Marlon Mack A Healthy Scratch Sunday

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack is a healthy scratch for Week 10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This shouldn't come as a huge surprise, as Mack has pretty much been an afterthought in Indy's backfield for most of the season with Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines in front of him on the depth chart. The best thing that could've happened for Mack's fantasy value was for the Colts to trade him at the deadline, but that never ended up happening. The 25-year-old hasn't been active since Week 8 and has played only 14 offensive snaps in his last three games. Unless Taylor or Hines get hurt, Mack will continue to be a non-factor in all fantasy leagues.

Quentin Nelson Active, Marlon Mack A Healthy Scratch

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack will be a healthy scratch in Week 9 versus the New York Jets. Mack had been long rumored to be a trade candidate, but remained a member of the Colts through Tuesday's trade deadline. Mack has been buried behind Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines for playing time and managers can safely leave him on the waiver wire. There was a possibility that offensive guard Quentin Nelson could miss Thursday's contest with an ankle injury, but he will active and that will be a big boost for the Colts run game with Taylor leading the backfield. Defensive end Ben Banogu, wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, cornerback Bopete Keyes and offensive lineman Julien Davenport and Will Fries will be inactive this evening.

Marlon Mack Expected To Remain With Colts

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack is expected to remain with the team after the trade deadline passes on Tuesday. With a limited role so far this season, Mack was a name that came up in trade rumors for teams in need of an addition to their backfield. The 25-year-old has recorded 28 carries for 101 yards this season in his return from a torn Achilles he suffered in Week 1 of 2020. With the news that he is to remain in his current situation, he can be left off the fantasy radar as he has become the No. 3 option behind Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines in the Indianapolis backfield.

Several Teams Interested In Marlon Mack

The Kansas City Chiefs, Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints are among the teams that have made preliminary inquiries for Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack in the last few weeks, according to sources. Any team that deals for Mack would acquire his 2021 base salary of $1 million fully guaranteed, according to a league source. The Colts and Mack have already both agreed that it's in everyone's best interest to seek a trade this year, as the 25-year-old is stuck behind both Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines in this backfield. Mack has only been active for four games this year, and he has exactly five carries in three of those contests. Although he hasn't been fantasy relevant to this juncture, keep Mack on your watch list, as he could see meaningful playing time if he's traded and lands in a good situation.

Marlon Mack Finishes With 12 Rushing Yards In Week 6 Win

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack carried five times for 12 yards in a 31-3 Week 6 win over the Houston Texans. Mack has seen a few carries here and there but is primarily limited in the Colts offense behind Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines. As a result, he should remain off of fantasy radars moving forward. However, rumors of a requested trade could result in an attractive landing spot for the fifth-year running back.

Oct 12th · 03:07 PM
Chiefs Interested In Marlon Mack?

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack has been swirling in trade rumors recently, and according to Jeremy Fowler, the Kansas City Chiefs are among the teams that are interested in acquiring the 25-year-old. Mack's role has diminished in the Indianapolis offense with the emergence of Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines, so he will likely be moved before the trade deadline. The Chiefs just lost Clyde Edwards-Helaire for a few weeks, so it makes sense why they are interested in the services of Mack. This is something to monitor, but Mack's fantasy value wouldn't increase all that much considering Darrel Williams and Jerick McKinnon remain in the Kansas City backfield.

Marlon Mack Rushes For 47 Yards In Week 5 Loss

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack carried five times for 47 yards, averaging 9.4 YPC and adding a seven-yard reception during a 31-25 overtime loss against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5. Mack has expressed interest in being traded from the Colts recently, so him earning more carries and targets than Nyheim Hines could stem from his initial trade request, as the Colts showcase his talent after undergoing surgery on his Achilles this offseason. With Jonathan Taylor emerging as the RB1 he turned out to be in 2020, and Hines typically absorbing the passing work, Mack should remain off of fantasy radars despite a favorable matchup against the Houston Texans in Week 6.

