Marquez Valdes-Scantling Targeted Nine Times In Week 12 Win

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling recorded four receptions on nine targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 36-28 win over the Los Angeles Rams. He tied Davante Adams with nine targets in Week 12. The 27-year-old now has 19 targets over his last two games. Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb (groin) exited in the second half and did not return, "MVS" should continue to see a high volume of targets if Cobb misses time. Valdes-Scantling has caught 17 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns over seven games in 2021. He's a high-upside stash due to his recent spike in usage and is a WR4/flex against the Chicago Bears in Week 14, following the team's bye in Week 13.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling - Week 12 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling is coming off a monster performance in the Week 11 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He caught four passes for 123 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown in last Sunday's loss. The 27-year-old led the Packers in targets and owned a whopping 32.3% percent of the team's target shares in Week 11. Teammate WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's contest against the Los Angeles Rams. The player known as "MVS" is the Packers WR2 and is a boom-or-bust option against a Rams defense that ranks eighth in DVOA against the opposing team's secondary target.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling Reels In 75-Yard TD In Week 11 Loss

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught 4-of-10 targets for 123 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The 27-year-old led the team in targets and receiving yards in the Week 11 loss. Teammate WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) was inactive for Sunday's game, "MVS" saw an uptick in snaps and usage. Valdes-Scantling is Green Bay's biggest home run threat, and Packers QB Aaron Rodgers connected with MVS for a 75-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to tie the game 31-31. Valdes-Scantling had his best game of the season and topped 100 yards for the first time all year. He will look to build on Sunday's performance in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling Doesn't Carry An Injury Designation

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hip) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. The 27-year-old was a limited participant in Friday's practice, but the shoulder injury wasn't severe enough to keep MVS out for Week 11. Allen Lazard (shoulder) is considered doubtful for Sunday's game; Valdes-Scantling should see an uptick in targets. The South Florida product has caught nine passes for 136 yards and one touchdown over five games this season. Valdes-Scantling is on the flex radar in deep-league formats in Week 11.

Nov 19th · 01:23 AM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Limited On Thursday

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hip) was limited in Thursday's practice with a hip injury. The speedy pass-catcher has had a quiet season with nine receptions for 136 yards and one touchdown in just five games this season. Wide receiver Allen Lazard (shoulder) missed his second straight practice on Thursday and the loss of Valdes-Scantling would be big for the Packers. It's good sign that MVS was limited, but managers should keep an eye on his status for Friday's practice. If Lazard and MVS were to miss Week 11, Randall Cobb would see increased snaps with Equanimeous St. Brown and Amari Rodgers also likely to get in the picture. Of those three, Cobb offers the most upside and should be the only receiver that managers consider of the bunch.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling Catches One Pass In Week 10 Win

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught one of two targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 17-0 win over the Seattle Seahawks. His only reception came in the first quarter when he hauled in a 41 yard-pass to put the Packers in a scoring position. The 27-year-old is the Packers' main downfield threat but has failed to catch more than three passes in any single game this season. "MVS" has caught nine passes for 137 yards and one touchdown over five games in 2021. Valdes-Scantling is a boom-or-bust flex against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11.

Nov 11th · 01:50 PM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling - Week 10 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) caught two passes for 19 yards in a Week 9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The 27-year-old returned last Sunday after missing five weeks due to a hamstring injury. He logged 54% of the offensive snaps, third behind Packers wide receivers Allen Lazard (84%) and Davante Adams (92%), only out snapping Randall Cobb (52%). The Packers will get back star quarterback Aaron Rodgers (COVID-19) in Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks. Valdes-Scantling caught eight passes for 95 yards and a touchdown over our games this season. Despite Rodgers returning, "MVS" is a boom-or-bust flex in Week 10.

Nov 7th · 08:06 PM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Active For Week 9

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, but with quarterback Jordan Love throwing the ball to him and Davante Adams and Allen Lazard also competing for touches, don't expect a ton of production from MVS in his return from Injured Reserve. The Packers will likely rely on the run against a porous Chiefs rushing defense as long as they don't fall behind by too large of a margin.

Nov 6th · 07:05 PM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Blake Bortles Active For Sunday

The Green Bay Packers will get back wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) for Sunday's contest against the Chiefs, while quarterback Blake Bortles will also be on the active roster after having been elevated from the practice squad. Valdes-Scantling has been sidelined since Week 3, with his return giving Green Bay roughly a complete version of its wideout corps. Bortles' elevation comes as a means of providing Jordan Love with a backup for his first NFL start due to Aaron Rodgers' (COVID-19 protocols) absence. Even with Rodgers under center, Valdes-Scantling is a touchdown-dependent fantasy option and his value is even more murky with Love slinging from the pocket.

