Darren Waller Leads Raiders With 76 Receiving Yards In Loss

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller caught seven of 12 targets for 76 yards in Saturday's AFC Wild-Card game loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. He led the Raiders in receiving and topped 75 yards for the first time since Week 11. It was also the first time since Week 9 the Raiders star tight end reached double digits in targets, but he only played in two games after Week 12. The 29-year-old is a strong bounce-back candidate in 2022 after catching 55 passes for 665 yards and two touchdowns over 11 games in 2021. Waller is under contract with the Raiders for two more seasons and enters 2022 fantasy drafts as a top-five tight end.

Darren Waller - Wild Card Round Outlook for Fantasy Football

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (knee) was limited in practice all week and doesn't carry an injury designation into Saturday's wild-card contest against the Cincinnati Bengals. Waller returned in Week 18 for the first time since Week 12 and played 78% of the offensive snaps while hauling in two of his nine targets for 22 yards. In the first meeting against Cincinnati in Week 11, Waller had seven catches on eight targets for a season-high 116 yards. The 29-year-old should see enough targets to do plenty of damage against a Bengals defense that ha surrendered the second-most fantasy points per game to TEs in the last three weeks. He comes in as the fourth-highest-priced TE at DraftKings with a salary of $5,700, but Waller might be avoided by many after he underwhelmed in his return last week.

Darren Waller Remains Limited Wednesday

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's walkthrough practice. After missing the previous five games with a knee injury, the Raiders' tight end returned to action in Week 18. He caught two of nine targets for 22 yards in last Sunday's overtime win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The 29-year-old is expected to have his practice reps capped as the Raiders will manage his injury ahead of the AFC Wild Card game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Waller is the fourth most expensive tight end on FanDuel with a $6,300 price tag, which is incredible value against a Bengals defense thank ranks 32nd against tight ends in 2021.

Jan 12th · 12:43 AM
Darren Waller Limited To Open The Practice Week

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (knee) was listed as a limited practice participant on Tuesday. Waller played in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Los Angeles Chargers for the first time since injuring his knee on Thanksgiving, so the Raiders will continue to manage his injury ahead of the wild-card playoff matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday. In his return in the thrilling overtime win on Sunday night, Waller underwhelmed with just two catches (nine targets) for 22 yards. However, he played 78% of the offensive snaps after his long layoff, and the nine targets were a good sign. Unless the 29-year-old suffers a setback, he'll play against Cincy. With the fourth-highest DFS salary at his position on DraftKings ($5,700) for wild-card weekend, Waller remains a bit of a boom-or-bust.

Jan 9th · 07:13 PM
Josh Jacobs, Darren Waller Will Play Against Chargers

Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs (ribs) and tight end Darren Waller (knee) will both play on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Chargers in the Week 18 regular season finale. Both Jacobs and Waller were listed as questionable on the final injury report, but they will both play in the must-win game against the division rivals. Jacobs was never really in much danger of missing this game while being limited in practice all week, and he will continue an RB1 option in fantasy as Vegas' featured back against one of the worst run defenses in the NFL this year in the Bolts. Getting Waller back is huge for the Raiders offense, although he's a risky play in DFS and season-long lineups because of the fact that he hasn't played since Thanksgiving. There's a possibility that Waller will have his snaps limited.

Jan 9th · 05:24 PM
Darren Waller Expected To Play Sunday Night

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (knee) is expected to play on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to a source. Waller hasn't played since Thanksgiving and was expected to be a game-time decision for this must-win contest against their division rivals to close out the final week of the regular season. The 29-year-old is unlikely to be 100%, which makes him a tricky fantasy play in single-year formats with a championship on the line. Don't be surprised if Waller has his snaps scaled back in his return, and he could be a decoy to open things up for the rest of the offense when he's on the field. Because of the chance that Waller doesn't play his normal allotment of snaps, he'll be too risky for most DFS gamers. Foster Moreau has been a touchdown-dependent TE2 in Waller's absence, but he should be avoided with Waller returning.

