Miles Sanders "Absolutely" Expects To Play After Bye

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) stated he "absolutely" expects to play in Week 15 against the Washington Football Team. During Sunday's meeting against the Jets, the 24-year-old aggravated the same ankle the landed him on the injured reserve list back in October. However, with the team having a Week 14 bye, Sanders has a good chance at making it back. However, if he doesn't, Jordan Howard (knee), Boston Scott (illness), and rookie Kenneth Gainwell, who arguably had the best game of his career against Washington, could be in store for more work. Still, fantasy managers should keep Sanders on the roster as there is a small upside there, although he has been far from a reliable option throughout the 2021-22 campaign.

Miles Sanders Plays Well But Leaves Early In Week 13

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) played well in a Week 13 win over the New York Jets, but was forced to leave early due to an ankle injury. With Jordan Howard (knee), and Jalen Hurts (ankle) out and Boston Scott (illness) active but not playing, Sanders handled 27 touches in this game. He ran the ball 24 times for 120 yards and added three catches for 22 yards. He hurt his ankle on a sideline tackle and quickly went into the medical tent before being seen sitting back on the Eagles bench as they ran out the clock for their victory. With the team heading into their bye week, Sanders and the rest of the injured Eagles will have some extra time to heal.

Miles Sanders - Week 13 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) was able to practice in full on Thursday leading up to a Week 13 matchup against the New York Jets. Sanders hurt his ankle and missed some snaps in the Week 12 loss against the Giants, but he seems to have healed from that by now. With Boston Scott (illness) and Jordan Howard (knee) missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday, Sanders could end up with the lion's share of carries in a game that the Eagles could have an easy lead in throughout. He'll be an RB2, but could have RB1 upside depending on the who ends up healthy in the Eagles backfield.

Miles Sanders Expects To Play Versus Jets

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) said he feels good and expects to play on Sunday in a plus matchup against the Jets. With Jalen Hurts (ankle) also battling an ankle injury, head coach Nick Sirianni had mentioned that Hurts would likely run less this weekend. That would likely mean more carries for Sanders and Boston Scott, especially with Jordan Howard still banged up and unlikely to play. Given the strong matchup, both Sanders and Scott could be started this weekend, with Sanders being a risky RB2 option with clear upside.

Miles Sanders Limited With Ankle Injury

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) picked up an ankle injury in the Week 12 loss to the New York Giants and was limited in practice on Wednesday. Sanders didn't play in the fourth quarter on Sunday, ceding snaps to Boston Scott and rookie Kenneth Gainwell with Jordan Howard (knee) out. Howard is unlikely to return this Sunday against the New York Jets, so Sanders should have a big role in a great matchup if he's able to get through the practice week. Before leaving last week's game, Sanders had nine carries for 64 yards and caught his only target for no gain. It's been a disappointing year for Sanders between injuries and performance (no touchdowns), but he'll have nice RB2 upside against the Jets if he's able to play.

Miles Sanders Gets 10 Touches In Week 12

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) only saw 10 touches in a Week 12 loss to the New York Giants. Sanders missed some time at the start of the second half with an ankle injury, but was able to return shortly afterwards. Even before the ankle injury, Sanders was clearly splitting time with Boston Scott, who ended up with the goal line carries. Sanders has all the talent of an RB1, but just hasn't been used as more than a committee member with the Eagles lately. He'll continue to have some weekly upside, but cannot be relied upon as anything more than a low-end RB2 until the Eagles show a commitment to their best running back.

Miles Sanders - Week 12 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders could be a solid fantasy option in a Week 12 matchup against the New York Giants. Sanders will remain the starter and should be the lead back in the backfield, but quarterback Jalen Hurts will likely continue to operate as the team's first rushing option. Still, Eagles running backs have averaged over 30 carries a game since Week 8, and Sanders picked up 5.9 yards per run on 16 touches in Week 11. With Jordan Howard (knee) not expected to play, it'll be a lot of Sanders with some Boston Scott mixed in, making Sanders a solid RB2 with upside this week.

