J.K. Dobbins Officially Done For The Year

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins (knee) is officially done for the season. The sophomore suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during the preseason finale against the Washington Football Team, and although team officials were hopeful, the bad news was confirmed on Sunday by an MRI. Last season, Dobbins was one of the most impactful fantasy options, finishing with 805 yards and nine touchdowns off 134 carries. Gus Edwards will likely assume the starting role moving forward, with Justice Hill and Ty'Son Williams probably backing him up. However, there have been rumblings that the Ravens are interested in signing free agent Todd Gurley II, and if he does agree to a deal, Hill and Williams probably won't get much work.

Ravens Expecting J.K. Dobbins To Be Out For The Year

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins (knee) is currently undergoing an MRI on his knee. We don't know the official diagnosis on his injury yet. However, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Ravens' expectation prior to the MRI was that he had suffered a season-ending knee injury in Saturday's preseason game against the Washington Football Team. We should get official news on the injury later today, but fantasy managers should expect for Dobbins to be sidelined for at least most of the 2021 season. As a result, Gus Edwards will be shooting up draft boards as he could be a potential RB2 as the lead back for the Ravens. Justice Hill could also be worth consideration in the late rounds of fantasy drafts while Ty'Son Williams is a name to jot down for extra-deep leagues.

J.K. Dobbins To Be Evaluated Further On Sunday

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins (knee) will undergo further testing on Sunday to determine the severity of the left knee injury he suffered during Sunday's preseason finale against the Washington Football Team. During the opening drive, the sophomore back went down and could not put any weight on his left leg before he was ultimately ruled out and carted off the field. The 23-year-old, former Ohio State Buckeye was fantastic during his inaugural campaign, finishing with 805 yards and nine touchdowns off 134 attempts. He was predicted to get an enhanced role after the departure of Mark Ingram II, although there is still a chance he avoided anything serious. Nonetheless, if Dobbins misses any time moving ahead, Gus Edwards would undoubtedly benefit from a fantasy standpoint.

J.K. Dobbins Exits Preseason Contest On A Cart

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins (knee) prematurely exited Saturday's preseason finale against Washington. The sophomore injured his left knee during the opening drive of the contest, and after he wasn't able to stand, he subsequently was carted off the field to the locker room for an evaluation. Fantasy managers are certainly hoping for the best, especially those who have already drafted. However, if Dobbins misses time moving ahead, Gus Edwards will undoubtedly see an increase in fantasy interest moving ahead. Justice Hill could also see his stock rise and would presumably take over as the backup.

J.K. Dobbins Still Has A High Ceiling In 2021

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins has many fantasy managers concerned, primarily after his lackluster play during the preseason. However, with a hobbled offensive line beginning to show signs of life and offensive coordinator Greg Roman sticking to a limited playbook during exhibitions, Dobbins is still anticipated to be a reliable option at the position come Week 1. The 22-year-old had a fantastic inaugural campaign, finishing with 805 yards and nine touchdowns off 134 carries. He also added 18 catches, a number that could very well increase moving ahead. Nonetheless, managers should target the former Ohio State Buckeye somewhere in the second or third rounds of upcoming fantasy drafts, regardless of format, while also considering Gus Edwards as an insurance policy later on.

J.K. Dobbins Make An Appearance In Win

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins got some work in during the exhibition win over the Carolina Panthers. While Nate McCrary and Ty'Son Williams did most of the dirty work on Saturday evening, combining for 25 carries, Dobbins still dipped his toes in the water, racking up eight yards off four attempts. Nonetheless, the sophomore back didn't have anything to prove and didn't need to play anyway, as he currently sits comfortably atop the team's depth chart after his impressive inaugural campaign. With Baltimore expected to rely on the run heavily once again in 2021, Dobbins should get serious attention from fantasy managers looking for a reliable option at the position.

