Nyheim Hines Finishes With 56 Yards In Week 13 Win

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines carried three times for 24 yards and caught three passes for an additional 32 receiving yards during a 31-0 Week 13 win over the Houston Texans. Hines produced a decent floor in PPR formats against a vulnerable Houston run defense but has his ceiling capped due to the 32 carries Jonathan Taylor absorbed. The good news for Hines' fantasy managers is that he saw the second-most targets (4) on the team during Sunday's win, which he also finished with during their Week 12 loss against Tampa Bay. Hines is an RB4 who can be valued as a desperation Flex play due to his passing usage.

Nyheim Hines Finishes With Three Receptions In Week 12 Loss

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines carried once for three yards and caught three passes for 26 yards during a 38-31 Week 12 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Hines has become an afterthought as a ball carrier behind Jonathan Taylor but occasionally provides a floor game in PPR leagues due to his usage in the passing game. With Carson Wentz attempting 44 passes against the Bucs, Hines soaked up four targets that yielded three receptions for 26 yards. Hines is a low-end RB4 and remains a high-risk player despite a favorable matchup against the Houston Texans in Week 13.

Nyheim Hines Rushes For 31 Yards In Week 11 Win

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines carried four times for 31 yards during a 41-15 Week 11 win over the Buffalo Bills. Hines has seen his role reduced substantially as Jonathan Taylor has ascended into the fantasy RB1 during the last month. Hines did not see a target against the Bills and scored only one touchdown in his previous eight games. As a result, you can drop Hines to waiver wires in most fantasy leagues.

Nov 14th · 10:02 PM
Nyheim Hines Draws Four Targets In Week 10 Win

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines carried twice for 12 yards and caught two passes for an additional 17 receiving yards during a 23-17 Week 10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, Hines remains a non-factor in the Colts' running game as Jonathan Taylor has emerged as a superstar in the backfield, handling the lion's share of carries. Hines did draw four targets, but this number is trending in the wrong direction after seeing six targets against the Jets in Week 9 and five against the Titans in Week 8. As a result, Hines is a low-end RB4 and only holds a slight floor value, roughly five to eight points, in PPR formats moving forward.

Nyheim Hines Draws Five Targets In Week 8 Loss

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines caught four of five passes for 22 yards and rushed once for a two-yard carry during a 34-31 Week 8 overtime loss against the Tennessee Titans. Hines is being phased out of the running game but sees anywhere from two to eight targets per game, making him a low-end RB3 with RB2 upside when he can surpass five targets in a game. Yet, this is the challenge with Hines, as his inconsistent ability to be involved in the passing game makes him too risky to roll into lineups for the time being.

Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines Good To Go

Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor (ribs) and Nyheim Hines (ribs) both practiced in full on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday. The Tennessee Titans, Indy's Week 8 opponent, have allowed just 233 rushing yards and one rushing TD on 41 attempts in the last three weeks, but Taylor is an elite RB1 asset in fantasy after picking things up in recent weeks. The 22-year-old second-year back has 63 carries for 408 yards (6.48 yards per carry) and five touchdowns while adding 10 catches (12 targets) for 143 yards and another score. In the first three games, Taylor had 42 carries for 171 yards (4.07 yards per carry) and no touchdowns, adding eight catches for 70 yards. Hines is getting a few scraps behind Taylor and hasn't had any standalone fantasy value.

Oct 28th · 12:31 AM
Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines Limited In Practice

Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor (ribs) and Nyheim Hines (ribs) were both limited in practice on Wednesday with rib injuries. It sounds like both running backs should be fine to play in a Week 8 divisional matchup against the Tennessee Titans, who have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points per game to RBs in the last three weeks. Regardless, Taylor is a must-start, high-end RB1 commodity. He has run for over 100 yards in three of the last four weeks and has scored six touchdowns (five rushing, one receiving) in the last four games after a slow start to the season. Hines is seeing mere scraps behind Taylor and also hasn't been much of a factor in the passing game. Taylor had a season-low 10 carries for 64 yards and caught his lone target for eight yards in the Week 3 loss to the Titans, but we'd expect better production this weekend.

Oct 25th · 03:20 PM
Nyheim Hines Held To 12 Total Yards In Week 7 Win

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines carried eight times for 14 yards and caught his lone target for a negative two-yard reception during a 30-18 Week 7 win over the San Francisco 49ers. Hines dropped a wide-open pass on the sideline that could have led to a lengthy touchdown score. Instead, the fourth-year running back winded up with only 12 yards on nine touches. Hines only saw 28 percent of offensive snaps on Sunday, which has led to wins for the Colts in a reduced role. He is a prime candidate to try and package in a trade before he completely loses all value in fantasy leagues.

