Antonio Gibson Has Another Solid Game On Sunday

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson had another solid performance on Sunday during the win over the Raiders, compiling 88 yards off 23 attempts. He also secured five of his six targets for 23 yards while also finding the end zone off one of those catches. The 23-year-old has turned up the volume, as he now has at least 19 carries in each of his last four games. He's also been an essential contributor on the receiving end, and he could have an even more prominent role moving ahead with Logan Thomas (knee) likely done for the year. Nonetheless, Gibson has been the real deal and should be considered a priority option for fantasy managers in all formats.

Antonio Gibson - Week 13 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson has his outlook on the rise as we head into the stretch run of the season. With J.D. McKissic out, Gibson could be leaned on quite heavily once again, just six days after the sophomore handled a career-high 36 touches against Seattle. Gibson gets another great matchup on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, who have given up the ninth-most rushing yards and a generous 4.4 yards per carry this season. The 23-year-old finds his way back into RB1 territory as he has looked increasingly healthier since Washington's BYE week. After catching a season-high seven passes in Week 12, Gibson could see his passing game usage increase with McKissic sidelined. However, Jaret Patterson could see an increased role, and Wendell Smallwood may get some passing game usage.

Antonio Gibson Ready To Rock In Week 13

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (shin) returned to a full practice on Friday and was removed from the final injury report for Week 13 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Gibson has been limited in practices all year due to a stress fracture in his leg, but he hasn't missed any time and has seen at least 19 carries in each of the last three games. In last week's win over the Seattle Seahawks, he had a season-high 29 carries for 111 yards, his first 100-yard game of 2021, and added a season-high seven catches for 35 yards. With pass-catching back J.D. McKissic (concussion) ruled out, Gibson should be in line for another heavy workload against a Raiders defense that is allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to RBs in the last three weeks. Start Gibson everywhere with confidence in Week 13.

Another Limited Practice For Antonio Gibson

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (shin) was limited in practice on Wednesday to start the week. Gibson continues to be limited in practices while he manages a stress fracture in his shin, but he won't be in danger of missing the Week 13 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders. In fact, the 23-year-old appears to be getting healthier as the season wears on, as he has handled at least 19 carries in three straight games. In the Monday night win over the Seattle Seahawks, he had 36 touches for 146 scrimmage yards. Pass-catching back J.D. McKissic is dealing with a neck injury, too, so another big workload could be coming for Gibson this Sunday. Gibson will be a low-end RB1 in Week 13 against a vulnerable Raiders rush defense.

Antonio Gibson Handles Career-High 36 Touches

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson handled a career-high 36 touches in Monday night's win over Seattle. Gibson ran 29 times for 111 yards and added seven receptions for an additional 35 yards while converting on a two-point rushing attempt. The sophomore's workload suggests that he is closer to full strength than he has been in the past, so it seems his fantasy value is on the rise as we inch closer to the fantasy playoffs. With J.D. McKissic suffering an injury late in the game, Gibson could see his usage in the passing game skyrocket after he caught a season-high seven passes. He has caught no more than three passes in a game this season, so any increase in usage as a receiver would put him back into low-end RB1 for the remainder of the season.

Antonio Gibson - Week 12 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson draws a favorable matchup in Week 12 against the Seattle Seahawks, who have been quite generous to opposing running backs over the past few weeks. Gibson was still able to handle 19 carries in Week 11 after being benched for most of the second quarter after losing a fumble, so he should be able to see a workhorse role on the ground once again on Monday night. The sophomore has a limited role in the passing game with J.D. McKissic in the Washington backfield, as he has caught just seven passes in his past four games. In PPR formats, the 23-year-old is best valued as a mid-range RB2 because of his touchdown dependency and limited role as a pass-catcher.

