Corey Davis Placed On Injured Reserve

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (groin) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. The 26-year-old's move to the injured reserve was procedural as he was ruled out for the season earlier this week. Davis will undergo season-ending core muscle surgery and look to make a full recovery for 2022. Elijah Moore, Jamison Crowder, Keelan Cole Sr., and Denzel Mims will be Jets QB Zach Wilson's top wideouts while Davis is sidelined. Davis finishes the 2021 campaign with 34 receptions (59 targets) for 492 yards and four touchdowns over nine games in 2021.

Corey Davis Out For The Season

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (groin) will have season-ending core muscle surgery, according to head coach Robert Saleh. Davis' first season with the Jets was a disappointment, as he was able to play in just nine games, finishing with 34 receptions for 492 yards and four touchdowns. Rookie Elijah Moore has stepped up over the past few weeks and will continue to have weekly appeal for fantasy managers with Davis now sidelined for the remainder of the season. Jamison Crowder could have some upside for the remainder of the season as well, as the slot specialist saw six targets in Week 13. With Davis out, Denzel Mims could have an expanded role in the offense, but the Jets have been reluctant to give him any sort of role up to this point. Still, the only reliable Jets pass-catcher seems to be Moore moving forward.

Dec 5th · 08:57 PM
Ryan Griffin, Corey Davis Questionable To Return

New York Jets tight end Ryan Griffin (ankle) and wide receiver Corey Davis (groin) are questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Eagles. Davis has two catches for 15 yards and has seen his pre-injury role disappear, with Elijah Moore taking over as the lead receiver. Griffin has two catches for 15 yards and a score. Neither have a lot of fantasy value at the moment in redraft leagues, especially if these injuries impact their availability beyond this week.

Dec 5th · 04:43 PM
Corey Davis Active Against Eagles

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (groin) is active for Sunday's meeting against the Philadelphia Eagles. Davis missed Week 12, but returned to practice last this week and appears to be good to go. Elijah Moore's emergence is likely to impact Davis' upside though, and with a lot of uncertainty with this Jets offense, it's hard to consider Davis more than a low-end flex option against a solid Eagles secondary.

Dec 3rd · 06:57 PM
Corey Davis A Game-Time Decision For Sunday

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (groin) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Davis injured himself in Week 11 and didn't play in Week 12. He returned to practice on Friday after missing the other two practices of the week, though, and the Jets are more optimistic on him heading into this weekend than they were last week. Take that for what it's worth. The 26-year-old has been a nice safety blanket for rookie quarterback Zach Wilson this year, but the emergence of rookie wideout Elijah Moore and a pretty stout Philly secondary could be cause for concern if Davis returns this Sunday. Davis has four touchdowns, one 100-yard game and has gone over 50 yards just three times in eight games.

Dec 2nd · 06:37 PM
Corey Davis Not Practicing Again Thursday

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (groin) was absent from practice again on Thursday. Davis said on Wednesday that he's feeling better than he did last week, but that hasn't manifested itself yet on the practice field. With Davis missing last week's win over the Houston Texans, he's looking very questionable to play in Week 13 against the Philadelphia Eagles. If he returns, he should be rookie quarterback Zach Wilson's go-to target alongside impressive rookie Elijah Moore. But the longer Davis remains out of practice, the more likely it is that he'll miss his second straight contest. With Keelan Cole on the COVID-19 list, Moore, Jamison Crowder and Braxton Berrios would be the team's top three receivers if Davis misses another game.

Dec 1st · 11:08 PM
Corey Davis Feeling Better This Week

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (groin) said he's feeling better this week than he did last week, although he still didn't practice on Wednesday. Davis injured his groin in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins and didn't play last Sunday in the win over the Houston Texans. While the 26-year-old is off to a bad start by missing practice on Wednesday, he could still be in line to return this weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles if he can get back on the practice field on Thursday or Friday. Davis has had nice chemistry with rookie quarterback Zach Wilson this year and has been more or less his safety blanket as the team's No. 1 receiver when healthy, so he'll at least be in the WR3/flex mix if he's back on the field this weekend.