Oct 17th · 09:38 PM
Nyheim Hines Held To 22 Yards In Week 6 Win

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines carried four times for 13 yards and caught one of two targets for an additional nine-yard reception during a 31-3 Week 6 win over the Houston Texans. Hines has seen his opportunity dwindle in the last couple of weeks, as Jonathan Taylor has proved explosive and much more involved in the Colts' passing attack. Hines should be treated as a low-end RB3 or even an RB4 if he continues to be held to two targets per game. A difficult matchup on the road against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7 will force most fantasy managers to sit Hines in PPR formats.

Oct 12th · 12:13 PM
Nyheim Hines Held To 18 Total Yards In Week 5 Loss

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines carried four times for 18 yards and failed to catch his lone target during a 31-25 overtime loss against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5. Hines has been extremely limited in his last two outings due to Marlon Mack usurping carries and Jonathan Taylor becoming the dominant RB1 he appeared towards the latter half of last season. While he remains incorporated within Frank Reich's offense, it's challenging to trust Hines' usage moving forward. However, he gets a favorable divisional matchup at home against the Houston Texans in Week 6, which means Hines could hold some value as an RB3, depending on if his carries and targets increase.

Oct 9th · 11:43 AM
Nyheim Hines Limited In Friday's Practice

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines (shoulder) was a limited participant in Friday's practice. He was added to the injury report after the Colts running back suffered the shoulder injury in the Week 4 win over the Miami Dolphins. The 24-year-old has just 18 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown on the ground, but Hines is the Colts' top pass-catching back, hauling in 14-of-18 targets for 124 yards over four games in 2021. Marlon Mack and Jordan Wilkins would see an expanded role if Hines is ruled out. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation. Hines is considered a solid PPR flex and an RB3 for Monday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens.

Oct 8th · 12:26 AM
Nyheim Hines On The Week 5 Injury Report

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines (shoulder) is on the Week 5 injury report after missing practice on Thursday. Hines suffered the shoulder injury in the Week 4 win over the Miami Dolphins, but his injury doesn't sound all that serious. If he can return to practice Friday or Saturday, Hines should be able to play on Monday night in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens. The 24-year-old has just 18 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown on the ground, but Hines has always been more of a pass-catching back, hauling in 14 of his 18 targets for 124 yards through four games. The Ravens have allowed five TDs to running backs this year, but all five have come on the ground. If Hines were to sit this weekend, Jordan Wilkins and Marlon Mack would help spell Jonathan Taylor. Hines will be an RB3/flex in PPR leagues if he plays.

Sep 26th · 10:27 PM
Nyheim Hines Scores Rushing Touchdown In Week 3 Loss

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines carried six times for 25 yards and a touchdown while adding five receptions for 54 yards in a 25-16 Week 3 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Hines has been one of the most consistent targets for Carson Wentz through the Colts' first three games, totaling 16 targets as the team's second-leading receiver with 12 receptions for 119 yards. Hines is a high-end RB3 with RB2 upside moving forward into a Week 4 tilt against the Miami Dolphins.

Sep 19th · 11:33 PM
Nyheim Hines Totals 22 Yards In Week 2 Loss

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines carried once for five yards and caught one of two passes for 17 yards during Sunday's 27-24 Week 2 loss against the Los Angeles Rams. Hines saw his targets drop from eight to two and was given only one carry, disappointing fantasy managers expecting a similar role to his Week 1 usage. Continue rostering Hines, but he is a fringe RB3/Flex play moving forward against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3.

Sep 12th · 11:06 PM
Nyheim Hines Leads Colts In Targets In Week 1 Loss

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines carried nine times for 34 yards and caught six of eight targets for 48 yards during Sunday's 28-16 loss against the Seattle Seahawks. This is encouraging for fantasy managers who roster Hines, as his continued involvement in the passing game makes him an RB3/Flex option moving forward. Nine carries halved Jonathan Taylor's usage but this provides a steady floor for Hines in a difficult matchup against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2.

Sep 11th · 01:09 AM
Nyheim Hines Agrees To Three-Year Extension With Colts

The Indianapolis Colts and running back Nyheim Hines have agreed to a three-year, $18.6 million extension with $12 million in guaranteed money. It's a nice payday for the Colts No. 2 running back and his new contract will make him one of the top-10 highest paid running backs in the league. Despite being listed behind Jonathan Taylor on the depth chart, Hines figures to remain the pass-catching threat in the backfield. As long as Taylor is healthy, Hines offers minimal value in non-PPR leagues, but he offers plenty of value in PPR leagues. Hines will square offer against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1 and makes for a fine flex option in PPR leagues.