Nov 27th · 01:00 AM
Antonio Gibson Still Managing Shin Issue

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (shin) put in his second limited practice of the week on Friday as he continues to manage a hairline fracture in his shin that he suffered earlier this season. Gibson continues to operate as Washington lead running back, but he hasn't been nearly as efficient as he was in his rookie year and is averaging just 3.9 yards per carry on his 154 rushing attempts on the season. J.D. McKissic and rookie Jaret Patterson will continue to be sprinkled in when Gibson needs a breather. Coming off a 19-carry, 95-yard performance in the Week 11 win over the Carolina Panthers, Gibson will be a midrange RB2 against a Seahawks defense that has surrendered the fifth-most fantasy points per game to RBs in the last three weeks.

Nov 21st · 09:52 PM
Antonio Gibson Rushes For 95 Yards

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson carried the ball 19 times for 95 yards and recorded a lost fumble in Sunday's 27-21 win over Carolina. Gibson was benched for the remainder of the first half after his fumble but turned a potentially disastrous outing into a somewhat decent production. His workload on the ground was significant once again, but his limited involvement in the passing game has put a cap on his ceiling in games when he doesn't score a touchdown. Gibson's schedule starts to open up down the stretch, but the sophomore is best valued as a high-end RB2 as we approach the fantasy playoffs in the near future.

Nov 19th · 06:12 PM
Antonio Gibson - Week 11 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson looks like he will once again be entering low-end RB1 territory in Week 11, as he handled 26 touches in Week 10 against Tampa Bay. The sophomore draws a matchup with the Carolina Panthers, who have given up the 12th-fewest rushing yards and 12th-fewest rushing touchdowns so far this season. Considering his nose for the end zone, the matchup isn't too worrisome because he has shown he can salvage poor stat lines on the ground by scoring a touchdown. J.D. McKissic didn't see the field much in Week 10, so there could be a path for Gibson to see an increased role in the passing game. Still, 20+ rushing attempts would put him in RB1 territory even if he doesn't catch many passes. He can be started with confidence in Week 11.

Nov 18th · 12:08 AM
Antonio Gibson Still On The Injury Report

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (shin) remains on the injury report for Week 11 and was limited in practice on Wednesday with a hairline fracture in his shin that he's been dealing with for most of the season. But the good news is that he played 63% (his second-highest percentage) of the offensive snaps in the Week 10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and handled a season-high 24 carries for 64 yards and two touchdowns while catching two passes for an additional 14 yards. As long as he remains relatively healthy, the 23-year-old will continue to be Washington's lead back and will be an RB2 for a Week 11 matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

Nov 14th · 09:33 PM
Antonio Gibson Handles 26 Touches, Scores Twice

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson was back to his full workload in Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gibson carried the ball 24 times for 64 yards and two touchdowns while adding two receptions for an additional 14 yards. Although inefficient against a stout run defense, the sophomore showed his upside to score touchdowns once again. It was an encouraging sign to see Gibson handle a significant workload after being limited in their previous game before the BYE week. Moving forward, Gibson can maintain his value as a low-end RB1 or high-end RB2 if he continues to handle the lion's share of carries in the Washington backfield.

Nov 12th · 06:28 PM
Antonio Gibson - Week 10 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson draws an extremely hard matchup against the Tampa Bay run defense in Week 10. The sophomore has seen his role in the offense become diminished while he has been dealing with his shin injury, so he has become extremely touchdown dependent over his past three games. After not scoring a touchdown since Week 5, the 23-year-old has posted three straight lackluster performances for fantasy managers. He now faces arguably the best-run defense in the league, and almost certainly needs to score a touchdown to have any noteworthy fantasy production. With J.D. McKissic handling much of the passing work, Gibson is best valued as an RB2 in Week 10 as he has a limited ceiling.

Nov 10th · 11:22 PM
Antonio Gibson, Dyami Brown Limited Wednesday

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (shin) and rookie wide receiver Dyami Brown (knee) were limited in practice on Wednesday coming off the bye week. Gibson has been playing most of the 2021 season with a stress fracture in his shin, and as a result he has ceded significant touches to passing-down back J.D. McKissic. Before the Week 9 bye, Gibson had a season-low eight carries for 34 yards. With his efficiency down while playing through injury, he's become a low-end RB2 and will have a tough matchup with a stiff Tampa Bay Buccaneers run D this weekend. Brown missed Week 8 with his knee injury but appears to be on track for a return. But with only eight catches on 20 targets for 81 yards in six games on the season, Brown isn't a realistic weekly flex option.