Dec 1st · 05:24 PM
Corey Davis Not Practicing Wednesday

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (groin) will not practice on Wednesday and is being listed as day-to-day. Davis injured his groin in practice early last week and was inactive in the Week 12 win over the Houston Texans. He's not off to a good start this week, but if he can return to the practice field on Thursday or Friday, he will have a shot at playing this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. The 26-year-old has shown nice chemistry with rookie quarterback Zach Wilson in 2021, so Davis would at least be a WR3/flex option if he he's active this weekend. Rookie Elijah Moore has emerged as a real threat in this offense as well, and he'll continue to be an option in starting lineups, even if Davis returns from his injury.

Nov 28th · 05:11 PM
Corey Davis Officially Out On Sunday

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (groin), who was downgraded to doubtful on Saturday, is officially inactive for Week 12 against the Houston Texans. It's a blow to the Jets offense with rookie quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) finally returning from his PCL sprain. Davis and Wilson had developed some nice chemistry earlier in the season. Rookie Elijah Moore, Jamison Crowder and Keelan Cole should operate in three-wide sets for Gang Green in Week 12 against a Texans defense that has surrendered 269.7 receiving yards per game this year. With Davis beat up of late, Moore has really stepped up and taken advantage, catching 18 of 25 targets for 269 yards and four touchdowns in the last three games. The rookie will have WR2 upside with Davis out.

Nov 28th · 12:52 AM
Corey Davis Downgraded To Doubtful

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (groin) was downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. He was limited in practice on Friday and initially listed as questionable for Week 12. The 26-year-old is trending in the wrong direction and could miss Sunday's game. Fantasy managers should check back an hour and a half before 1:00 PM et kickoff to check Davis availability. Elijah Moore, Jamison Crowder, and Keelan Cole Sr. would see an uptick in targets if Davis is out. Moore would see a significant boost and has been on absolute fire over his last three games, catching 18 passes for 284 yards and four touchdowns. The Jets rookie wideout is a borderline WR2 against the Texans in Week 12.

Nov 26th · 05:22 PM
Corey Davis Returns To Practice, Expected To Play Sunday

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (groin) will return to a limited practice on Friday and should be available to play on Sunday against the Houston Texans, according to head coach Robert Saleh. Davis tweaked his groin in practice on Wednesday and sat out of Thursday's session. Mid-week injuries are usually tough to come back from, but it looks like Davis will be able to play in Week 12. He'll likely draw a questionable tag on the final injury report, but unless he suffers a setback, fantasy managers should plan on having him available for their starting lineups this weekend. Davis remains the team's No. 1 wideout despite the emergence of rookie Elijah Moore, and he'll be on the WR3/flex radar with rookie quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) returning on Sunday in a solid matchup against Houston.

Nov 25th · 07:13 PM
Corey Davis DNP On Thursday

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (groin) did not practice on Thursday after tweaking his groin during Wednesday's session. Davis' availability for New York's Week 12 matchup against the Houston Texans is now in question after the mid-week downgrade. Fantasy gamers counting on Davis will want to monitor the Friday practice report to see if Davis can suit up as the team prepares to take on Houston. If Davis does not play, it would be a boost to the rest of the Jets' receivers, namely Elijah Moore and Jamison Crowder, in Week 12.

Nov 25th · 01:44 AM
Corey Davis Limited By Groin Injury

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (groin) suffered a groin injury in practice on Wednesday and was listed as limited. Davis' Thursday participation will tell us much more as far as his availability for the upcoming game against the Houston Texans this Sunday goes. Mid-week injuries are usually never a good thing, but the good news is that Davis still has two more days to recover and return to the practice field. When healthy, he remains the team's No. 1 receiver and will have rookie first-round quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) back in the fold this weekend. If Davis' injury is serious enough to sideline him, rising rookie Elijah Moore would immediately become more attractive as a WR3/flex against a Texans defense that has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points per game to WRs in the last three weeks. Jamison Crowder and Keelan Cole would be in line for more targets as well.