Jan 7th · 11:09 PM
Darren Waller Questionable For Week 18

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (knee) is listed as questionable to play on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Chargers in the Week 18 regular season finale. Waller was limited in practice all week, but he was set back by COVID-19 last week and hasn't played since Thanksgiving. In a must-win game for the Raiders, they will do everything they can to get Waller back on the field, but even if he's active, he could have his snaps limited as he works his way back into game shape. The 29-year-old is typically a must-start, high-end TE1 when fully healthy, but the long layoff will make him more of a low-end TE1 with snap-count concerns if he's active Sunday night. Foster Moreau has been a touchdown-dependent TE2 with Waller out.

Jan 5th · 08:39 PM
Darren Waller Returns To Practice On Wednesday

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. It's a big step in the right direction for the star, and the team has said that Thursday will be a big day for him. If Waller responds well to Wednesday's work, then they can begin to ramp up his participation in hopes of getting him back onto the field on Sunday night in a must-win game against the Los Angeles Chargers. You can expect Waller to play in this one, even if he is not 100%. However, fantasy managers should keep a close eye on practice reports, because it's possible that the Raiders would choose to just use Waller in certain packages rather than give him his full workload if he is not fully healthy. Since he is off the DFS main slate, he is really only an option in season-long leagues and might be a little too risky for those with a championship still on the line.

Raiders Expecting Darren Waller To Return This Week

There is a real sense of expectation for the return of Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night. Waller has been out since getting injured on Thanksgiving, and he was also put on the COVID-19 list last week. But it sounds as though he's expected to clear the COVID protocols and play in a must-win game for the Raiders. Given that Waller has been out since Week 12, it won't be realistic to expect him to play a normal number of offensive snaps, making him a risky fantasy tight end in the regular season finale. Foster Moreau has had a few decent games with Waller out, but he had a dud in the Week 17 win over the Indianapolis Colts, catching his only target for nine yards.

Dec 29th · 08:40 PM
Darren Waller Placed On COVID-19 List

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) was working his way back from an IT band issue and was hoping to play this week, but being placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday all but rules out a potential return this weekend. That will make Foster Moreau a TE2 again and keep receiver Hunter Renfrow on the WR2 radar against a beatable Indianapolis Colts secondary. With Las Vegas potentially eliminated from the playoffs after this week, this might be the last we've seen of Waller in 2021.

Dec 28th · 12:11 AM
Raiders Hoping Darren Waller Can Practice Wednesday

Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach Rich Bisaccia said he's hoping that tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) will be able to get on the practice field on Wednesday, but it's still a touch-and-go situation. Waller has been out since getting injured on Thanksgiving, and he's not a lock to return in Week 17 against the Indianapolis Colts. When healthy, Waller has been an elite fantasy tight end, but it's fair to wonder if his snaps would be limited whenever he returns after a long layoff. Backup Foster Moreau has 11 catches for 132 yards on 13 targets in the last two games against the Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos and has become a high-end TE2 with Waller still sidelined. The matchup against Indy will be a good one for either Waller or Moreau, as they've allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to the position in 2021.

Dec 26th · 08:25 PM
Darren Waller Officially Inactive Against Broncos

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) is officially inactive in Week 16 against the Denver Broncos. Waller hasn't practiced or played since getting injured on Thanksgiving Day and was doubtful coming into this one, so fantasy managers should've already had Waller firmly planted on their benches. Backup Foster Moreau had his best game of the season in the Week 15 win over the Cleveland Browns when he caught seven of nine targets for 65 yards. The matchup against Denver won't be as friendly on Sunday, but Moreau still could see a healthy amount of targets with receiver Bryan Edwards going on the COVID-19 list Sunday morning. Moreau is in the streaming picture as a high-end TE2 with Waller missing another game.

Dec 24th · 08:58 PM
Darren Waller Doubtful To Face The Broncos

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) is doubtful to play in Week 16 against the division-rival Denver Broncos. Waller was injured in the Thanksgiving game against the Dallas Cowboys and hasn't played since. At this rate, he may not make it back for the final two regular season games. Foster Moreau, who had his best game of the season in the Week 15 win over the Cleveland Browns -- seven catches for 65 yards on nine targets -- will once again be the primary pass-catching tight end with Waller injured. However, the Broncos defense hasn't allowed a ton of production to the TE position this year, making Moreau a touchdown-dependent TE2 in fantasy leagues. Waller should remain stashed for the chance that he returns in Week 17.

