Lamb (concussion) returning from a one-game absence, Cooper will be a volatile flex play for fantasy managers in his return to the field.

Amari Cooper Expected To Play Thursday Night

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper is expected to travel with the team to New Orleans on Wednesday and play against the Saints on Thursday night, according to a source. Cooper, who is unvaccinated, tested positive for COVID-19 and has missed the last two games. The 27-year-old remains on the COVID-19 list, but it sounds as though the Cowboys are expecting him to be cleared in time for Thursday's game. Cooper's return will lower the ceiling and floor of Michael Gallup, but there's also the question of whether Cooper will have his snaps limited after contracting the virus and missing the last two games. The Saints have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to WRs per game this year, but the fact that CeeDee Lamb (concussion) should be back on Thursday as well, will make Cooper a highly volatile WR3/flex in his return.

Dec 1st · 05:34 PM
Amari Cooper - Week 13 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper is questionable, at best, for Week 13's Thursday Night Football matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Cooper has missed the last two games after contracting COVID-19, and he isn't vaccinated. He was originally expected to be able to return for Week 13, but head coach Mike McCarthy has said that Cooper "is not feeling the best" and that he "[doesn't] see him going to the game." Cooper's third absence in a row will up the ceilings and floors of CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.

Nov 30th · 05:20 PM
Amari Cooper Not Feeling The Best

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper is back in the team's building but "still not feeling the best," according to head coach Mike McCarthy. Cooper tested positive for COVID-19 and has missed the last two games while being unvaccinated. He still has a cough, and it's "to be determined" if he'll practice on Tuesday. "My gut would be if he doesn't practice tomorrow, I don't see him going to the game," McCarthy said. An earlier report suggested that the Cowboys expected Cooper to return in Week 13, but this makes it sound a bit more up in the air. If the 27-year-old does return against the New Orleans Saints, he might not play his usual number of snaps and would be a risky fantasy option, especially with CeeDee Lamb (concussion) on track to return after he missed the Thanksgiving game.

Nov 30th · 03:59 PM
Amari Cooper Expected To Play In Week 13

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper is expected to be available for Thursday night's game against the New Orleans Saints, according to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Cooper has missed the past two games against the Chiefs and Raiders after testing positive for COVID-19 prior to Week 11, so the Cowboys get some much-needed help at the receiver position after losing back-to-back games. CeeDee Lamb (concussion) is on track to return, so quarterback Dak Prescott could potentially have his full arsenal of Cooper, Lamb and Michael Gallup, which he has only had for one full game this season. Cooper should be able to offer solid WR2 value in his return to action, but fantasy managers should be cautious as there are a lot of mouths to feed in the Dallas offense.

Nov 19th · 09:32 PM
Amari Cooper Will Miss Week 12 As Well

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list and will miss the team's next two games. Cooper will miss this Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs and next Thursday's Thanksgiving game against the Las Vegas Raiders. It's a tough blow for the Cowboys and for fantasy managers posturing to make a run at a playoff spot in the second half of the season. CeeDee Lamb could move to the outside, where he hasn't been as productive, be he'll remain a must-start WR1 with a high ceiling as the team's top pass-catching option. Michael Gallup's fantasy stock also goes way up after he returned from Injured Reserve last week, although Cedrick Wilson should have a role as well. Tight end Dalton Schultz, who disappointed last week, becomes more attractive as a midrange TE1 with Cooper out the next two games.

Nov 19th · 09:03 PM
Amari Cooper Placed On COVID-19 List, Won't Play Sunday

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday and will miss the team's Week 11 showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. His availability for next Thursday's game on Thanksgiving will also be in doubt. If Cooper is vaccinated, he will need to return two negative tests in order to be activated in time to play in Week 12. CeeDee Lamb could be forced back to the outside, where he hasn't been as productive, but he'll obviously still be a must-start wideout in fantasy with Cooper out. Michael Gallup, who just returned from Injured Reserve last week, will have an expanded role in a potential shootout as an upside WR3/flex option, but Cedrick Wilson will also see more of a role. And after a disappointing outing last week, tight end Dalton Schultz has a great opportunity to bounce back.