J.K. Dobbins Envisions Himself As Elite Running Back

Heading into the 2021 season, Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins will be the lead back in the most prolific rushing attack in the NFL. The Ravens' offensive coordinator Greg Roman has made it known that he expects the Baltimore running backs to have an expanded role in the passing game this season. In an interview at training camp, Dobbins said "I want to be considered one of those top running backs in the league, so being a better receiver is one of the things I've got to do to be like an Alvin Kamara or a Christian McCaffrey." Dobbins could be in for a breakout season with a role as a pass-catcher, as he has a safe floor because of his spot on the depth chart in a high-volume rushing attack. As of now, he projects as a safe fantasy RB2 with a limited ceiling. This is because of quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Gus Edwards inevitably vulturing rushing attempts and touchdown opportunities.

J.K. Dobbins In Line For A Breakout Year

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins is on the radar for a breakout 2021 campaign. According to FanDuel, the former Buckeye is a favorite to compile the most regular-season rushing yards by the end of the year. Whether Dobbins will do it or not is debatable. However, he has the potential to finish as one of the league's most elite backs. The 22-year-old completed his inaugural season with 805 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, doing so despite competition for snaps from Mark Ingram II and Gus Edwards. Dobbins also found the end zone in each of the team's final six regular-season games, so managers looking for upside shouldn't need to look much harder than him, especially now than Ingram is out of the picture.

Jun 25th · 04:24 PM
J.K. Dobbins To Be More Involved In Passing Game

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins had an impressive rookie season, but the coaches have been vocal about their desire to get him more involved in the passing game in 2021. Dobbins has shown this offseason that's he's more than capable of contributing in the passing game out of the backfield. He was regularly involved in the passing game in offseason practices and made several tough catches. The 22-year-old will need to show a better feel for blitz pickup on passing downs, but he has given the coaching staff plenty of reasons to keep him on the field more often. With Baltimore at least saying that they want to throw more in 2021, Dobbins should become a top-15 running back in full and half PPR leagues.

Jan 16th · 07:43 PM
J.K. Dobbins A Strong Fantasy Option Against Bills

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins saw his carries drop into single digits last week for the first time since Week 10, but the rookie rusher should be considered a top RB play in DFS contests for Saturday's game against the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo's run defense has proven to have some holes in it, as they allowed the 13th-most fantasy points to the position during the regular season. Gus Edwards could siphon off some work, but Dobbins is clearly the running back to play in this backfield this week because of his upside.

Jan 10th · 10:30 PM
J.K. Dobbins Extends Scoring Streak

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins recorded 43 yards and a touchdown off nine touches during the postseason win over the Titans on Sunday. He also caught a pass for negative yardage. With the Ravens once again turning to the run, the rookie capitalized by recording his seventh-straight game with at least one trip to the end zone. Though Gus Edwards and Lamar Jackson, who combined for 24 carries on the afternoon, are still in the picture, Dobbins has significant upside moving ahead, especially when inside the red zone.

Jan 7th · 08:38 PM
Plenty Of Buzz Surrounds J.K. Dobbins

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins has received plenty of attention as of late. Although the rookie got off to a relatively slow start in 2020, he has picked things up by racking up at least 11 carries and a touchdown in each of his previous six contests. Although Gus Edwards and Lamar Jackson may likely insert themselves into the running game against the Titans, just like they have done all season, Dobbins should be the No. 1 option out of the backfield and during goal-line plays. The 22-year-old ran for 70 yards and a score off of 15 carries and caught a few passes during the overtime loss to Tennessee back in Week 11, so fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if he has a similar performance.

Jan 3rd · 10:28 PM
J.K. Dobbins Ends Regular Season With A Splendid Performance

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins finished with 160 yards and two touchdowns off only 13 attempts during the win over Cincinnati in Week 17. The rookie had his best performance of the season on Sunday while also finding the end zone in each of his last six outings. Although the team opted to utilize the committee approach out of the backfield this year, Dobbins established himself as the No. 1 option over Gus Edwards and Mark Ingram II, especially toward the end of the 2020 campaign. Expect the 22-year-old to get plenty of attention from managers in 2021 fantasy drafts as he may find himself ranked within the top-10 spots at his position.