Sep 8th · 12:30 PM
Nyheim Hines Listed Second On The Colts RB Depth Chart

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines is listed as the number 2 back behind undisputed starter Jonathan Taylor. Marlon Mack was listed as the number three running back behind Taylor and Hines on Tuesday. Hines is the Colts' top-passing catching option, and the team plans to involve him more in the offense this season. The 24-year-old rushed for 380 yards on 89 attempts while hauling in 63 catches on 76 targets for 482 yards and seven total touchdowns over 16 games in 2020. Hines has plenty of stand-alone fantasy value in PPR formats and will see even a more significant boost as the Colts' second running back. Fantasy managers should be targeting Hines over Mack as Taylor's primary backup in upcoming fantasy drafts.

Jan 10th · 03:02 AM
Nyheim Hines Rushes For 75 Yards

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines rushed for 75 yards in a 27-24 loss to the Bills. Hines was extremely effective, picking up 12.5 yards per carry. However, he had just seven total touches, so he did not get much of an opportunity. Hines is definitely a valuable player for the Colts, but not being a workhorse back makes his fantasy value limited. He enters the final year of his contract next season, and it is reasonable to expect a season that is similar to what he posted this year.

Jan 8th · 10:38 PM
Nyheim Hines An Average Flex Option

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines has decent flex value in a wild-card matchup against the Bills on Saturday. Hines had a productive season, recording over 850 total yards and seven total touchdowns. However, he has averaged only nine touches per game over the last five weeks of the season. He also has not recorded a touchdown since Week 13. RookieJonathan Taylor has seen the bulk of the touches in the final stretch of the regular season, so there is limited opportunity for Hines to produce. He has just average flex value this week against Buffalo, but he could be a sleeper that pays off if Indy has to pass often.

Jan 4th · 01:37 AM
Nyheim Hines Records 67 Total Yards

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines had a productive end to the regular season. He had just two rushing attempts for 17 yards but paced the team in receiving with six catches for 50 yards. Hines demonstrated his importance for most of the season, especially in the passing game, finishing with 63 catches. Jonathan Taylor is certainly the running back of the future, but Hines will continue to be a valuable player. He has one year left on his contract and will definitely see a fair amount of snaps in next week's first round playoff game against the Bills.

Jan 2nd · 07:55 PM
Nyheim Hines A Risky Flex Option In Season Finale

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines has been productive for most of the season, but limited touches makes him a risky fantasy option on a week-to-week basis. He has picked up at least five yards per carry in each of the last three games but has just 20 total carries during that span. The Jaguars Defense has allowed a lot of fantasy points to opposing running backs, and Hines was able to take advantage of that in Week 1 with two total touchdowns. He definitely has some flex value in deeper leagues, but limited touches makes his ceiling fairly low.

Dec 28th · 01:10 AM
Nyheim Hines Gets 13 Touches

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines had a productive day in a loss against the Steelers. He was able to pick up 44 rushing yards on 5.5 yards per carry and also caught five passes for 20 yards. Hines has three straight games with at least 50 total yards, continuing to prove that he will produce when given ample opportunity. His snap count is still limited, so will not be the best fantasy option in Week 17 against the Jaguars. However, he went for over 70 total yards and two touchdowns in their Week 1 matchup.

Dec 27th · 02:38 AM
Nyheim Hines A Deep-League Flex Option, At Best

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines is a borderline, deep-league flex option this week against the Steelers. The emergence of Jonathan Taylor has resulted in Hines seeing just a little over 30 percent of the team's snaps over the last three weeks. He has picked up over 8 yards per carry in each of the last two weeks but has just 12 total touches in those games. A good Steelers Defense that will likely force quite a bit of third down situations may result in Hines seeing an increased workload, but his ceiling is fairly low. He should only be considered a potential flex option in deeper leagues this week.

Dec 20th · 10:02 PM
Nyheim Hines Gets Just Seven Touches

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines had only seven touches in a 27-20 win against the Texans. Hines averaged 8.6 yards per carry on the ground but had just five attempts. He also saw just three targets in the passing game, so he did not have much of an opportunity to post good fantasy stats. However, he tallied 54 yards on his limited touches, proving he is still productive. This will likely be the rule for Hines going forward as Jonathan Taylor continues to play well. He may see some more third down opportunities next week against a tough Steelers Defense.

Dec 19th · 04:24 PM
Nyheim Hines A Questionable Flex Option In Week 15

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines will be a risky flex option this week against the Texans due in large part to Jonathan Taylor emerging over the last three games. Hines has seen his snap count fall back to about 35 percent of the team's snaps over the last couple games. The Texans run defense has been atrocious all year, so Taylor will likely see a lot of touches and limit Hines' value. Hines had just nine total touches in a Week 13 contest against the Texans but was able to salvage his day with a rushing touchdown. He will still see time on third down and in passing situations, but Hines is likely just a borderline flex option this week.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