Miles Sanders Runs For 94 Yards In His Return

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) made his return to the field in Week 11 and ran the ball 16 times for 94 yards. He was targeted just once in the passing game but was unable to make the catch. He did lose a fumble in the game, but he looked good overall, showing no ill effects from the ankle injury that kept him out for the past three games. He averaged a healthy 5.9 yards per carry, but did cede 16 carries to Jordan Howard and Boston Scott. Besides that, quarterback Jalen Hurts led the Eagles with 18 carries, including two goal line touchdowns. Sanders has clear RB1 talent, but the Eagles scheme may keep him from being much more than a middling RB2 most weeks.

Philadelphia Activates Miles Sanders Ahead Of Sunday’s Game

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) has been given the green light to return to the field for Sunday's contest against the Saints, having been activated from injured reserve Saturday. Sanders has missed the Eagles' past three games with an ankle injury, with his return taking much of the fantasy shine off the trio of Jordan Howard, Kenneth Gainwell, and Boston Scott. While Sanders began the year as the most exciting of Philly's backfield options, he has yet to find the end zone this season and has logged double-digit carries in just three of his seven appearances. The 24-year-old may be the freshest of the group, but how the snaps will be divvied remains unclear. Facing the Saints' top-ranked rush defense (72.9 yards per game), Sanders will be a risky FLEX play at best in season-long formats.

Miles Sanders Still Up In The Air For Week 11

The Philadelphia Eagles are still waiting to see how running back Miles Sanders (ankle) does the next two days before they decide on activating him from Injured Reserve in time for the Week 11 game against the New Orleans Saints. Sanders missed the minimum three games on IR and returned to practice earlier this week, but the fact that the Eagles still are not sure whether Sanders will return to play suggests that he's more likely to sit out another game and try to return next week. And if the 24-year-old is activated and active on Sunday in a tough draw against the Saints, fantasy managers should be extremely wary of starting him due to a potential limited workload. Jordan Howard has been the primary guy in recent weeks with Sanders out, with Boston Scott also being productive in a smaller role. When Sanders returns, this Philly backfield could become a downright frustrating committee.

Miles Sanders Designated To Return From Injured Reserve

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) has been designated to return from the injured reserve, which gives the team 21 days to activate him for game day. Practice this week will help to determine if the Eagles think Sanders is healthy enough to play against the Saints, but it would be wise to keep him on the bench regardless until we see how snaps are split between Sanders, Jordan Howard, Boston Scott, and Kenneth Gainwell. The Eagles were just starting to commit to the run when Sanders got hurt, so it's possible that he comes back to more usage than he saw earlier in the season; however, Jordan Howard has been surprisingly effective while Sanders was gone and could retain short yardage usage, which could sap some of Sanders' touchdown value the rest of the way.

Miles Sanders Lands On Injured Reserve

The Philadelphia Eagles are placing running back Miles Sanders (ankle) on Injured Reserve on Friday, according to a source. Sanders will now miss the next three games after suffering a low ankle sprain in the Week 7 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, but he should be back soon after he's eligible to return. The 24-year-old, and the Eagles run game in general, has been a huge disappointment in 2021. The good news is they have a great matchup against the winless Detroit Lions this Sunday. Rookie Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott will pick up the slack, with Jordan Howard a possibility to pitch in as well. Gainwell will be the better PPR play, while Scott will be a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex with upside as the likely early down replacement with Sanders out.

Oct 28th · 09:26 PM
Miles Sanders Absent From Practice Thursday

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) missed his second straight day of practice on Thursday and doesn't appear likely to play in Week 8 against the Detroit Lions. Sanders was carted off the field with a low ankle sprain in last week's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and is week-to-week. With the 24-year-old likely to miss at least one game, rookie Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott should split the backfield work this Sunday against the winless Lions in an excellent matchup. Jordan Howard could also join the active roster and be used in short-yardage situations. In PPR setups, Gainwell is your best bet as an RB2/3 if Sanders is inactive. Scott is likely to be the team's early down back and will be a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex.

