James Robinson Given A Questionable Designation

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel, knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Los Angeles Rams. It would be a pretty big surprise if Robinson weren't active for the Week 13 contest this Sunday, as he's played the last three games with heel and knee issues. In the last three games, Robinson has at least 12 carries and has scored twice on the ground, averaging 4.20 yards per carry on 41 rushing attempts. He's also caught nine passes for 65 yards on 12 targets. The Rams defense isn't as scary of a matchup as they were last season, and Robinson's involvement in the passing game should give him a safe floor as an RB2, even if the Jaguars have negative game script all day long and fall behind on the scoreboard early.

James Robinson Misses Practice Thursday

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel, knee) did not practice on Thursday after he was limited on Wednesday. It's unclear yet if the Jaguars were just resting Robinson on Thursday or if he actually had a setback with heel and knee injuries that he's been managing in recent weeks. Regardless, fantasy managers should be on the lookout for an update on his status, but if he misses another practice on Friday, it will likely be Carlos Hyde time on Sunday in the Week 13 meeting with the Los Angeles Rams. If Robinson is active, he'll be on the RB1/2 borderline against Los Angeles, a defense that has allowed just over 100 yards rushing per game to their opponents. Hyde had a season-high 21 carries in Week 9 when Robinson sat out, but he gained just 3.19 yards per carry and has a low fantasy ceiling even with a starter's workload.

James Robinson Limited In Wednesday's Practice

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel, knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. He continues to deal with heel/knee injuries but hasn't missed a game since Week 9. It doesn't appear his injuries will keep him out for Sunday's contest against the Los Angeles Rams. The 23-year-old looked 100 percent healthy in the Week 12 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He rushed for 86 yards on 17 attempts while adding three catches for 29 yards. Robinson is a borderline RB1 in a tough matchup against a Rams defense that is 12th in DVOA against the run.

James Robinson Racks Up 115 Total Yards In A Losing Effort

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson rushed 17 times for 86 yards while adding three catches for 29 yards in the team's 21-14 Week 12 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The good news is that Robinson looked 100 percent healthy while returning to his ultra-efficient ways, but the bad news is that he didn't have many red zone looks with Jacksonville once again struggling to move the ball for much of the contest. Robinson is certainly capable of combining at least 20 touches with top-notch efficiency week in and week out, but he's a high-end RB2 rather than an elite RB1 due to suppressed touchdown equity in one of the league's worst offenses.

No Injury Designation For James Robinson

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel, knee) was able to practice in full on Friday and was removed from the final Week 12 injury report against the Atlanta Falcons. Robinson missed the Week 9 game, but he's played the last two weeks and looks to be moving past his heel injury. The 23-year-old is the clear leader of this backfield, when healthy, ahead of veteran Carlos Hyde. Robinson has seen double-digit carries in all but two games played this season and has found the end zone on the ground in all but three games in 2021. He rushed for only 29 yards on 12 attempts last week, but he should have more room to run this Sunday against a Falcons defense that has allowed 123.3 rushing yards per game this year. Robinson is a low-end RB1/high-end RB2 this weekend.

Nov 25th · 01:36 AM
James Robinson Limited In Practice Wednesday

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel, knee) was a limited practice participant to begin the week on Wednesday. Barring a setback, Robinson should continue to lead this backfield in a Week 12 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. He has exactly 12 carries each of the last two weeks and has scored twice on the ground, but he's averaging only 3.58 yards per carry. Robinson saved his fantasy day last week by finding the end zone, as he had only 29 rushing yards and nine receiving yards. The Jaguars offense should have an easier time moving the ball against the Falcons in Week 12, though, as the Falcons have allowed 123.3 rushing yards per game. Robinson will be a high-end RB2 in a better draw this weekend.

James Robinson Finds The End Zone In Week 11

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson salvaged an otherwise rough Week 11 performance by finding the end zone late in the game. Overall, Robinson managed 12 carries for 29 yards and a score on the ground while catching two passes for nine yards through the air. The star running back came into the game nursing minor heel and knee injuries and the negative script worked against him, so it wasn't entirely surprising to see him disappoint. While the overall offensive environment around him is far from ideal, the former undrafted free agent sensation has still found plenty of success this season when healthy, so his outlook largely hinges on his ability to get back to 100 percent. For now, Robinson remains a rock-solid RB2 with RB1 upside if he can get back to full health.

James Robinson Will Play In Week 11

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel, knee) is officially active against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11. Robinson was questionable on the final injury report but was expected to play leading up to Sunday's action. The 23-year-old sat out in Week 9 due to his knee injury, but he returned last Sunday to carry the ball 12 times for 57 yards and a touchdown while also catching four of his five targets for an additional 27 yards. He will continue to serve as Jacksonville's primary rushing option, which gives him RB2 appeal for fantasy managers. The Niners defense looked really strong last week in their win over the Los Angeles Rams, but they've also allowed 122.8 rushing yards per game this season.