Jan 3rd · 02:48 PM
J.K. Dobbins A Fringe RB1 Against Cincinnati

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins has been on a tear after a quiet start to his rookie campaign. Dobbins has produced at least 50 rushing yards and a touchdown in five straight games, averaging 5.4 yards per carry in that span. With Mark Ingram II (illness) expected to be inactive and Gus Edwards (back), a bit banged up, we could potentially see Dobbins in a workhorse role. His career-high in carries so far is 15, though he should have a good chance of hitting that number on Sunday against the Bengals' 25th-ranked run defense. Look at him as a strong RB2 who could very well run his way into a top-12 finish at the position in Week 17.

Dec 28th · 12:13 AM
J.K. Dobbins Does It Again On Sunday

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins racked up 77 yards and a touchdown off of 11 attempts during the win over the New York Giants on Sunday. The rookie managed to find the end zone for the fifth time in as many games. Although Dobbins continues to concede touches to both Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards, he has established himself as a viable every week fantasy option in all formats. Fantasy managers should keep him rolling against the Bengals in the final week of the regular season as he has a strong chance to make it six in a row.

Dec 20th · 09:43 PM
J.K. Dobbins Finds The End Zone Once Again

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins ran for 64 yards and a touchdown off 14 attempts during the win over Jacksonville on Sunday. He also had a catch for 17 yards. The rookie continued to roll in Week 15 by finding the end zone for the fourth time in as many games. He conceded carries to Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards once again, but he should continue to eat enough to remain fantasy-relevant moving ahead. Keep him starting against the Giants in Week 16.

Dec 20th · 02:46 AM
J.K. Dobbins Looking For Another Touchdown In Week 15

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins continues to benefit from the team's commitment to the rushing attack. Despite being locked up in a timeshare with Gus Edwards and Lamar Jackson, the rookie has made a consistent dent on the fantasy end by finding the end zone in each of his last three outings. For those in need of a back with upside, fantasy managers should keep the 22-year-old in mind against a lackluster Jaguars Defense on Sunday.

Dec 15th · 02:25 PM
J.K. Dobbins Leads The Way On Monday Night

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins ran for 53 yards and a score off of 13 attempts during the Monday night win over the Browns. The rookie led the team in carries in this one, racking up six more than Gus Edwards, who also had a stellar outing of his own by producing a multi-touchdown performance. Dobbins has now found the end zone in his previous three contests and with the Ravens committed to the run, he may continue to get plenty of work moving ahead. He is worth a start in virtually all fantasy formats, regardless of size, against the Jaguars in Week 15.

Dec 9th · 05:01 AM
J.K. Dobbins Puts Forth Solid Effort On Tuesday

Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins ran for 71 yards and a score off 11 carries during the Tuesday night win over the Dallas Cowboys. With Baltimore focusing on the run in this one, the rookie was still able to put up some numbers despite Lamar Jackson, Mark Ingram II, and Gus Edwards combining for 26 carries. While the backfield will likely remain crowded for the remainder of the 2020 campaign, Dobbins still has upside, primarily if he continues to get opportunities inside the red zone. Fantasy managers must also acknowledge, however, that his downside can be equally as disappointing.

Dec 5th · 03:18 PM
J.K. Dobbins Should Lead Ravens Backfield

Baltimore Ravens rookie running back J.K. Dobbins is off the COVID list and should be active on Tuesday when the Ravens face the Dallas Cowboys. Considering Dobbins worked as the lead back the last time he was on the field and Gus Edwards had just 10 rushing yards in Dobbins's place against the Steelers Wednesday, we should probably go ahead and consider Dobbins the No. 1 guy here in a backfield that's trending out of being a committee. The Cowboys allow the second-most rushing yards per game to opposing running backs, making this a great matchup for Dobbins. Consider him a high-end RB2.