Nov 2nd · 01:02 AM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Returning To Practice

The Green Bay Packers designated wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) to return from Injured Reserve on Monday. It will open his practice window leading up to the Week 9 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but it doesn't mean he'll be activated from IR and be active this weekend. The Packers will be getting Allen Lazard back from the COVID-19 list and should get Davante Adams back as well, so MVS won't be on the fantasy radar as anything more than a dart-throw boom/bust WR4/flex in cavernous leagues in what will be a projected shootout against the Chiefs. The 27-year-old hasn't played since Week 3 and had only six catches on 16 targets for 76 yards and one touchdown before his injury landed him on IR.

Packers Not Expected To Activate Marquez Valdes-Scantling

The Green Bay Packers are not expected to activate wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) from Injured Reserve before Thursday night's game against the Arizona Cardinals, according to a source. Green Bay will be also be without Davante Adams and Allen Lazard, who are both on the COVID-19 list. As a result, quarterback Aaron Rodgers will surely have a lower fantasy ceiling as a QB1. The Packers will likely involve running backs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon more, as well as tight end Robert Tonyan. At wideout, veteran Randall Cobb, Equanimeous St. Brown and rookie Amari Rodgers should operate in three-receiver sets. Juwann Winfree was called up from the practice squad and will give the team extra depth.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling Expected To Play Thursday

The current expectation is that Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) will be activated from Injured Reserve and play on Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals, according to a source. It's good news with both Davante Adams and Allen Lazard, the team's top two receivers, unlikely to play this week after they were placed on the COVID-19 list. However, Valdes-Scantling hasn't played since Week 3 and has only six catches on 16 targets for 76 yards and a touchdown in his three games played this year, so don't expect him to have a huge role on offense despite the Packers being short-handed at the position Thursday night. Randall Cobb, Equanimeous St. Brown and rookie Amari Rodgers figures to play mostly in three-receiver sets.

Oct 26th · 08:46 PM
Packers Not Ruling Out Marquez Valdes-Scantling For Thursday

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur isn't ruling out wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) returning from Injured Reserve and playing on Thursday night in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals. Green Bay has a bigger need for MVS to return now that both Davante Adams and Allen Lazard, the team's top two receivers this year, are on the COVID-19 list and are unlikely to play this week. Even if Valdes-Scantling were to return, we'd be surprised if he had a big role, as he's missed the last four weeks after catching just six of 16 targets for 76 yards and a touchdown in the first three weeks. Expect Randall Cobb, Equanimeous St. Brown and rookie Amari Rodgers to be quarterback Aaron Rodgers' top three receivers against Arizona, with tight end Robert Tonyan also being more involved.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling Officially Lands On Injured Reserve

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) was officially placed on the Injured Reserve on Saturday. The latest development wasn't a surprise, primarily since he was already ruled out for the Week 4 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 26-year-old is currently ranked second on the team in targets and receiving yards, although he still hasn't been a stable fantasy producer this season. He has a chance to return in Week 7 against the Washington Football Team. However, in the meantime, managers should continue to expect plenty of looks for Davante Adams, with Aaron Jones, Robert Tonyan, and Allen Lazard also in line to benefit. Equanimeous St. Brown was additionally promoted to the active roster in a corresponding move, though he doesn't have much upside.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling Ruled Out, Expected To Go On IR

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and is expected to be placed on the short-term Injured Reserve, according to a source. The Packers are worried that the speedy downfield threat could aggravate his injury if he tries to play through it. If MVS goes on IR, he'll be forced to miss at least three weeks. Through three weeks, Valdes-Scantling is second among Packers wideouts with 16 targets, and he's caught six of them for 76 yards and one TD. Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, rookie Amari Rodgers and Malik Taylor will now battle for looks behind top wideout Davante Adams. Cobb and Lazard are the best bets to fill out three-receiver sets and are worth a pickup in deeper leagues.

Sep 30th · 08:55 PM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s Injury Is Short-Term

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) missed Thursday's practice, but he shouldn't miss much more time. Still, the speedster may miss the against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4, but he presumably won't miss any more time beyond that. Fantasy managers shouldn't have been starting Valdes-Scantling in standard leagues anyways, but this injury makes him one to avoid this weekend. However, the 26-year-old still warrants occasional DFS consideration and a roster spot in deeper leagues, as he is clearly capable of catching a long touchdown in any given week.

Sep 30th · 07:46 PM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Won't Practice Thursday

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) will miss his second straight practice on Thursday. Valdes-Scantling's hamstring injury isn't believed to be a long-term issue, but it doesn't mean he'll play in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Packers aren't expected to make a final decision on him until later in the week, possibly before game time late Sunday afternoon. The 26-year-old is second on the team in targets behind Davante Adams, but he'll be an extremely risky flex play in deeper leagues this week because of his injury. Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard would likely see more playing time against Pittsburgh this weekend if MVS doesn't suit up.

