Darius Slayton Quiet In Week 13 Loss

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton caught two of seven targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 20-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins. He was second in the team in targets behind only Saquon Barkley (9) but could only reel in two of his seven targets. The 24-year-old had an expanded role in Week 13 with Kadarius Toney (quadriceps, oblique) and Sterling Shepard (quadriceps); both ruled out but failed to capitalize on his opportunity. Slayton has caught 21 passes for 280 yards and a touchdown over nine games in 2021. The Auburn product will look to bounce back and is a boom-or-bust flex against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 13.

Darius Slayton - Week 13 Outlook for Fantasy Football

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton will have an expanded role in Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins with rookie Kadarius Toney (oblique, quadriceps) and Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) doubtful to play. He caught three passes for 40 yards on four targets with both Giants receivers out in the Week 12 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. This season, the 24-year-old averages 12.9 air yards per target, which ranks 26th among all wide receivers. Miami's defense ranks 13th in DVOA against No. 2 receivers but have been on fire recently and have allowed 46 total points to opposing offenses over its last four contests. Slayton is a boom-or-bust flex option for Week 13.

Darius Slayton Catches Three Passes In Week 12 Win

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton caught three of four targets for 40 yards in Sunday's 13-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The 24-year-old only drew four targets despite the Giants being without wide receivers Kadarius Toney and Sterling Shepard. He finished second on the team with three catches, which were all first downs. Slayton is the Giants' main downfield threat but won't have much fantasy value when Toney and Shepard return to action. The Auburn product is a boom-or-bust flex in deep-league formats against the Miami Dolphins in Week 13.

Nov 27th · 01:37 AM
Darius Slayton - Week 12 Outlook for Fantasy Football

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton should have an expanded role on Sunday as the team will be without WR Sterling Shepard (quad) and most likely Kadarius Toney (quad) for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The 24-year-old has caught 16 passes for 227 yards and touchdown over seven games in 2021. Slayton is the Giants' top downfield threat and faces an Eagles that has been tough against WR2s and ranks sixth versus the opposing team's secondary targets. Even with the expanded role, the Giants offense has struggled most of the season, and Slayton is a boom-or-bust flex option in Week 12.

Nov 23rd · 01:45 PM
Darius Slayton Targeted Seven Times In Monday's Loss

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton caught 4-of-7 targets for 37 yards and lost a fumble in Monday's 30-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was second in the Giants in receiving yards and targets, with most of his production coming from a 21-yard reception. The 24-year-old is the Giants' main deep threat but continues to take a backseat in the offense behind rookie wideout Kadarius Toney. He has now hauled in 16-of-33 targets for 227 yards and a touchdown over seven games in 2021. Slayton is a boom-or-bust flex in deep-league formats against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12.

Nov 4th · 01:20 PM
Darius Slayton - Week 9 Outlook for Fantasy Football

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton failed to record a catch on both targets in Monday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He is the main Giants downfield threat and averages an impressive 14.6 air yards per target, ranked 12th overall among wide receivers. The 24-year-old logged 52 of the team's 60 offensive snaps in Week 9. Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) and Kenny Golladay (knee) are not expected to play against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders have been stingy against wide receivers and allow the fourth-fewest points (16.9) against the position. Slayton should see a high snap count and is a boom-or-bust flex in Week 9.

Oct 30th · 12:27 PM
Darius Slayton - Week 8 Outlook for Fantasy Football

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton returned in Week 7 after missing the previous three weeks with a hamstring injury. He recorded five receptions on nine targets for 63 yards in last Sunday's win over the Carolina Panthers. The Giants are expected to be without top WR Kenny Golladay, but Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Kadarius Toney (ankle) could return for Monday's contest against the Kansas City Chiefs. Slayton serves as the Giants' primary downfield threat and averages 14.6 air yards per target over four games this season. The Chiefs defense rank 27th in DVOA against WR1s, and if Shepard returns, rank 24th in DVOA against WR2s. Slayton is a boom-or-bust flex option in Week 8 despite the favorable matchup.

Darius Slayton Catches Five Passes In Return

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton caught 5-of-9 targets for 63 yards in Sunday's 25-3 win over the Carolina Panthers. He returned to action on Sunday after missing the last three weeks due to a hamstring injury. Kadarius Toney (ankle), Kenny Golladay (knee), and Sterling Shepard were ruled out ahead of Sunday's game. The 24-year-old was QB Daniel Jones' top option and led the Giants in targets (9) and receiving yards (63). Slayton's role in the Giants offense will depend on the availability of Toney, Golladay, and Shepard for Monday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Oct 24th · 04:00 PM
Evan Engram, Darius Slayton Active In Week 7

New York Giants tight end Evan Engram (calf) and wide receivers Darius Slayton (hamstring) and John Ross (hamstring), who were all listed as questionable, are active in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers. Engram and Slayton could have very big roles in the passing game with receivers Kenny Golladay (knee), Kadarius Toney (ankle) and Sterling Shepard (hamstring) all out on Sunday. Slayton is returning after a three-week absence, though, so he'll still be hard to trust in fantasy, even as a deep-league flex play. Dante Pettis saw a much bigger workload last week with Golladay and Toney out, and Collin Johnson and Ross should also be involved as well. Engram will be a low-end TE1 play with upside with so many of New York's offensive weapons on the shelf.