Dec 4th · 10:00 PM
J.K. Dobbins Activated, Robert Griffin III To IR

The Baltimore Ravens activated rookie running back J.K. Dobbins, linebacker Pernell McPhee and centers Patrick Mekari and Matt Skura from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday while placing quarterback Robert Griffin III (hamstring) on Injured Reserve in a corresponding move. Cornerback Anthony Averett and wide receiver Chris Moore were also activated from IR. Dobbins missed Week 12 but should return as the lead back in Week 13 against the Cowboys on Tuesday and will be an upside RB2 for fantasy managers hoping to get into the fantasy playoffs. Dallas is also allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to RBs. Griffin was forgettable on Wednesday against Pittsburgh and will now miss at least the next three games. If Lamar Jackson doesn't get cleared from the COVID-19 protocols this weekend, Trace McSorley would start under center against the Cowboys.

Dec 2nd · 07:33 PM
J.K. Dobbins, Mark Ingram II Inactive Wednesday

Baltimore Ravens running backs J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram II are not active for Wednesday's game against the Steelers despite being eligible to return from the COVID-19 list. Dobbins and Ingram didn't travel with the team on Tuesday night because it was the final day of their 10-day quarantine after testing positive for the virus. They haven't been put on the active roster and neither has practiced since the overtime loss to the Titans 10 days ago. The rookie Dobbins figures to take over as the team's lead back down the stretch, while Ingram has been slowly phased out of the offense. Gus Edwards will get the start against Pittsburgh and has rushed for 217 yards and a touchdown in his last two games against the Steelers. Justice Hill will back up Edwards, who will have RB2 upside for fantasy managers that stuck with him despite Baltimore's COVID-19 outbreak this week.

Dec 2nd · 04:00 PM
Mark Ingram II, J.K. Dobbins Not Expected To Play Wednesday

Baltimore Ravens running backs Mark Ingram II and rookie J.K. Dobbins are eligible to come off the COVID-19 list before Wednesday's game against the Steelers, but neither of them are expected to play. Gus Edwards will get the start. It's a tough matchup against the undefeated Steelers, but Edwards has RB2 upside for fantasy managers that waited this one out in Week 12. The Steelers Defense allows the third-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs, including only five rushing scores all year, but Edwards should have a decent floor because of the expected volume he should receive. Baltimore could run the ball even more, too, with inclement weather expected and with quarterback Lamar Jackson also out due to COVID-19.

Dec 2nd · 02:18 AM
J.K. Dobbins, Mark Ingram II Not Guaranteed To Play

Baltimore Ravens running backs J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram II are both eligible to be activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list prior to the Week 12 game against the Steelers on Wednesday, but it's not a given that either will play. Both players have been isolated since testing positive for the virus on Nov. 22 and aren't allowed to fly on the team plane on Tuesday night. At this point, if you have Dobbins or Ingram on your roster, you've likely benched them for other running backs that already played in Week 12. Even if they both play, Gus Edwards could see the majority of backfield touches and will be the best fantasy play of the trio. Those that picked up Edwards in order to start him this week are hoping that neither Dobbins nor Ingram suit up in the tough matchup against the undefeated Steelers.

Nov 30th · 11:50 PM
J.K. Dobbins, Mark Ingram II On Track To Play Wednesday

Baltimore Ravens running backs J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram II appeared destined to miss the team's Week 12 contest versus Pittsburgh after positive COVID-19 tests last week. But with the game being pushed to Wednesday afternoon due to the COVID-19 outbreak within the Ravens organization, both Dobbins and Ingram will have met the league's conditions of 10-day self-isolation. Gus Edwards had been in line to see a significant workload out of the backfield, especially with quarterbackLamar Jacksonout of the mix due to COVID-19, but the return of Ingram and Dobbins essentially zaps Edwards of some RB2 upside, even as the group figures to spearhead the offense against a stout Steelers Defense. None of the three has emerged as a consistent season-long fantasy contributor at this stage, making any of the group a risky play this week, if the game is even played at all.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”

Alex Baker has been playing daily fantasy professionally since 2015 under the handle Awesemo. Working his way up from the smallest stakes, he has been the #1 overall ranked player in DFS since 2017 on the strength of his predictive models for sports. As the competition has gotten more sophisticated, Alex has used game theory to build a winning strategy combining his fantasy and ownership projections. To this day, he still participates in almost every DFS tournament available.