Nov 18th · 05:20 PM
Amari Cooper - Week 11 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper (hamstring) is a middling fantasy option in Week 11 lineups. The Cowboys will be taking on the Kansas City Chiefs in what should be a high-scoring contest, but Cooper has clearly fallen behind in quarterback Dak Prescott's progressions, posting just 12 total fantasy points in the last two weeks combined. He still has the WR1 upside, but CeeDee Lamb has unquestionably taken over as the team's first option in the passing game. Cooper is still on the injury report with a hamstring issue that he's been dealing with for several weeks, but he's been able to practice in full leading up to Sunday's game.

Nov 15th · 01:48 AM
Amari Cooper Makes Four Catches In Week 10 Win

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper made four catches on four targets in a Week 10 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Cooper's four catches were good for 51 yards, the third most on the team. He may have had a bigger game, but the Cowboys basically stopped throwing after three quarters while nursing a lead that would turn into a 43-3 win. Cooper had an outstanding Week 8 but has been average at best otherwise. He'll look to get back into the high-end WR2 conversation in a Week 11 showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Nov 10th · 09:39 PM
Amari Cooper - Week 10 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper (hamstring) didn't do much in a Week 9 loss to the Denver Broncos, but then again no one on the Cowboys offense did. Cooper was targeted five times in the blowout loss, catching just two passes for 37 yards. It was a disappointing dud for Cooper after his 8-122-1 performance in Week 8. Week 10 sees the Cowboys face off against a soft Falcons defense, leaving Cooper as a solid WR2 with some legitimate upside. He was limited in practice with a hamstring issue, but there does not seem to be any concern about Cooper missing Week 10. It'll be something to keep an eye on just in case, however.

Nov 8th · 12:03 AM
Amari Cooper Makes Two Grabs In Week 9

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper only made two catches in a Week 9 dud against the Denver Broncos. In a game that the Cowboys trailed 30-0 at one point, Cooper saw five targets and caught two balls for 37 yards. Those 37 yards led all Cowboys wide receivers in an overall disastrous game on both sides of the ball for Dallas. Cooper and the Cowboys will hope for better results in a good matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10.

Nov 7th · 01:43 PM
Amari Cooper Suiting Up In Week 9

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper (hamstring) is listed as questionable but will play against the Broncos on Sunday, according to NFL.com's Tom Pelissero. Cooper has been steady this season, catching 38 passes for 495 yards and five touchdowns through seven games. With Dak Prescott returning to action, fantasy managers can feel comfortable starting Cooper as a WR2 against Denver's downward-trending defense.

Nov 5th · 11:36 PM
Amari Cooper Expected To Play Despite Questionable Tag

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper (hamstring) is officially questionable for Week 9 against the Denver Broncos, but he was able to practice on a limited basis this week and is expected to play on Sunday. Cooper had his second 100-yard game of the season in the Week 8 win over the Minnesota Vikings, catching eight of his 13 targets for 122 yards and his fifth touchdown of the season with backup quarterback Cooper Rush throwing him passes. With Dak Prescott (calf) returning this weekend, Cooper will be a strong WR2 for fantasy managers. The Broncos defense has been decent at slowing down opposing receivers in terms of fantasy points recently, but they've also given up plenty of big plays to the position this year.

Nov 4th · 03:46 PM
Amari Cooper - Week 9 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper finally broke out of a slump in Week 8, catching eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown even with Cooper Rush in at quarterback. With Dak Prescott (calf) expected back but CeeDee Lamb (ankle) questionable, Cooper could see the lion's share of work in the passing game in Week 9. Facing a Denver Broncos defense that just lost Von Miller at the trade deadline, Cooper is a strong WR2 choice with upside in Week 9 lineups.

Nov 3rd · 04:33 PM
Amari Cooper To Be Limited Wednesday

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper (hamstring) will be limited in practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. Cooper is likely just receiving a little maintenance ahead of a Week 9 matchup with the Denver Broncos. Some fantasy managers might've been worried about Cooper falling flat without quarterback Dak Prescott (calf) last weekend, but he did just fine with Cooper Rush filling in under center, catching eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown to lead Dallas' receivers. The 27-year-old should be fine for this weekend against a Broncos defense that has allowed their fair share of deep completions to receivers this year. And with Prescott expected to return, Cooper is a must-start.