Oct 24th · 12:52 PM
Evan Engram, Darius Slayton Expected To Play

New York Giants tight end Evan Engram (calf) and wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) are likely to play Sunday against the Panthers. ESPN's Adam Schefter notes that the two should be good to go unless they suffer a setback in pre-game warmups. Engram and Slayton have had limited roles so far- but could be pivotal players against Carolina with the Giants already down Saquon Barkley (ankle), Kenny Golladay (knee), and Kadarius Toney (ankle). The Panthers have a stingy pass defense, ranking seventh in pass DVOA, though Engram and Slayton could see enough volume to make an impact this week.

Oct 22nd · 05:57 PM
Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton Questionable

New York Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard (hamstring), Darius Slayton (hamstring) and John Ross (hamstring) are all listed as questionable for Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers. Shepard returned from a two-game absence in Week 6 to catch 10 of 14 targets for 76 yards, but he aggravated his hamstring in practice on Thursday and is now up in the air. If he is able to play against Carolina, he'll have WR2 upside with both Kenny Golladay (knee) and rookie Kadarius Toney (ankle) ruled out. Slayton hasn't played since Week 3 and has only seven receptions for 127 yards and a score in his three games. The only healthy Giants receivers are Dante Pettis and Collin Johnson, so they could see expanded roles against the Panthers this weekend.

Oct 20th · 03:30 PM
Darius Slayton Will Practice Wednesday

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) will return to practice on Wednesday after missing the last three weeks with a hamstring injury. The Giants are hoping that Slayton can return to the fold with both Kenny Golladay (knee) and rookie Kadarius Toney (ankle) looking likely to miss the Week 7 clash against the Carolina Panthers. If Slayton returns this weekend, he could be the second wideout behind Sterling Shepard against a Panthers defense that has allowed 558 receiving yards, four touchdowns and the 12th-most fantasy points per game to receivers in the last three weeks. Slayton could have a larger role if he's active, but it will be hard to trust anyone other than Shepard in this passing attack if Golladay and Toney are ultimately ruled out.

Oct 17th · 03:59 PM
Kadarius Toney In, Darius Slayton Out Against Rams

New York Giants rookie wide receiver Kadarius Toney (ankle) is active for the Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Rams, but receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) will miss his third straight game. Toney, a first-round pick this spring, blew up for 10 catches on 13 targets for 189 yards with running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) and wideout Kenny Golladay (knee) getting injured last week against the Dallas Cowboys. He should remain heavily involved in an extremely difficult matchup against the Rams with Barkley and Golladay out on Sunday. Volume alone should make the impressive rookie worth considering as a WR3/flex with quarterback Daniel Jones (concussion) playing. Sterling Shepard (hamstring) is back after missing the last two games, but he could be followed by shutdown cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Oct 15th · 11:04 PM
Darius Slayton Questionable Against Rams

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) is listed as questionable for a Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Rams. Slayton appears headed for a game-time decision and could miss his third straight game. With Kenny Golladay (knee) ruled out, Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Kadarius Toney (ankle) figure to serve as New York's top two pass-catchers. Even if Slayton makes his return on Sunday, he'd be serving as the No. 3 receiver, at best, against a very stingy Rams secondary. The 24-year-old was able to muster just seven catches on 14 targets for 127 yards and a touchdown in the first three games of the season before getting injured. If Slayton misses another game, Collin Johnson and John Ross will fight for snaps as the third wideout.

Oct 13th · 04:41 PM
Darius Slayton Returns To Practice

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) returned to practice on Wednesday, and ESPN New York's Jordan Raanan expects both Slayton and Sterling Shepard (hamstring) to return in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams after they both missed the last two weeks. In two full games this year, Slayton has six catches on 13 targets for 119 yards and a touchdown. Kenny Golladay (knee) isn't expected to play this weekend, but rookie Kadarius Toney has seen his role increase dramatically the last two weeks with both Shepard and Slayton sidelined. It's unknown if quarterback Daniel Jones (concussion) can play this weekend, so Slayton's value and role are shaky, at best, heading into a tough matchup against the Rams.

Oct 10th · 05:32 PM
Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard Trending Toward Week 6 Return

While New York Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) remain out in Week 5 against the Cowboys, both went through pregame workouts and appear to be on track to return next week against the Rams. Kadarius Toney will see a larger role in this week's game, but the return of Shepard and Slayton means that even if Toney is impressive against Dallas, his fantasy appeal will be limited going forward.

Oct 8th · 07:06 PM
Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard Ruled Out For Week 5

New York Giants wide receivers Darius Slayton (hamstring) and Sterling Shepard (hamstring) have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Slayton and Shepard were unable to practice this week and will miss their second straight game. The next chance for Shepard and Slayton to return will be Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams. Kadarius Toney and John Ross should see an uptick in targets while both Giants WRs are sidelined. Toney had his best game of the season in Week 5; he caught 6-of-9 targets for 78 yards in Sunday's 27-21 win over the New Orleans Saints. The 22-year-old is considered boom-or-bust flex against the Cowboys.