Marlon Mack Gets Involved In Week 4

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack had 22 yards off 12 carries during the Week 4 victory over the Dolphins. However, as expected, Jonathan Taylor led the way and finished with 103 yards and a touchdown off 16 attempts. Still, it was good for Mack's managers to see him out there, primarily since it may increase his trade stock moving ahead as there continue to be rumblings that he will be dealt elsewhere. While his fantasy upside is limited at the moment, mainly because he remains behind Taylor and Nyheim Hines on the depth chart, things may improve with a change of scenery. As a result, he is worth a stash in deeper formats until his immediate future is determined.

Colts Looking To Trade Marlon Mack

The Indianapolis Colts and running back Marlon Mack have mutually agreed to seek a trade, according to sources. Mack is fully healthy after tearing his Achilles last year, but the Colts already have Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines in their backfield. It's part of the reason why Mack was a healthy scratch in the Week 3 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Jordan Wilkins worked as the third running back behind Taylor and Hines last Sunday. Mack ran for over 1,000 yards for the first time in his career in 2019, but his role was going to be scaled back in 2020 before he tore his Achilles. On just a one-year deal, the 25-year-old could provide nice value to a backfield somewhere else. Depending on where he lands, he could have immediate fantasy value off the waiver wire.

Marlon Mack Listed As Inactive

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack is listed as a healthy scratch for the Colts' match against the Tennessee Titans. Due to quarterback Carson Wentz's ankle injury, it's believed that the Colts scratched Mack to open up a roster spot for an extra quarterback. Fantasy managers weren't starting the 25-year-old, but this serves as a confidence boost for Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines managers. Though he had a nice season in 2019 as the Colts' starting running back, Mack is now certainly droppable in all but the deepest Dynasty leagues.

Marlon Mack Out For Week 3

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack is a healthy scratch for the team's Week 3 contest against the Tennessee Titans. Mack has just five carries this season for 16 yards and took 13 snaps last week. If you drafted him in hopes that he'd have a role in this offense, it's time to admit you were wrong and send him to the waiver wire, as the Colts are going to continue to rely on Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines.

Sep 14th · 07:56 PM
Colts Still Plan To Involve Marlon Mack

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack was active for the team's season debut against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1. However, he didn't see a single snap. Despite this development, Colts offensive coordinator Marcus Brady told reporters on Tuesday that the team still plans on getting Mack involved. Mack suffered a torn Achilles in Week 1 of the 2020 season. He went on to miss the remainder of the year and was able to work his way back to health during the offseason. Jonathan Taylor is the team's No. 1 back with Nyheim Hines behind him. Mack and Jordan Wilkins are vying for the No. 3 back role, but neither are worthy of fantasy consideration for now.

Sep 8th · 10:14 AM
Marlon Mack Listed No.3 On The Colts RB Depth Chart

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack is listed as the number 3 back behind Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines. He went down with a season-ending Achilles' tendon tear in Week 1 of last season and continues to work his way back. The 25-year-old will see early-down work if Taylor were to miss any games. Hines is the Colts' top-passing catching option, and the team plans to involve him more in the offense this season. He was officially listed as No.2 on the RB depth chart. Fantasy managers should look to roster Hines as Taylor's primary backup but expect Mack to have a role if Taylor is out.

Jul 26th · 05:28 PM
Marlon Mack Enters Training Camp At 100 Percent

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack (Achilles tear) is reportedly entering training camp at 100 percent health, indicating that he'll be competing right away for backup running back snaps along with Nyheim Hines. Of course, Mack is dealing with the worst possible injury for a running back, so being fully recovered doesn't mean Mack will have the same burst and movement that he had before the injury. But if healthy, Mack should be able to earn the No. 2 role and would have some appeal in the later rounds of fantasy drafts, though Taylor's projected role doesn't leave much room for other players to have consistent fantasy value.