Sep 30th · 01:11 AM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Could Be Game-Time Decision

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said it will take the entire week to determine whether wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) will be able to play in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Valdes-Scantling missed practice on Wednesday after he suffered a hamstring injury in the Week 3 win over the San Francisco 49ers. Through three games, MVS is second in targets (16) behind Davante Adams, and he's caught only six of those targets for 76 yards and a touchdown. If he cannot make it on game day this Sunday, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb should see additional work in the passing game, as well as Amari Rodgers and Malik Taylor. Although Green Bay has a nice matchup against the Steelers secondary this weekend, it's hard to trust any Packers wideout not named Adams for consistent fantasy production.

Sep 27th · 05:00 AM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Hauls In Touchdown

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught three passes for 59 yards with one touchdown in the Packers 30-28 win over the 49ers. Valdes-Scantling secured a 12-yard pass from quarterback Aaron Rodgers for his first touchdown of the season. The 26-year-old receiver enjoyed a strong training camp but the results were not evident through the first two games. Valdes-Scantling will be a touchdown-dependent dart-throw vying for targets with teammate Allen Lazard moving forward.

Sep 22nd · 08:29 PM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Not A Fantasy Option Right Now

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling will take on a 49ers defense Sunday night that currently has allowed the fourth fewest fantasy points to receivers through two games. After being lauded in training camp, Valdes-Scantling's regular season has landed with a thud. The 26-year-old has seen 12 targets through the first two weeks but has come up with only three catches for 17 yards. Until he begins to raise fantasy floor, Valdes-Scantling is not a fantasy option.

Sep 21st · 04:45 AM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Fails To Catch A Pass In Week 2

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling failed to register a reception in the team's 35-17 win over the Lions in Week 2. Scantling was targeted four times but came up empty in a bounce back performance for the Packers offense as a whole. The buzz about Valdes-Scantling's impressive training camp has evaporated quickly and is not a fantasy consideration heading into Week 3.

Sep 15th · 08:56 PM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Will Have WR4/5 Week 2 Value

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling will have an opportunity to bounce back in Week 2 against the Lions. After a fantastic training camp, Valdes-Scantling was held to three catches for 17 yards in a dismal team effort against the Saints last week. But the Packers matchup against the Lions could be just what the doctor ordered as the Lions were ripped up in Week 1 by the 49ers and allowed the third most fantasy points to opposing receivers last season. Valdes-Scantling will be tough to trust as a fantasy starter in standard formats but did catch six passes for 85 yards with one touchdown against the Lions in Week 14 last season.

Sep 8th · 12:34 AM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Has Chance To Step Up

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marques Valdes-Scantling will have a chance to parlay a strong training camp into a fast start to his season beginning Week 1 against the Saints. Valdes-Scantling has been a frustrating player in past seasons, someone who can explode within a game as a tall, dynamic playmaker and disappear the next week. But reports out of training camp have been promising in regards to Valdes-Scantling's production in practice and has been fantastic securing the football on passes. The 26-year-old will go up against a Saints defense in Week 1 that allowed the 16th fewest fantasy points to opposing receivers. Valdes-Scantling caught only one pass against the Saints in Week 3 while teammate Allen Lazard exploded for 146 yards with one touchdown. Until Valdes-Scantling proves it on the field, Lazard is the choice as the Packers WR2 to start the season.

Aug 26th · 09:20 PM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Praised By Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling has enjoyed a fantastic training camp and reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers has taken notice. The veteran quarterback praised Valdes-Scantling for a being a "leader" and a "true professional" in the receivers room. Not only has Valdes-Scantling raised his game off the field but has raised his level of play on the field during camp. Coaches have raved about the improvement of his hands and the WR2 role is pretty much up for grabs between Valdes-Scantling, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb.

Aug 19th · 09:40 PM
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Drops Long Pass In Practice

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling did what he's known for by beating a helpless cornerback deep, but then dropping a perfectly placed deep ball in practice. The fourth-year receiver does still hold potential if he can resolve his issues with drops, but that's too unlikely of a gamble for fantasy managers to act on. The speedster might actually be one of the closest comparisons to Kansas City Chiefs superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill, except there's that one lingering issue that is seemingly unfixable. Valdes-Scantling warrants a roster spot in dynasty leagues since he is one fix away from being a dominant wideout, but he should remain on waivers in standard-sized leagues to begin the season. Fantasy managers may be tempted to pick up the Packer as a flier, but try to resist the urge. A breakout is extremely improbable.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