Oct 27th · 11:57 PM
Miles Sanders, DeVonta Smith Out Wednesday

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle, foot) and rookie wide receiver DeVonta Smith (headache) both missed practice on Wednesday. Sanders is week-to-week with a low ankle sprain but isn't expected to play this Sunday against the Detroit Lions in a great matchup. Boston Scott is expected to handle early downs, with rookie Kenneth Gainwell serving as the pass-catching back. Jordan Howard could also be called up from the practice squad and could steal valuable goal-line touches. Gainwell will have more appeal as a PPR flex, while Scott and Howard will be touchdown-dependent flexes in deeper leagues. Smith should have a good chance to play in Week 8, where he'll have real WR2 upside against the winless Lions.

Oct 26th · 12:17 PM
Miles Sanders "Week-To-Week" With A Low-End Ankle Sprain

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said running back Miles Sanders (ankle) is "week-to-week" with a low-end ankle sprain. The 24-year-old sustained the injury in a Week 7 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. He was carted off the field and did not return in Sunday's loss. Despite being listed as week-to-week, the Eagles have yet to rule him out for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. Fantasy managers should monitor the Eagles' injury report throughout the week. Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott will lead the Eagles backfield if Sanders cannot suit up in Week 8. Stay tuned.

Oct 25th · 06:21 PM
Miles Sanders' Ankle Sprain Not That Serious?

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) is believed to have suffered a low ankle sprain in the Week 7 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Sanders' injury looked much more serious, as he was carted off the field and never returned. Tests are still ongoing, so there is no firm word on whether he'll miss any time or how long he might be sidelined, but the good news is that it looks like Sanders isn't dealing with a long-term injury. The 24-year-old had six carries for 30 yards and also caught one pass for minus-three yards before leaving the contest against Las Vegas. Consider him highly questionable for Week 8 against the Detroit Lions in a great matchup for Philly's ground game. If Sanders can't go, rookie Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott should split backfield duties, with Scott likely working more on early downs and Gainwell in obvious passing situations.

Oct 25th · 04:54 AM
Eagles Don't Think Miles Sanders Suffered Broken Ankle

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) is undergoing X-rays on his injured ankle, but head coach Nick Sirianni doesn't think Sanders suffered a broken ankle in the Week 7 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Sanders was carted off the field and was quickly ruled out with his ankle injury. While he may have avoided a broken ankle, it doesn't mean that he won't be forced to miss time moving forward. The 24-year-old has been a huge disappointment so far this year and had six carries for 30 yards before his injury, adding one catch for minus-three yards. Quarterback Jalen Hurts led the team with 13 carries for 61 yards, but Boston Scott had seven carries (two more than rookie Kenneth Gainwell) for 24 yards and a rushing score after Sanders left the contest. Gainwell was second on the team with eight targets, catching four of them for 41 yards and a touchdown. If Sanders misses time, Scott and Gainwell figure to share the backfield, with Scott being the early down back and Gainwell playing in passing situations.

Oct 24th · 09:53 PM
Miles Sanders Done For Week 7

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) won't return to Sunday's affair against the Las Vegas Raiders. The 24-year-old sustained an ankle injury after getting smothered by Denzel Perryman after a catch. He was evaluated on the sideline before he was subsequently carted back to the locker room, where his fate was sealed for the remainder of Week 7. Sanders hasn't lived up to expectations this season, although an extended absence would be unfortunate. Nonetheless, Kenneth Gainwell will likely be the primary beneficiary out of the backfield and should be gobbled up off waivers, especially if Sanders misses time moving ahead.

Oct 24th · 08:41 PM
Miles Sanders Carted Off The Field Sunday

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) was carted off the field and taken to the locker room after suffering an ankle injury in the first quarter of the Week 7 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. He's officially questionable to return. Sanders had six carries for 30 yards and caught his only target for minus-three yards before leaving the game with what could be a serious ankle injury. Rookie Kenneth Gainwell, who has been backing up Sanders all year, caught a 13-yard touchdown pass for the game's first score. The rookie would become an immediate priority waiver-wire addition heading into Week 8 if Sanders' injury is serious enough to cause him to miss any time. With the Eagles often abandoning their running game early on, Sanders has been a huge fantasy disappointment up to this point in the season. Boston Scott should see an expanded role for the rest of the game if Sanders doesn't return.