Oct 7th · 09:29 PM
Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton Remain Out

New York Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) remained out of practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday. Both players missed the Week 4 win over the New Orleans Saints last week. Shepard appears to be further along in his recovery than Slayton, and both players will need at least a limited practice session on Friday to avoid missing their second straight game in Week 5 against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys. With Shepard and Slayton out last week, rookie Kadarius Toney saw a team-high nine targets and caught six of them for 78 yards. Kenny Golladay had over 100 yards receiving, and John Ross scored a 50-plus-yard touchdown through the air. If Shepard and Slayton miss another game, Golladay will be the safest fantasy option as a WR3/flex against an improved Cowboys defense.

Oct 6th · 10:53 PM
Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton Still Missing From Practice

New York Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) missed another practice on Wednesday. Both players missed the Week 4 win over the New Orleans Saints and aren't off to a good start heading into Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys. With both players out last Sunday, Kenny Golladay and rookie Kadarius Toney served as the top-two wideouts and had good games, while former Cincinnati Bengal John Ross had a 51-yard touchdown hookup with quarterback Daniel Jones. Shepard remains second on the team in targets with 22, and he has 18 receptions for 223 yards and a touchdown in three games, so he should return to a big role in the passing game when he's healthy, but it'll be interesting to how the Giants handle Toney and Ross once Shepard and Slayton return.

Oct 3rd · 04:04 PM
Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton Travel With Team

New York Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) both are out for Week 4 against the Giants, but the duo traveled with the team to New Orleans and were on the field in pregame. ESPN's Jordan Raanan called it a "fairly promising sign." Both receivers could be back in Week 5, but Collin Johnson and Kadarius Toney will have expanded roles this week. Johnson is an intriguing deep sleeper in DFS contests, while starting wideout Kenny Golladay is a must-play in season-long because of his projected role.

Oct 1st · 06:48 PM
Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton Officially Out For Week 4

The New York Giants have officially ruled out wide receivers Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) for a Week 4 date with the New Orleans Saints on the road. It's a tough blow for a Giants team, as Shepard currently leads the Giants receiving corps with 18 receptions on 22 targets for 223 yards and a touchdown through the first three games of the season. Slayton is third behind Shepard and Kenny Golladay with seven catches for 127 yards and a score. Rookie Kadarius Toney and Collin Johnson will be asked to pick up the slack alongside Golladay on Sunday. The Saints have one of the better secondaries in the league, so this won't be easy for the Giants as they look to get their first win of the season. Golladay is your best fantasy option, but he's off to a disappointing start in New York and will merely be a WR3/4.

Oct 1st · 04:39 PM
Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton Not Expected To Play

New York Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) weren't spotted at practice on Friday, and it's safe to assume that they'll be out for Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints, according to The Athletic's Dan Duggan. Neither player was able to practice all week, so fantasy managers should have them benched this weekend. With both Shepard and Slayton likely out, rookie Kadarius Toney should see his largest snap share of his early career and could make some noise out of the slot. Collin Johnson, who saw a team-high seven targets last week, should also be involved as the third wideout behind Golladay and Toney. Golladay, who has been a disappointment to fantasy managers thus far, should be quarterback Daniel Jones' top target in a difficult matchup on the road.

Sep 30th · 05:25 PM
Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton Out Again Thursday

New York Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) both remained out of practice on Thursday for the second straight day. Both receivers were injured in the Week 3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons and look questionable for Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints. Shepard has been New York's most trustworthy fantasy receiver through the first three weeks of the season, but fantasy managers should have a backup plan in place in case he cannot suit up on Sunday. If one or both of Shepard and Slayton are inactive this weekend, Kenny Golladay should have a higher floor in a tough matchup with the Saints on the road. Rookie Kadarius Toney should also see much more playing time out of the slot.

Sep 29th · 11:23 PM
Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton Don't Practice Wednesday

New York Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) both missed practice on Wednesday. Shepard and Slayton were both injured in the first half of the Week 3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons and did not return to the game. Shepard had 16 catches for 207 yards and a touchdown in the first two weeks of the season and would be a solid WR3/flex option for fantasy managers if he were able to return in Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints on the road. If Shepard and/or Slayton aren't able to play this Sunday, rookie Kadarius Toney could start in the slot. Collin Johnson, who had five catches on seven targets for 51 yards last week, could also be worth a look as a deep DFS sleeper.

Sep 26th · 06:06 PM
Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton Ruled Out

New York Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) have been ruled out for the remainder of the team's Week 3 contest against the Atlanta Falcons. Shepard had two catches for 16 yards while Slayton had one for eight yards. While Kenny Golladay will continue to serve as the team's lead receiver, we'll likely see more from rookie Kadarius Toney, as well as C.J. Board and Collin Johnson. If either of these is a lingering issue, Toney would become an intriguing deep sleeper next week.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