Dec 23rd · 10:25 PM
Darren Waller Misses Another Practice, Unlikely To Play

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) missed another practice on Thursday and seems unlikely to play in Week 16 against the Denver Broncos. Since his stellar Week 1 performance, Waller's season has gone downhill. The 29-year-old seems to be declining and has struggled with injuries, so fantasy managers may want to consider selling low in dynasty leagues. However, although this season has been frustrating, it's important to remember that when Waller has been on the field, he was still among the best fantasy tight ends. Still, if a manager is rebuilding in dynasty formats, they may want to consider selling Waller. If he misses yet another game this weekend, Foster Moreau will have a big role once again, but he'll be a touchdown-dependent TE2 in a tough matchup with the Broncos defense.

Dec 23rd · 04:44 AM
Darren Waller Remains Out Of Practice

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) remained out of practice on Wednesday. Waller hasn't practiced or played since Thanksgiving, so his fantasy managers must continue to have a backup plan in place in case he can't play this Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Whenever Waller gets back on the field, he'll immediately re-enter the TE1 picture, though. Foster Moreau (abdomen, thigh), who was limited in practice Wednesday, will continue to have a bigger workload as the pass-catching TE until Waller returns. He had a season-high seven catches on nine targets for 65 yards in Monday's win over the Cleveland Browns. However, the Broncos defense hasn't been too kind to the position this year. Moreau will be a touchdown-dependent TE2 if he gets another start.

Dec 20th · 08:54 PM
Darren Waller Officially Ruled Out Against Browns

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) is officially ruled out against the Cleveland Browns in Week 15. There was potentially some hope for the stud tight end to return after the game was pushed back two days, but he will miss his third consecutive game. Foster Moreau will get the start once again, posting nine targets which turned into four catches for 47 yards in the past two games that Waller has been held out. The 24-year-old started against the Eagles earlier in the year, catching all six of his targets for 60 yards and a touchdown. Moreau's talent and potential volume are enough to put him in the TE1 discussion in a nice matchup.

Dec 16th · 07:22 PM
Darren Waller Out Again In Week 15

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) missed practice all week and will be out once again for this Saturday's game against the Cleveland Browns. Waller hasn't practiced or played since he initially injured his knee in the Thanksgiving game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12, so it's not a huge surprise that he's out again after not practicing all week. Backup Foster Moreau had a touchdown back in Week 7 when Waller was out, but he's had a combined four catches on nine targets for just 47 scoreless yards the last two weeks with Waller on the shelf. Moreau will continue to see an expanded role this weekend against Cleveland, but he should still be considered a touchdown-dependent TE2 streamer. One thing to note: The Browns have allowed the most fantasy points per game to TEs in the last three weeks.

Dec 15th · 11:26 PM
Darren Waller Slapped With Another DNP

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) missed his second straight day of practice this week on Wednesday. Waller has yet to practice or play since he suffered a knee injury on Thanksgiving against the Dallas Cowboys, and he doesn't look ready to return on Saturday against the Cleveland Browns in Week 15. Fantasy managers should be preparing to be without him yet again this weekend. Foster Moreau (abdomen), who has been limited in two practices this week, should be able to play on Saturday and would once again serve as the team's top pass-catching tight end if Waller continues to sit out. Moreau hasn't really made much noise the last two weeks with Waller out, but he'll be in play as a TE2 streamer regardless.

Dec 15th · 12:40 AM
Darren Waller Still Not Practicing

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) remained sidelined at practice on Tuesday. Waller hasn't practiced or played since suffering a knee strain on Thanksgiving Day, and he's questionable to return for a Saturday game in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns. It would be nice if fantasy managers can get the 29-year-old tight end back for the first round of the fantasy playoffs in most leagues, but don't bank on it since he hasn't played since Week 12. With Foster Moreau (abdomen) also banged up, Daniel Helm could see much more playing time this weekend against Cleveland if Waller and Moreau cannot play. Moreau caught three of six targets for 13 yards in the blowout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in his second straight start. He's merely a TE2 prayer if Waller misses anymore time.