Nov 21st · 10:23 PM
Corey Davis Is Quiet In Week 11

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis is beginning to be a tough player to trust on a weekly basis. Last week, he hauled in five receptions for nearly 100 yards. A week later, Davis hauls in three of his seven targets for 35 yards in the Week 11 loss to the Miami Dolphins. On a positive note, Davis was tied for the team-high with seven targets, but he wasn't able to do much with his catches. The below average quarterbacks the Jets are tossing out there could be part of the reason for his lack of success. Nonetheless, Davis falls into WR4 territory for the Week 12 matchup against the Houston Texans.

Nov 20th · 04:23 PM
Corey Davis - Week 11 Outlook for Fantasy Football

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis returned last week and produced a five-catch game with 93 yards. He was sidelined the last two contests prior, but didn't miss a beat in his return. Now, Davis will get a favorable matchup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 11. A defense that ranks 22nd in pass DVOA this season. It's also worth noting that the Dolphins have allowed the third-most fantasy points to wideouts thus far. Davis has seen five targets or more in every game he has played in this season. It's uncertain how the change at quarterback will impact his volume. Nonetheless, Davis should be viewed as a WR3 for this plus matchup against Miami.

Nov 14th · 10:20 PM
Corey Davis Goes For Nearly 100 Yards

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (hip) was active and back in action for the first time since Week 7. Sadly, Davis was forced to deal with elite defensive back Tre'Davious White. Davis held his own and finished with five receptions on seven targets for 93 yards in the loss to the Buffalo Bills. There's not much more he can do with backup quarterback Mike White throwing the ball all over the place. This was a fairly decent outing for Davis, but hopefully it will get better once Zach Wilson (knee) returns. Davis will be on the WR3 radar for the Week 11 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Nov 12th · 05:06 PM
Corey Davis Cleared To Play In Week 10

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (hip) will play in Week 10 against Buffalo. Davis has missed the team's last two games while dealing with a hip injury, though head coach Robert Saleh said that the wideout is "looking good" to play Sunday, with Davis adding that he went "full throttle" at practice this week. He'll need to be at full strength for a tough matchup with the Bills, who possess the league's stingiest unit in terms of pass DVOA. Davis will also be catching passes from backup Mike White, which further clouds his outlook. He is more of a low-end WR3 this week, given the factors working against him.

Nov 12th · 01:50 AM
Corey Davis Remains Limited On Thursday

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (hip) logged his second consecutive limited practice on Thursday. The veteran has missed the last two games with a hip injury, but is expected to return for a Week 10 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Davis has been having a solid debut season with the Jets and has caught 24 balls for 349 yards and four touchdowns in six games. Rookie wide receiver Elijah Moore has stepped up in a productive way with Davis sidelined and veteran Jamison Crowder has also seen an uptick in targets. If Davis returns, both Crowder and Moore could see a decrease in targets.

Nov 11th · 12:25 AM
Corey Davis - Week 10 Outlook for Fantasy Football

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (hip) is expected to return for the Week 10 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. He has missed each of the last two games due to a hip issue. Davis should return to his No. 1 role this week with backup quarterback Mike White under center. This season, Davis has seen five or more targets in each game that he has played. Sadly for him, the Bills rank first in pass DVOA this season. It's uncertain what kind of chemistry Davis and White will have together. Fantasy managers should consider Davis a low-end WR3 for this week.

Nov 10th · 08:08 PM
Corey Davis Back At Practice On Wednesday

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (hip) was back at practice on Wednesday and reported that he was "full throttle." The self assessment implies that Davis feels relatively healthy and should be considered likely to play on Sunday against the Bills. It's not a particularly good matchup and rookie Elijah Moore has blossomed while Davis was on the sideline, so the veteran isn't a must-play this week. If possible, it would be best to see how a fully healthy Jets wide receiving corps splits snaps, and it's also important to keep in mind that quarterback Mike White had an aDOT under four against the Bengals, which means there might not be many deep targets for Davis to get much value. We'll have to see how it all plays out on Sunday.