Nov 1st · 12:04 AM
Antonio Gibson Has Limited Role In Week 8

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson finished with just eight carries for 34 yards and added three receptions for 20 yards in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Denver Broncos. Gibson's limited role was almost certainly due to the lingering shin injury he has been dealing with for the past few weeks. In what was a great game script for a rushing attack, the sophomore was a huge disappointment for fantasy managers this week. Moving forward, he should be no longer be valued as an RB1 option, and his outlook for the rest of the season looks less than inspiring. Until he can get fully healthy, it doesn't seem he can be all that effective for Washington.

Oct 29th · 06:36 PM
Antonio Gibson - Week 8 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson has no injury designation and is good to go for a matchup with the struggling Denver Broncos defense. D'Ernest Johnson ran for 144 yards and a touchdown in Week 7 against Denver, so Gibson could potentially be the focal point of the game plan to take advantage of what seems to be a weakness of the opposition. After handling just 24 total carries in his past two games, Gibson seems poised for a larger workload after getting in a good week of practice. He figures to lose the passing work to J.D. McKissic, but if he can find the end zone the sophomore should be able to produce lower-end RB1 in Week 8.

Oct 28th · 12:37 AM
Antonio Gibson Gets In Limited Work Wednesday

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (shin) was a limited practice participant on Wednesday. Gibson continues to battle through a hairline fracture in his shin, but his production has dipped in recent weeks, and he was out-snapped 46-30 in the Week 7 loss to the Green Bay Packers by backup J.D. McKissic. It didn't help that Washington was trailing the entire day. In the last two games combined, Gibson has 24 carries for 95 yards (3.96 yards per tote) and no touchdowns on the ground while catching four of five targets for only five yards. The good news is he'll be facing a Denver Broncos defense that has allowed 406 rushing yards and four touchdowns to RBs in the last three weeks, but Gibson has become more of a low-end RB2 while playing through injury.

Oct 25th · 07:13 PM
J.D. McKissic Outsnaps Antonio Gibson In Week 7

Washington Football Team running back J.D. McKissic out-snapped Antonio Gibson 46-30 in Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers. Gibson has been dealing with a shin injury that has been limiting his production the past couple of weeks, so that is certainly playing a factor in the increased playing time for McKissic. Moving forward, Gibson's value will be slightly decreased because of his limited role in the passing game. As of late, unless he scores a touchdown he is not producing consistent numbers for fantasy managers. McKissic could have FLEX-appeal in PPR leagues moving forward if he continues to out snap the sophomore, and would vault into RB2 territory if Gibson's shin injury eventually causes him to miss time.

Oct 24th · 09:45 PM
Antonio Gibson Quiet In Week 7

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson posted his second straight dud in Week 7, as he was held to just 56 total yards on 16 touches. The sophomore has been dealing with a shin injury, and it is clear that it has been holding him back the past couple of games. Considering his role in the passing game is limited, it is safe to say that Gibson should no longer be valued as an RB1 for fantasy managers moving forward. The 23-year-old should provide high-end RB2 numbers for the rest of the season as he figures to still get the bulk of carries out of the backfield.

Oct 24th · 03:43 PM
Antonio Gibson Active On Sunday

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (shin) is active, as expected, in Week 7 against the Green Bay Packers. Cornerback William Jackson III (knee) is out, so Washington's corner depth will be shaky against the Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Gibson has been playing through a hairline fracture in his shin the last couple weeks, although he did see only 10 carries in the Week 6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Consider him more of an RB2 than RB1 this week, especially since backup and pass-catching back J.D. McKissic could see more run if Washington is playing catchup against a strong Green Bay offense for much of the day.