Nov 21st · 01:03 PM
James Robinson Expected To Play In Week 11

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (ankle, heel) is expected to play on Sunday despite being listed as questionable, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter. Robinson did not practice on Wednesday before logging limited sessions on Thursday and Friday. The 23-year-old has totaled 699 scrimmage yards and eight touchdowns this season. Fantasy managers can deploy him as a low-end RB1 against the 49ers this week.

Nov 19th · 08:06 PM
James Robinson Listed As Questionable For Week 11

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel, knee) is listed as questionable for Week 11 against the San Francisco 49ers. Robinson is dealing with a new heel injury this week, but he was able to practice on a limited basis the last two days and should be expected to play this weekend. He was back to double-digit carries after missing Week 9 and should be in line for a normal workload as Jacksonville's primary back this Sunday if he's active. The 49ers totally shut down the powerful Los Angeles Rams offense in Week 10, but they are still allowing 122.8 rushing yards per game and have been around middle of the pack in terms of fantasy points allowed per game to RBs. Robinson should be a high-end RB2 for fantasy managers this week.

Nov 18th · 05:38 PM
James Robinson Returns To Practice

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel, knee) was back at practice on Thursday, as expected, in a limited fashion after sitting out on Wednesday. Robinson picked up a new heel injury in the Week 10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, but it's not believed to be a serious injury. Barring any sort of setback, Robinson should be able to play in Week 11 against the San Francisco 49ers. After missing Week 9, Robinson returned to 12 carries for 57 yards and a touchdown while snagging four of five targets for 27 more yards last Sunday. He'll be facing a San Francisco 49ers defense this weekend that shut down the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night, but they've allowed 122.8 rushing yards per game in 2021. As long as he's active, Robinson will be a high-end RB2/low-end RB1 for fantasy managers.

Nov 17th · 08:34 PM
James Robinson Doesn't Practice On Wednesday With New Injury

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (knee, heel) missed practice on Wednesday while nursing heel and knee injuries. Jackson had recently missed game action with a heel injury, but the knee injury is a new one. With Robinson admitting that the injury impacted his play, it's possible that the Jaguars choose to rest him or significantly dial back his work given that they are not playing for anything other than a draft pick at this point. Fantasy managers who have Robinson on their team should keep an eye on his practice participation this week but have a backup option ready to go on Sunday, although his new knee injury seems minor and mostly cautionary as of Wednesday.

Nov 15th · 01:37 AM
James Robinson A Bright Spot In Loss To The Colts

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel) suited up and played well this week despite managing a minor heel issue that caused him to miss Week 9 while affecting his playing time again in Week 10. Robinson totaled 57 yards and a touchdown on the ground in the game while adding four catches and 27 yards through the air en route to 18.4 PPR points total in the team's 23-17 loss to Indianapolis. Robinson has made it abundantly clear that he's a high-end RB2 when healthy, and seeing as though he didn't suffer any setbacks in Week 10, fantasy managers can expect that sort of production going forward.

Nov 14th · 04:39 PM
James Robinson Will Play, Could Be Limited In Week 10

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel) will play in Week 10 against Indianapolis. Robinson wasn't available in Week 9 versus the Buffalo Bills, opening the door for Carlos Hyde to produce 67 yards off 21 touches. However, despite Robinson's updated designation, there are rumblings he may be limited to some degree. As a result, he could split touches with Hyde on Sunday, so fantasy managers may want to err on the side of caution against a tough Colts defense.

Nov 14th · 12:13 PM
James Robinson Remains True Game-Time Decision

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel) is a true game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Colts, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The 2020 undrafted free agent did not play last Sunday and missed practice this past Wednesday, but he was able to log limited sessions on Thursday and Friday. He has appeared in seven games this season, racking up 615 scrimmage yards and five total touchdowns. Fantasy managers can trust him as a high-end RB2 if he plays. Otherwise, Carlos Hyde will start and represent a low-end RB2 option.

Nov 12th · 04:39 PM
James Robinson Trending In Right Direction For Sunday

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel), listed as questionable, is trending in the right direction for Sunday's game against the Colts. Robinson missed the team's Week 9 contest against Buffalo due to a bruised right heel- but he resumed practicing Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's session, which put him on track to suit up. The talented halfback is likely to carry a questionable tag into Sunday unless he practices in full but fantasy managers should expect to have him active for the divisional tilt. The Colt have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs, but Robinson's volume keeps him in the RB2 range.

Nov 11th · 09:12 PM
James Robinson Returns To Practice Thursday

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel) returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's session. It's good news for Robinson, who was forced to sit out of the team's Week 9 win over the Buffalo Bills while dealing with a painful bruised right heel. He's trending towards a return for a Week 10 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts on the road. The Jaguars have been expressing optimistic surrounding Robinson's status for this week, so barring any setbacks, Robinson should return to being a midrange RB2 for Week 10 lineups. Veteran Carlos Hyde served as Jacksonville's primary RB with Robinson out last weekend, and he predictably did very little against a stout Bills defense.