Oct 21st · 04:27 PM
Miles Sanders - Week 7 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders is in the middle of an extremely disappointing season. Sanders was hyped as a breakout candidate before the season started, but through six games, he's averaging less than 10 carries per game and just 45 yards per game on the ground. It hasn't been all his fault, as the Eagles play calling has been a disaster all year. But still, Sanders hasn't done much with the few chances he's received. He's the overall RB38 in fantasy points per game and can't be trusted as anything more than a bye-week FLEX filler. With running back becoming a bit of a wasteland in Week 7, Sanders will be ranked somewhere near the RB2/3 turn.

Oct 15th · 03:16 PM
Miles Sanders Finally Gets Some Carries In Week 6

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders finally saw some carries in a Week 6 loss to the Tampa Bay Bucs. He went into halftime with one carry for one yard, definitely leaving any fantasy managers brave enough to still have him in the starting lineup clenching their fists. In the second half though, the Eagles remembered that they do indeed have players that can run the ball that are not named Jalen Hurts, and Sanders ended up with nine rushes for 56 yards and two catches for 10 more yards. He ripped off a few huge runs as the Eagles almost made a comeback late in the game. Hurts still got the goal line carries and scored two touchdowns, and there's no sign that will change despite how effective Sanders was when given the ball. He'll be no more than a FLEX option until the Eagles thoroughly revamp their play calling.

Oct 13th · 04:10 AM
Miles Sanders - Week 6 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders is no longer a legitimate starter at the fantasy running back position. Sanders came into the season hyped as a potential breakout candidate and was drafted as an RB1 in many fantasy leagues. Instead, he's finished as the RB36 or lower every game since Week 1. Part of the blame falls on the Eagles play calling, but even when he's been given chances, Sanders hasn't been able to do anything with them. He'll remain a FLEX option just because of the potential touchdown upside, but that's certainly not what fantasy managers were looking for when they drafted him. The Eagles take on the Tampa Bay Bucs on Thursday Night Football in Week 6.

Oct 10th · 08:59 PM
Miles Sanders Has Another Pedestrian Game In Week 5

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders had another disappointing game in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers. Sanders ran the ball 11 times, gaining 45 scoreless yards. He also caught all five of his passing game targets, but only gained a total of six yards. Quarterback Jalen Hurts scored two touchdowns on the ground and continues to be the focus of the Eagles ground game. Sanders, despite clear RB1 talent, has fallen to the RB3 ranks and may continue to fall.

Oct 7th · 03:40 PM
Miles Sanders A Concerning Choice In Week 5 Lineups

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders, drafted to be an RB1 by most fantasy managers this season, is a concerning option in any Week 5 starting lineup. Despite being one of the more talented backs in the league, Sanders had just 15 total touches in Weeks 3 and 4 combined. The Eagles play callers seem to have completely abandoned the running game unless it's quarterback Jalen Hurts running the ball himself. Combine the lack of opportunities for running backs with the fact that rookie Kenneth Gainwell has legitimately emerged as a threat to Sanders, and Sanders is barely an RB3 option for Week 5. He may have a week where the Philly offense finally runs through his legs, but he's finished outside of the top-36 fantasy running backs for three weeks in a row now.

Oct 5th · 07:12 PM
Miles Sanders, Kenneth Gainwell To Continue Splitting Time?

Philadelphia Eagles running backs Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell look like they will continue to be in a timeshare in the Philadelphia backfield moving forward, according to reporter Tim McManus. Sanders has not been all that impressive so far, as Gainwell outproduced him in Week 5 with 89 total yards and a touchdown to Sanders' 49 total yards, despite playing 18 fewer snaps. The rookie out of Memphis should be rostered in all PPR leagues considering the role he has carved out in the passing game. Until Sanders can find some consistency in his game, it appears that Gainwell will be an important part of the Philadelphia offense. Considering the presence of the two backs limits both of their upside, if either one is to miss time the remaining option in the backfield would get a significant increase in value.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