Mar 17th · 08:26 PM
Colts Bringing Marlon Mack Back

The Indianapolis Colts are re-signing running back Marlon Mack to a one-year deal worth $2 million on Wednesday, according to a source. Mack suffered a torn Achilles in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars last year and missed the rest of the season. He was coming off of his first 1,000-yard rushing season in 2019, proving to be a steal as a fourth-round pick by the team in 2017. The 25-year-old isn't much of a pass-catching threat, though, with just 55 career receptions. While he has proven capable of being a bell-cow back in the past, that will not happen in 2021 in Indy with the emergence of Jonathan Taylor last year. Taylor took the No. 1 duties last year and produced 1,468 scrimmage yards and 12 touchdowns on 268 touches. Nyheim Hines figures to remain as the team's third-down back as well, so Mack will be fighting for scraps in his return to Indy.

Mar 17th · 06:09 PM
Marlon Mack Generating Interest As Free Agent

Former Indianapolis Colts featured running back Marlon Mack (Achilles) is generating interest despite having his 2020 season cut short by a torn Achilles. It is possible that he will sign a one-year deal, perhaps in the next 24 hours, to show that he's healthy and to reset his market. The 25-year-old has been progressing nicely in his rehab and plans to be ready for training camp this summer. That should bode well for teams being interested him on the open market. Mack probably won't land a featured-back role coming off a devastating injury, but he could be a nice complement in the right situation. He had his best season in 2019 with the Colts, carrying the ball 247 times for a career-high 1,091 yards and eight touchdowns. Mack also added 14 receptions for 82 yards in 14 games (12 starts) that season.

Sep 14th · 05:05 PM
Marlon Mack Out For Season With Torn Achilles

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack (Achilles) will officially miss the rest of the 2020 season after suffering a torn Achilles in the Week 1 loss to the Jaguars. Mack had four carries for 26 yards and three catches for 30 yards before leaving with the injury in the second quarter. It comes after he rushed for 1,091 yards in a breakout 2019 season. Mack has never played a full 16-game slate in his four years in the NFL, and he's set to become a free agent in 2021. Nyheim Hines and rookie Jonathan Taylor each had 15 touches on Sunday, with Taylor earning 89 scrimmage yards and Hines going for 73 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns while getting a lot of red-zone action. Hines will be one of the hottest waiver pickups heading into Week 2, while Taylor will basically be a must-start RB2 from here on out.

Sep 13th · 07:27 PM
Marlon Mack May Have Torn Achilles

The Indianapolis Colts fear that Marlon Mack suffered a torn Achilles on Sunday. If so, his 2020 season will be over. Nyheim Hines took on a larger role with Mack gone, working as a receiving back as expected but also seeing goal line work. Both Hines and rookie Jonathan Taylor would see their value jump up if Mack's season is over, with Hines being one of the top waiver priority for fantasy managers this week. Meanwhile, Taylor likely takes over as the lead back earlier than expected and should be a weekly start running behind a good offensive line.

Sep 13th · 06:45 PM
Marlon Mack Suffers Non-Contact Injury

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack (foot) suffered a potential foot/ankle injury midway through the second quarter against the Jaguars on Sunday. The veteran was carted back to the locker room, and with this injury being of the non-contact variety, it certainly doesn't look promising for Mack's outlook for the foreseeable future. His status for the remainder of the game and the season, for that matter, is uncertain at the moment. Nyheim Hines, who has two touchdowns already, and rookie Jonathan Taylor, will both likely pick up some extra work.

Sep 13th · 05:58 PM
Marlon Mack Helped To The Sidelines With Ankle Injury

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack (ankle) was helped to the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury in the second quarter of today's game. He had four carries for 26 yards and three catches for 30 yards before the injury. Early indications are that it's nothing major as he was taken to the bench first, rather than the pop-up tent. Rookie Jonathan Taylor could get a chance to make some plays if Mack misses a few drives or more.