Dec 10th · 08:52 PM
Darren Waller Ruled Out For Week 14

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (knee, back) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He could not practice this week and was ultimately ruled out for Week 14. The 29-year-old will miss his second consecutive contest and remains day-to-day. His next chance to return will be Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns. Foster Moreau will be the Raiders' primary tight end while Waller is sidelined. While filling in for Waller, Moreau caught one pass for 34 yards in the Week 13 loss to the Washington Football team. The 24-year-old can be used as a streamer in Week 14 against a Chiefs defense that ranks 21st in DVOA against tight ends this season.

Dec 9th · 08:14 PM
Darren Waller Still Out Thursday

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (back, knee) is still missing from practice on Thursday. The Raiders upgraded Waller from week-to-week to day-to-day to begin this week, but he has yet to get on the practice field and is looking very iffy to return in Week 14 against the Kansas City Chiefs after sitting out last Sunday. Fantasy managers need to have a backup plan in place in case the 29-year-old misses his second straight game. The Raiders offense struggled without Waller last week, and backup tight end Foster Moreau had just one catch for 34 yards. Waller is a must-start, high-end TE1 anytime he's on the field, while Moreau could have a higher ceiling as a TE2 this week if Waller sits and the Raiders are playing from behind all game.

Dec 8th · 11:28 PM
Darren Waller Not Seen At Practice Wednesday

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (knee) was not spotted at Wednesday's practice. The Raiders listed Waller as day-to-day on Monday instead of week-to-week like he was at the start of last week, but he's still not back at practice. But the 29-year-old still has a couple of days to get back on the practice field, which would put him in line to return in Week 14 against the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs after he sat out of Week 13 action. The Raiders offense predictably struggled without Waller in there last Sunday, and backup Foster Moreau only had two catches for 37 yards despite the increase in playing time. If Waller returns to practice later this week and is active on Sunday, he should be returned to all starting fantasy lineups.

Dec 7th · 12:35 AM
Darren Waller Listed As Day-To-Day

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (knee, oblique) is listed as day-to-day instead of week-to-week, according to interim head coach Rich Bisaccia. Waller entered last Monday listed as week-to-week and missed the Week 13 loss to the Washington Football Team. The Raiders offense struggled mightily without Waller, and backup tight end Foster Moreau wasn't able to capitalize on the increased playing time with only one catch for 34 yards while playing 85% of the offensive snaps. Waller has a shot to return in Week 14 in a big divisional game against the Kansas City Chiefs on the road, and he'll be a high-end TE1 if he's back. The 29-year-old had only four catches for a season-low 24 yards in the first meeting with KC.

Dec 3rd · 07:32 PM
Darren Waller Won't Suit Up This Week

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (knee) missed his third straight practice on Friday and will not play in Week 13 against the Washington Football Team. Waller was listed as week-to-week earlier this week, so fantasy managers should've already been preparing for a potential absence this weekend after the 29-year-old suffered a knee injury in last week's Thanksgiving win over the Dallas Cowboys. With an extra week of rest, hopefully fantasy managers will have the high-end TE1 back in time for Week 14, the final week before the fantasy playoffs in most leagues. In Waller's absence, Foster Moreau becomes an attractive TE streamer, especially if receiver DeSean Jackson (calf) can't play or is limited. Moreau caught all six of his targets for 60 yards and a touchdown in the only other game that Waller has missed this season.

Dec 2nd · 08:05 PM
No Sign Of Darren Waller Thursday

There was no sign of Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (knee) at practice on Thursday. Waller has missed the team's first two practices of the week and was described as week-to-week by interim head coach Rich Bisaccia earlier this week, so Waller's fantasy managers should already be planning to be without him in Week 13. His backup, Foster Moreau, was an every-down player when Waller missed a game earlier this year and caught six passes for 60 yards and a touchdown in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles, so Moreau will be in consideration as a tight end streamer this Sunday against the Washington Football Team if Waller is indeed inactive.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