Nov 10th · 08:52 PM
James Robinson Not At Practice On Wednesday

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel) did not practice on Wednesday after missing last week's game against the Bills with the same injury. Robinson's inability to get on the field after over a week of rest is concerning, but he still has time to return to practice and suit up for Sunday's game against the Colts. If Robinson does sit, Carlos Hyde is not a recommended play against a strong Colts run defense. The veteran didn't do much on the ground against the Bills on Sunday and would be a touchdown-dependent FLEX play against Indianapolis.

Nov 9th · 04:52 PM
James Robinson Expected To Play In Week 10

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel) should be ready to play in Week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts, according to head coach Urban Meyer. Meyer went on to say he expects his starting running back to be limited in practice this week, so this is a situation to monitor leading up to Sunday. In Robinson's absence in Week 9, Carlos Hyde took on the role of RB1 and logged 21 carries for 64 yards. Clearly, the Jacksonville offense likes to have a workhorse running back, so if Robinson somehow misses another game then Hyde will be on the low-end RB2/RB3 borderline.

Nov 7th · 05:37 PM
James Robinson Out For Week 9

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel) is out for Sunday's game against the Bills. Expect to see Carlos Hyde serve as the lead back, with Dare Ogunbowale mixed in as well. Neither player is worth playing in most fantasy leagues, though Hyde's projected volume could make him a flex play in a 14-team league if you're feeling desperate for a running back.

Nov 7th · 01:54 PM
Jaguars Don't Sound Optimistic About James Robinson In Week 9

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (ankle) is likely facing an uphill battle. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Jaguars "don't sound optimistic that Robinson will play Sunday." The team will wait to make an official decision until 11:30 a.m. Eastern and Robinson's pain threshold will likely play a large role in his status. Assuming he can't suit up, Carlos Hyde would serve as the lead back against Buffalo. In such a scenario, Dare Ogunbowale and Devine Ozigbo would fill depth roles.

Nov 7th · 05:06 AM
Jaguars Not Optimistic About James Robinson

The Jacksonville Jaguars don't sound optimistic that running back James Robinson (heel), who is listed as questionable for Week 9 against the Buffalo Bills, will play Sunday, according to a source. However, the Jaguars will put him through pre-game warmups before making a final decision. If you were planning on starting Robinson, you'll obviously need to make other plans in case he's inactive. The 23-year-old is dealing with a bruised heel suffered in Week 8, and it's a pain-tolerance issue. Carlos Hyde is the next man up to see the majority of the backfield touches, but he'll also be facing a Bills defense that has given up the third-fewest fantasy points per game to RBs in eight weeks. He'd be in the RB3/flex range if Robinson sits. Dare Ogunbowale and Devine Ozigbo could also mix in.

Nov 5th · 04:55 PM
James Robinson Questionable For Week 9

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel) is listed as questionable for the Week 9 game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. "It's a ... pain threshold [thing]," head coach Urban Meyer said. "He's a tough, tough cat." Meyer also said that Robinson will test his foot in practice on Friday and see how it reacts. As of right now, fantasy managers should consider Robinson as a game-time decision for this weekend's game in a tough matchup. Downgrade him to more of an RB3/flex based on what we know now. If Robinson can't go, veteran Carlos Hyde figures to be the team's primary running back, with Dare Ogunbowale and Devine Ozigbo serving change-of-pace roles. But against a stout Bills defense, Hyde probably wouldn't be anything more than an RB3/flex himself.

Nov 4th · 08:35 PM
James Robinson Misses Another Practice

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel) missed his second straight day of practice this week on Thursday. He was the only player for the team not to practice on Thursday. Despite the two straight missed practices, he'll have a chance to play on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills if he can get back on the practice field on Friday. But even then, Robinson could be questionable for a tough matchup against Buffalo, making him more of an RB3 this week for fantasy managers. Carlos Hyde (calf), who returned to a full practice on Thursday, would likely serve as the primary back for Jacksonville if Robinson didn't play. Dare Ogunbowale and Devine Ozigbo are the only other running backs on the team's active roster.

Nov 4th · 12:02 AM
James Robinson Doesn't Practice Wednesday

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel) was a non-participant at practice on Wednesday after he was injured in the Week 8 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The good news is that the Jaguars don't think the injury is serious, but Robinson could be questionable for this weekend's game against the Buffalo Bills. The 23-year-old had only four carries for 22 yards and caught one pass for 17 yards last week, but that ended a streak of four straight games with at least one rushing touchdown. Against a stingy Bills defense and with his playing status up in the air, Robinson should be pushed down to the RB3/flex range heading into Week 9. Carlos Hyde and Dare Ogunbowale are the next men up in Jacksonville's backfield if Robinson is unable to play.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