Sep 10th · 05:39 PM
Marlon Mack Looks To Build On 2019 Performance

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack had a solid 2019 campaign, eclipsing 1,000 yards on the ground and picking up eight touchdowns. He enters this season as the No. 1 running back on the depth chart, but we can expect him to share time with rookie running backJonathan Taylor. Mack saw success against Jacksonville last season, picking up 186 yards and three touchdowns over two contests. Jacksonville ranks 28th against opposing running backs, so that suggests a favorable matchup for Mack. He should be a good RB2 option this week, but his upside is lower with Taylor now in the picture.

Jun 4th · 06:45 PM
Marlon Mack Was Colts Most Explosive Runner In 2019

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack was the team's running game in 2019, which is why his broken hand in the second half of the season coincided with their late-season descent. He broke 15 mph on 51 runs (fourth-most among running backs) and had 28 runs of 10-plus yards. While Mack was an underrated explosive runner last year, his fantasy stock took a major hit when the Colts drafted rookie Jonathan Taylor in April. Mack could see the starting nod early in the season because of his veteran status, but Taylor is fully expected to take over this backfield at some point in 2020. The 24-year-old Mack can still make his mark with fewer touches because of his explosiveness, but he's expected to mainly be a flex option this year.

Jun 1st · 08:00 PM
Colts Have Respect For Marlon Mack's Veteran Standing

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich discussed whether running back Marlon Mack should have a lead on retaining the starting running back spot over rookie Jonathan Taylor in 2020. "Theres definitely inherent respect for the starter returning. And thats the way I see this.I see it as a 1-1 (punch)," Reich said. Mack and Taylor will form a one-one punch, but the Colts also foresee a big role for pass-catching back Nyheim Hines, so this could be a complicated backfield for fantasy owners to navigate. Reich mentioned Hines as a "role-playing starter." Even though Mack might be the nominal "starter" in Week 1, everyone expects Taylor to eventually take the lead in this backfield, making Mack more of an RB3/flex in the long run in 2020.

May 3rd · 04:49 PM
Marlon Mack, Jonathan Taylor To Form One-Two Punch

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich wants both running backs Marlon Mack and rookie Jonathan Taylor involved in the running game in 2020. The Colts traded up in the second round to draft Taylor, who ran for 2,003 yards and 21 touchdowns last year at Wisconsin. His 12 career games with at least 200 rushing yards are the most by any player in college football history. "With Jonathan into the mix, I really envision that itll be Jonathan and Marlon really being that one-two punch," Reich said. Mack ran for over 1,000 yards for the first time in his three seasons in 2019, but he has yet to truly distance himself in Indy's backfield, and Taylor could easily separate himself in this committee approach before long. Mack will probably be first off the board in drafts as an RB 2/3 type, but Taylor is an excellent handcuff and has more upside in what could be a very dynamic offense with quarterback Philip Rivers and rookie wideout Michael Pittman Jr. added to the mix.

Feb 24th · 03:31 AM
Colts Not Pursuing Extension For Marlon Mack

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said on Sunday that the team isn't pursuing a long-term contract extension with running back Marlon Mack currently. It doesn't mean that it's not on the table or that the Colts don't want to keep Mack around for the long-term, but it's not a pressing issue. The 23-year-old (24 next month) is scheduled to become a free agent after the 2020 season. He's been the starter the last two years and had 247 carries for 1,091 yards and eight touchdowns in 2019. However, he's also missed eight games the last two seasons, so Indy might be hesitant in thinking he'll continue to be a lead back for years to come. Mack does have a strong offensive line in front of him, but he'll be more of a low-end RB1/high-end RB2 going into the final year of his contract in 2020.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”

Alex Baker has been playing daily fantasy professionally since 2015 under the handle Awesemo. Working his way up from the smallest stakes, he has been the #1 overall ranked player in DFS since 2017 on the strength of his predictive models for sports. As the competition has gotten more sophisticated, Alex has used game theory to build a winning strategy combining his fantasy and ownership projections. To this day, he still participates in almost every DFS tournament available.