Oct 24th · 12:41 PM
Antonio Gibson Likely To Play In Week 7

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (shin), dealing with a nagging injury, is expected to suit up Sunday against the Packers. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Gibson was dealing with a hairline fracture in his shin earlier in the year, an injury that seemed to pop back up during last week's contest. Bothered by the injury, the star halfback has yet to exceed the 100-yard scrimmage mark since Week 3- though he does have three touchdowns in his last three games played. Gibson remains in starting territory thanks to his talent and a favorable matchup against a Packers defense that ranks 30th in rush DVOA. He will likely continue to be more touchdown-dependent than usual.

Oct 24th · 01:27 AM
Antonio Gibson Expected To Play In Week 7

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (shin) is listed as questionable in Week 7 but is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. He was limited in practice this week due to a stress fracture in his shin. The 23-year-old logged a season-low 23 snaps (39%), finishing with 44 yards on 10 attempts and a fumble in a Week 6 loss to the Chiefs. Gibson is an RB2 in Week 7 as the team could be playing catch up and is a game script that favors top-pass catching RB J.D. McKissic more. Fantasy managers should check back on Sunday morning to ensure Gibson is officially active before inserting him into their starting lineups.

Oct 22nd · 04:48 PM
Antonio Gibson Questionable For Week 7

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (shin) is listed as questionable for Week 7 against the Green Bay Packers on the final injury report. Gibson missed Wednesday's practice but has gotten in work the last two days, making it likely that he suits up as Washington's primary running back this Sunday. However, it's understandable to be skeptical about his workload after he carried the ball a season-low 10 times for 44 yards in the Week 6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The 23-year-old should be considered more of an RB2 this weekend, with pass-catching back J.D. McKissic potentially seeing a healthy amount of touches to spell Gibson in a game where Washington could be forced to play catch-up. UPDATE: Gibson said he's confident he'll play Sunday against Green Bay.

Oct 21st · 04:24 PM
Antonio Gibson Resumes Practicing Thursday

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (shin) returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday. Gibson was on the sidelines without a helmet at the end of the Week 6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and underwent an MRI exam on Monday. It's unclear what's bothering him besides the hairline fracture in his shin that he's played through the last couple of games. The 23-year-old hadn't really been slowed until last week when he saw a season-low 10 carries for 44 yards. It looks like Gibson should be able to play in Week 7 against the Green Bay Packers, but he could cede more touches to backup J.D. McKissic and will be more of an RB2 in a game that could feature plenty of short dump-off passes to McKissic.

Oct 20th · 04:48 PM
Antonio Gibson Not Practicing Wednesday

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (calf) has his helmet off and is not practicing on Wednesday. Gibson was on the sidelines with his helmet off at the end of the Week 6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, and he underwent an MRI exam on Monday. The 23-year-old has played the last several weeks while dealing with a hairline fracture in his shin, but he could be dealing with a new issue entering Week 7 against the Green Bay Packers. As a result of his new leg injury, Gibson saw only 10 carries for 44 yards last Sunday. If he is limited or out this weekend, pass-catching back J.D. McKissic would have some real fantasy appeal in a game in which Washington could be forced to pass frequently. Rookie Jaret Patterson would also see a bigger role behind McKissic.

Oct 18th · 04:50 PM
Antonio Gibson Undergoes MRI Exam

Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera said that running back Antonio Gibson (leg) underwent an MRI exam on his lower leg on Monday. Gibson has been playing through a hairline fracture in his shin over the last several weeks, but he may have injured another part of his leg in the Week 6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The 23-year-old was on the sidelines late in the game with his helmet off. When we know more about the results of his MRI, we'll pass them along. While playing at less than 100 percent, Gibson disappointed with only 10 carries for 44 yards in the loss on Sunday. Pass-catching back J.D. McKissic would be a must-start if Gibson were to miss any time with his latest injury. Stay tuned for more details on the situation.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