Amari Cooper Carries The Cowboys Offense In Week 8

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper led the team in all receiving categories in a Week 8 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Cooper was targeted 13 times, catching eight of those passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. Cooper's touchdown was a game winner, and reportedly the first in NFL history to be thrown by a quarterback (Cooper Rush) with the exact same first name as the receiver's last name. After seeing just 26 targets over the past five games, Cooper saw half that number in this one. He did exit the game temporarily with a hamstring issue, but the fact that he was able to come back into the game and play well likely means he'll be fine for Week 9 against the Broncos.

Oct 28th · 03:38 PM
Amari Cooper - Week 8 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper will look for a fresh start after the Cowboys bye week. Week 8 sees the Cowboys travel to Minnesota for a Sunday Night Football game against the Vikings. Cooper started the season off on fire, posting the overall WR1 performance in Week 1, catching 13 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. That Week 1 performance was good for 32 fantasy points in half PPR leagues. He's totaled just 44 fantasy points since then, averaging just over five targets per game. Cooper's been dinged up a bit, so the hope is that the bye week rest gets him back to his Week 1 form. He's fallen clearly behind CeeDee Lamb on the depth chart though, and Michael Gallup (calf) returning soon could take even more targets away. Cooper still has plenty of upside, but he's hard to trust as anything more than a mid-range WR2.

Oct 18th · 03:24 PM
Amari Cooper Pedestrian Again In Week 6

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper had another uninspiring week in a Week 6 overtime win over the New England Patriots. Cooper was targeted eight times, catching five passes for 55 scoreless yards. There were some volume concerns earlier in the season with Cooper, but quarterback Dak Prescott threw the ball 51 times in this game and Cooper still wasn't able to do much. In PPR leagues, Cooper hasn't been a top-24 fantasy finisher since all the way back in Week 1. He hasn't seemed fully healthy, but he's still had the chances to make plays. The Cowboys will go into their bye week and hope that the rest allows Cooper to heal and come back stronger in Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Oct 14th · 03:49 PM
Amari Cooper - Week 6 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper is set for another strong WR2 performance in Week 6 against the New England Patriots. Cooper has finished as either the top wide receiver in fantasy football (overall WR1 in Week 1), a WR2 (overall WR22 and WR23 in Weeks 4 and 5), or outside of fantasy consideration (WR71 and WR75 in Weeks 2 and 3). Those performances from Weeks 2 and 3 seem like things of the past though, as Cooper has turned into one of quarterback Dak Prescott's favorite red zone targets. Even though Cooper isn't seeing any many total targets as he has in previous seasons, he's been efficient and Prescott has been making all of his throws count. Cooper is dialed in as a mid-range WR2 with touchdown upside.

Oct 11th · 03:42 PM
Amari Cooper Scores In Week 5

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper (hamstring) played well despite dealing with a hamstring injury that limited him in practice throughout the week. Cooper was targeted six times, catching three passes for 60 yards and a touchdown. His score came on a 24-yard pass from quarterback Dak Prescott. With another week to heal up, Cooper should be a strong WR2 play against the Patriots in Week 6 as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks in practice.

Oct 10th · 12:12 PM
Amari Cooper Suiting Up On Sunday

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper (hamstring) is expected to play against the Giants on Sunday. He had been listed as questionable. After an incredible Week 1 showing against Tampa Bay, Cooper has quieted down, logging just nine catches for 119 yards and one touchdown over the last three weeks. While he is a strong weapon in fantasy football and should be deployed as a mid-range WR2 this week, it might take a touchdown in order for him to truly have a productive showing.

Oct 8th · 07:54 PM
Amari Cooper Questionable In Week 5

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 5 against the New York Giants. Cooper is expected to be active on Sunday, but it is worth keeping an eye on as he has been held out or limited at practice leading up to game day. The 27-year-old hasn't gotten a lot of looks as of late and is in for another tough matchup against James Bradberry and a solid Giants' secondary. He can be best valued as a WR2 option this week and should be inserted into lineups if he is active. With just 12 total targets in his last three games, Dak Prescott may want to get his No. 1 receiver back on track in a divisional matchup. Cooper has struggled against the Giants in the past, but fantasy managers shouldn't be too afraid of the matchup.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