Nov 8th · 08:59 PM
Tevin Coleman, Corey Davis To Return In Week 10

New York Jets running back Tevin Coleman (hamstring) and wide receiver Corey Davis (hip) are expected to return to action this week, according to head coach Robert Saleh. Coleman has been sidelined since the past three games while Davis has missed the past two, so the Jets offense is in for some reinforcements in a tough matchup against the Buffalo Bills in Week 10. Davis is the more attractive fantasy option because of his label as the No.1 wide receiver, but the matchup with Tre'Davious White is enough to leave him on the bench once again. Coleman is likely the No. 3 running back on the depth chart in his return, so he has limited fantasy value unless Michael Carter or Ty Johnson misses any time.

Nov 4th · 11:10 PM
Corey Davis, Tevin Coleman Out For Thursday Night Football

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (hip) and running back Tevin Coleman (hamstring) won't play in Thursday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. As expected, both Davis and Coleman were doubtful heading into Thursday's contest. Neither player got on the practice field on the short week and were ultimately ruled out. Davis will miss his second straight game, while Coleman will miss his third consecutive contest. Jamison Crowder will operate as Jets QB Mike White's top target after catching eight passes for 84 yards in a Week 8 over the Cincinnati Bengals. He is a solid flex play in most league formats. Rookie Elijah Moore and Keelan Cole should also see an uptick in targets. Jets RB Michael Carter broke out last Sunday, rushing for 77 yards and a touchdown while adding nine catches for 95 yards on 14 targets in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Bengals. Carter is a borderline RB1 against a Colts defense that is ranked 20th in rush DVOA. Davis and Coleman's next chance to return will be Week 10 against the Buffalo Bills.

Nov 3rd · 11:48 PM
Corey Davis Doubtful, Tevin Coleman Ruled Out For Thursday

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (hip) is listed as doubtful for the second straight week, while running back Tevin Coleman (hamstring) has been ruled out for his third straight game on Thursday night against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8. Neither player got on the practice field on the short week. Davis looks set to miss his second straight game. In his absence in the Week 8 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Jamison Crowder and running back Michael Carter were the team's top two pass-catchers for backup quarterback Mike White. Rookie Elijah Moore, Keelan Cole and Denzel Mims also saw expanded roles. Despite their surprising win last weekend, it's hard to recommend any of their pass-catchers for starting lineups, outside of maybe Crowder as a flex consideration in deeper leagues.

Nov 3rd · 12:02 AM
Corey Davis, Tevin Coleman Miss Practice Again Tuesday

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (hip) and running back Tevin Coleman (hamstring) both missed practice for the second straight day on Tuesday. Davis is feeling better after landing on the injury report in the middle of last week and missing the Week 8 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, but he could turn out to be a game-time decision on Thursday night against the Indianapolis Colts. Davis is the team's leading receiver this year with 24 catches on 42 targets for 349 yards and four touchdowns, but he's a very risky fantasy commodity in Week 9 on the short week with Mike White at quarterback for his second career start. Coleman has missed the last two games and doesn't seem likely to play again this week.

Nov 2nd · 12:31 AM
Corey Davis, Tevin Coleman Miss Practice Monday

New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (hip) and running back Tevin Coleman (hamstring) both were listed as not practicing on Monday. Davis was a late addition to the Week 8 injury report and didn't play on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, while Coleman missed his second straight game. The Jets are saying that Davis has a chance to play on the short week against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night, but he should be considered a shaky WR2 option if he plays with quarterback Mike White set to make his second career start. With Davis out in Week 8, running back Michael Carter and veteran slot man Jamison Crowder were the team's top two pass-catchers. Coleman, even when healthy, isn't fantasy relevant behind both Carter and Ty Johnson.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
